Very comprehensive video of install, I love how the 2 into 1 exhausts sound compared to a true dual. One note, whatever your justification for buying the exhaust nobody cares. People feel like they need the explain and justify their reasonings for buying anything that isn’t the “top of the heap”. If the video didn’t have that part it would be 10/10. Otherwise this is one of the best exhaust install/review videos I’ve seen ever.
Hey man will you ever be doing an Evotech radiator guard install?
Didn’t I do it already?
Disconnect the battery for this ?
Did you have to run the bars wider?
I work for a BMW Motorrad dealer and we do have S1000RR riders of all types. This is what you need to know. Ridden as a commuter or touring bike (not that you would), it should last 75,000kms before an engine rebuild is required. Never go past 10,000kms for a dealer service. If you do a track day, say once a month, this reduces to 1000 kms or every track day. And it would be normal to expect a rebuild by 20,000kms. This is a highly stressed engine producing 210hp/ltr. It is not a bike for those without deep pockets. Its a race bike thats road registerable. It is not one to own as a daily rider. A Suzuki Hayabusa with 180hp from 1300cc is at 140hp per ltr. Thats 30% less engine stress. It's why a Suzuki will last a lot longer.
2007 GsxR1000 bought it new. No motor problems 60,000 miles. Japanese all the way.
How them accountable. No more free ride for corporations. They want to be sociopathic, the public can respond. This is why I continue to drive my 1969 Chevy van with a built 350. I have no real problems and they are easy and cheap to fix. It has about 1.5 million miles on it and goes like hell when you put your foot in it.
Thats nice those clips lifted or unlifted?
121 days in the shop on my new 2024
I’m so glad I sold mine!
Hello huge thanks for the video tutorial. I want to change the reservoir on my M1000R and now I am more confident. Cheers from Australia.
I am glad this helped you out, have you changed them yet?
@@LonestarMoto No, I am about to order the parts from Rizoma during the black Friday sales. I also plan to replace the stock headers to get rid of the catalytic converter but I am undecided between Akrapovic and Arrow and stainless and titanium (the ss Akra costs approximately the same as the ti Arrow)
That was always my issue too, the titanium is so expensive!
Are tou happy with this filter? I have read several reports of too much dust getting past the filter and into the air box.
I have not had any issues with this filter. It’s been perfect, but I guess it depends on where you live. How dusty it is and how much you ride
Also, remember, Sprint makes two different filters they make a street and a race version
Can this exhaust be installed on 2024 V4S ? I so want to get it but dont know what to do 🥲
Yes it can be installed on a 2024
What yr is your bike ? Does S1 fit on 2024 model ?
Thanks for posting this video. I’m sure , you saved me a lot of time and stopped me from making mistakes. Take care
i always buy carburated bikes so you dont have all those problem with injection and sensors end ecu , no need in a bike
the bike is surprisingly very good riding but its a copy of a jap bike the engine is a total copy of a suzuki but more powerful and unreliable
BMW is not a serious motorcycle maker as Aprilia and Ducati
is it the slip on mid pipe ?
Doing this today so big thanks for the video! And all other videos. Great content.
I hope it helped you out!
@@LonestarMoto For sure, At least I saved an hour or two... :) Great channel. Keep up the videos. Impressive knowledge and bike taste.
Very helpful 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Is it okay to torque those 8 bolts before installing the headers ? Should be much easier process to do so
Awesome video man thanks a lot for making it
Hope it helped! I need to post more as I have been lagging bad
Did you need to use any resistors for the turn signals?
No sir! But they do come with them if you need them!
Hey lonestar If you get it tuned after adding aftermarket exhaust and dont tune it to go past the rev limiter would it keep the warranty by chance do you know?
I’m sure the way BMW is I doubt it
Did this make the position more aggressive
No, just more adjustable
I generally use a 2 x 4 to support the back wheel, but a stack of paper does a good job huh?😂
PLEASE TELL ME WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE winglets decals with the Texas flag. You are the 2nd one I seen with those, the first one was Ducati Austin owners bike, and the guys didn’t know where he got it from
I got those from my local Ducati dealer
Ducati Austin??
