    Pacers- I have had a few good here are the qualities. I had a pacer who was a super chatty lady, she would just tell amazing stories about places she ran. I was so tired and hurting that it was actually a nice distraction to focus on her story. I also had my bro in law pace me and he was quiet and gave me my space. Rules for pacers - they are not permitted to complain about anything that is hurting them in the moment chances are you are in worse pain, they should never ask you how you are doing or how you are feeling (you are running 200 miles you are not going ot want answer how you are feeling). I good pacer will do whatever you need, tell them if you want some quite time,. They should just encourage you and assess your coherence. Crew - i know you didn't ask for any advice here but i had used friends and family to crew me and I wish i would have trained them and given them better instructions ( spreadsheets :) I have crewed a few people in the past and the crew boss needs to have thick skin because they may very well get to see your dark site ( so choose wisely). I will be at LSU too in September, I got the 100 done but the 50 k seems to be my nemesis strangely enough . Also agree 100% with warrenl3545 Prairie mountain repeat. Calgary Trail running meet up club used ot do them often, if you have not tried out that group they are quite good to run with and will et you out in the mts a bit more ( safety in numbers)

I did a couple overnight Sartan races and found Nose Hill at night to be good practice. As for the legs and lungs you will need for Tahoe, Prairie mountain works well. • @FUDNF
      @FUDNF หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@geoffb2900 Great question. River loves off leash time without having to work so a simple trip to the park or trails is his favourite. He loves frisbee and just going for walks where he can just chill and not have to “work”. The other key I find for GSP’s is that they like to work so even when they are not working super hard physically if you can get their minds working/thinking that plays them out as well. They are amazing tracking dogs so we will place River, show him an object that he likes and then go hide it in the house or yard. We them tell him to “find it” and he gets to work, brings it back and can do this for as long as we want to.

    They need to drop the "DNF" phrase for when you stop. Very negative for a positive accomplishment, regardless of the distance. And if you run 100 miles and get a DNF because somebody else ran 104... gimmie a break - you didn't DNF just because somebody else went farther. I predict in 5 years that term will be replaced with FY (finished yard) and then the lap number. As in somebody had a FY15. Much more useful and descriptive term.

    • @FUDNF
      @FUDNF หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ZenEndurance Really good points and agree. It’s a bit deflating to the majority of the field that run personal bests and still get a DNF.
