    I found it weird diving with a snorkel in my mouth. Good thing I don't know how to dive deep yet. I was wondering how come it is so popular to put salt water in your mouth. Thanks for clearing it up. So 5 min break for 20min of just snorkeling, will use that advice.

    I bought it, didn’t get to use it yet, but unfortunately it only came with a paper box. Not the c3 carbon mask box shown. Buying the additional $12 case becomes even more expensive when you add shipping charges.

    I have a C4 Falcon mask, and I have the silicone joint cut off, probably by the tension. I only wore the mask for a year. It's an extremely comfortable mask, but unfortunately it has that less good point in its favor. As you mention in the 6:42 minute of your video. Best Regards, from Azores - Portugal

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      was it worn off in the other points that did not break? I bought the mask and I really like it, although the Omer Aqua is pretty great and has a wider field of view., How did you use it?

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abdessalambouzenoun4487 I would write to C4, to your local distributor, and to the store where you bought it. That part that broke seems an integral part of the mask, so I imagine there is nothing you can really do, maybe you could sew/stitch it. It looks like a design flaw, they should change that part to a regular solid piece of silicone. I find it a nice mask, but the Omer Aqua and the old Omer Zero are not that different. The Omer Aqua has a wider field of view

    Hey Rudi I need to ask you something about nose clip; my face is so grease, and after a couple of meter swimming the nose clip start sliding down, what do you use as a nose plug, I have been looking online but I have not found something good, thank you for you answer and for your videos they have a really backed with reality and science!

    Great video, thank you! I really like the style of your videos. I think you're the Electroboom of freediving videos. If you don't know what that means: Electroboom is a very experienced and knowledgeable electrical engineer with a popular TH-cam channel about all things electrical. His style and editing are often funny and flippant, but it's obvious that he is a master of his craft and I've learned a lot watching his videos. My gf loves snorkeling and swimming under water (as long as we're in tropical warm water coral reefs), but she absolutely hates snorkels, because the mouthpieces are so uncomfortable for her that she'd rather just have a mask and hold her breath to peek down at the coral and the fishes. It sounds exhausing - I can comfortably float around the reef's edge for hours breathing through my snorkel and have enough energy left to dive down and follow the turtle or find the hidden crayfish, while she's basically doing breathhold after breathhold at the surface. I'll see if I can find her a snorkel with a softer and narrower mouthpiece to see if that suits her. Is there anything you'd recommend?

  • @Lizapips
    @Lizapips 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was just talking about the inefficiency of breathing up through a snorkel too! It is about a foot of dead space which means air that is not usable by the human body (I.e. exhaled CO2 sitting in the snorkel tube at end exhalation)! Glad to see my thinking was in the right direction! Thank you!!

  • @Lizapips
    @Lizapips 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fantastic explanation! I love how you break down the steps but then seamlessly put them together with the video to show it. I found myself trying to think of each step as I’m doing my entry. The slow motion video with each description is so helpful. Thank you so much!!

    • @djdavidphillips
      @djdavidphillips 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but only once and with the best results ever in a mask. These masks are awesome I have taken mine to 55m and only had to equalise it once. Somehow it starts leak after a long session of taking it on and off (line diving with noseclip or teaching) when the face becomes tired. Not sure why that is but the mask is really awesome. For me at least. Like any mask, best to try before you buy if you can.

    Great vid, another important I would say VERY important aspect of this is that God forbid the diver pass out ( shallow water blackout or similar ) if the snorkel is out of the mouth more than likely the mouth of the diver will be shut thus preventing water to rush into your lungs. NOW what happens if the diver pass out with the snorkel in his mouth ? The snorkel will literally facilitate water rushing to your lungs ! VERY dangerous, I would say is the most dangerous aspect of diving with the snorkel in the mouth.