@9GSR Yes! Free with every 28k motorcycle you buy lol
@@LonestarMoto okay, I buy parts and accessories often from them for my 23 v4R. I know Tanner
@9GSR oh yeah they are great guys, I live in Georgetown and you?
Did you need an up map for the exhaust ?
I used brentuning
Great watch thinking of doing the same to mine, great protection for the paint as well 😉
It makes such a big difference in how they look, I’m definitely glad I did it!
I got a head ache from the second exhaust that Sound is insane
Haha, sounds pretty good
Good job 👍 I have a friend who does that for a living and I know how hard it is to do. He did my Ducati Panigale with different decals but good job . All the way from Sydney Australia …
Thank you! I wouldn’t mind being in Sydney right about now!!
I just picked up a 2024 Street Fighter V4S and want to put this slip on onto my bike. Does the place where you got yours have good prices for my model?
Apologies, I wrote this while waiting your video.
No worries
its cheaper than FULLSIX CARBON but it will kill you in Shipping cost !!!
No, you just have to order a lot, not one piece for sure
Thanks for the video. Great learning experience.
Glad you liked it!
what is the torque spec for the frame sliders ?
Hello man where do you buy the v4r decals?
Those were bought from Vulture graphics in italy
“I just installed an Akrapovic exhaust on a 2024 S1000 RR and it’s overheating like crazy. I undid the two hose clamps attached to the radiator to make it easier to install the exhaust. Everything is put back together. The reservoir is topped off with coolant to the max level, but when I squeeze the two hoses, I don’t feel like there’s any coolant in there. I have started it up a few times, and the engine is burning. Any suggestions on what to do?
If you have everything reconnected, the only thing I can think of is that you have an airlock in the radiator somehow!
@@LonestarMoto Flush the whole radiator or just release the air out of the bleeder screw?
What parts/bolts are you using to connect the carbon sides to the lower fairings?
Nice Video 😊 Did you adjusted the rearsets after riding? I mounted them on my Panigale. In my opinion the gear shifter is quite low. Difficult to get underneath with racing boots.
I made sure the measure where the factory ones landed and just but these back in basically the same location, works fine for street but I can tell when I ride with boots I will probably have to adjust them
What’s the difference between installing a servo buddy or keeping the original ? I’ve installed the exhaust without putting on the servo buddy since I didn’t have one. Now I’m thinking of installing it on, but I read on the web that installing a servo buddy after turning the engine on can cause problems. Thank you
So at the engine isn’t tuned and you remove the servo there’s really no difference between the servo and the servo buddy other than it just keeps the light from coming on if the motor is tuned, you don’t need a servo buddy
Obviously, the servo buddy is a little cleaner and lighter than leaving the servo in without the cables on it
Got it. I will install one since it’s lighter and I don’t like to leave the original one without the cables on. Thank you for your answer! Really nice tutorial, I used it to install my Sc project exhaust on my Ducati panigale V4 S!
Thanks and I’m glad it helped you out!
Top
Dose this exhaust comes with the akrapovic map included in the box ?
No, I used Bren tuning
Nice video. What’s the reason you replaced the SC Project? Also which sound do you like better?
I prefer the dual exhaust, the sc is a great exhaust but so loud for the road. I have to say I do prefer the Akra for fit, finish and sound
@@LonestarMoto I have personally ridden sf with akra and arrow, but haven’t had the chance to hear one with sc. curious as to how it sounds.
Do you mind me asking how much you paid, man? I'm trying to be realistic about what kind of deals are out there. 😂
At 9:40 have you tried putting the exhaust bracket behind the holder instead of in front? Maybe that would make the gap to the midpipe a bit bigger?

How did it finally work itself out?
I eventually got it fixed, it was bad prep on the dealers part that caused most of the problems, I have since sold it and moved on to something else.
In 1985 I bought am already old Susuki GS 750..ran like a dream with not a single issue...needed zero maintenance except the usual stuff....you would think with new tech things should not go downhill...But Japenese is the way to go..has been like forever
Isn't the manual in the link?
What manual?
