Ronnie was Musical Director of at least three Eurovisions too. There's a lovely overture he composed used on all of them, 1974, 1977 and 1992.

I had the honour of meet Ronnie as a 15 year old student...in December 1982...as part lf a school project. I interviewed him. Very generous wirh his time. A true great.

Ronnie incorporated almost every show's title into the melody. Yes - Min - is - ter The - last - of - the - sum - mer - wine etc. With Some Mothers Do 'Ave' Em, he not only did that, but the melody also spells out the title in Morse code. The man was a genius
