Silverton Oregon is WOKE AF now. We live there. We moved out of the Willamette Valley to get further out and thought Silverton would be far enough, but apparently not.

It IS a boring place to live. More homeless and more drugs are making it even worse! I don’t understand why people are moving here. And there’s not enough police to control crimes.

The movie Bandits was filmed partially in silverton at the corner building on Water and Main St. bank scene and at the Townhouse restaurant anybody who’s actually from silverton knows exactly what danger hill and other local spots are no explanation needed cool facts

You could’ve mentioned the murals! You just walked past two of them! Or how about the little covered bridge?? How about some of the beautiful older homes that you passed? I know you’re trying to show some of the homes that are available for sale, but showing other homes in the community can make Silverton that much more desirable to live in!

In Silverton, we get along. No big political expression ~ the mayor is just the mayor - no political party. This works for us. Also, it is incredibly expensive to buy into this town. For us, it has been so worth it. Our children continue to be innocent. ✝️🙏🏽💕 Thank-you for this tour! Nicely done. We do love it here. 💕

Surprise you didn’t mention “property tax.” ? Marion county property tax is the highest in the state. some area in Salem property tax can be 19%. It’s outrageous ! Another thing about Salem you didn’t mention is “homeless people.” They scatter everywhere especially along HWY I-5, and off the ramp underneath the bridge by Market St. don’t move to Salem: running down and boring town!

2:53 Notice the clouds obscuring the hills. We see the seasons come and go on the hills. Snow, blossoms and fall colors among the green of the timber. Sometimes the weather hides the hills around us completely. We live close to nature. She kept us icebound in the house for a week in January. 4 solid inches of the smoothest, slickest ice I've ever witnessed. A most unusual storm but weather's been going rogue for the last few years. Farmland and beautifully maintained victorian houses abound.

I am in one of the new construction homes. Absolutely lovely little town. Folks are friendly and traffic is heavenly. A great place for seniors and folks raising families.

I just wrote a long love letter to my new home of Dallas but I accidently hit cancel. Suffice it to say that this is a lovely little town in the middle of farmland. Small town feel, folks are welcoming and kind and you can make a left turn without needing a traffic light. Any kind of culture, shopping, sports (all year), food and beverage just over an hour away. Wineries everywhere! Some nice restaurants and stores if you don't want anything too fancy. Homes being built like crazy. A very good retirement facility here that has a range of options in assisted living homes and apartments. For surgery rehab to end of life care. Great place for families with kids and older folks. There are hills in the near distance. Sometimes the clouds are so low they block the deep greens of the woods and farmland on the hillside. Mountain top in the distance on a crystal clear day.

Houses here are getting SO expensive!

One alternative high school you forgot about is Albany Options School. Its a great small alternative for kids who work better in smaller environments

You forgot to mention there is thousands of homeless and almost impossible to walk at the parks with the family, and zero police presence.

Salem a good place to live? Coming from crime-ridden Memphis. Affordable here but I don't want to constantly arm myself everytime I go out.
