Sorell Recycling - #71064
Not sure when, but Veolia in the south of Tassie purchased/aquired some trucks from up north. We had known about #71071 being down here for a little while, but just this week I saw #71064 heading to the MRF. I managed to find it not long after and got this video. A big thank-you to the driver for letting me film.
This truck has been filmed a few times before, just not in the south. You can tell it is from up north by a few 'non-standard' items for Veolia down here, such as the black mudguards, spray suppressant, different font on the number, it's GenV bin grab, as well as some other features. This truck also sounds a bit different with the higher idle when not cycling the arm.
The truck has some quite bent and distorted arms that control the rotation of the bin grab. This results in the bin grab sitting on quite an angle when stowed/parked, as you can see in the video.
Sorry about the shit audio as well, it is something I need to address soon.
Hope you enjoy, Cheers!

Filmed this one a while ago, just the truck collecting some Brickwoods. You'll notice the paddle get stuck with the load of the last bin, which was insulation off of copper wire. The paddle motor doesn't output enough torque at low speeds to be able to push past items that fall between it and the wall of the hopper bowl (especially rubber items). The truck has changed a bit since this video. I'...

Been a while getting this together! Just finished the new truck, took about a year and was a frustrating process. I hope you enjoy this light Garbage load, will upload Recycling and Greens later. I hope you like the new truck and notice the improvements over the last one. I will also upload a video of some progress photos that haven't been seen before and some photos that were invaluable when b...

Bit more work on the new truck. New body is getting there! The brown/beige stuff is from welding. The gasless MIG is dirty as. Haven't got the front guards on in this video, and tailgate sits too high because the pin and hinge is bent. Snorkel and exhaust were sticky taped on for a bit but they fell off. You can see them in the first photo. Has the GenV style grabber on it which I have been wor...

Unusual to see the old Volvo in Glenorchy! The tandems struggle a bit with the tight spaces. This truck normally operates in Kingborough. @wasteintasmania has heaps of great videos of this truck if you want to see some more and better footage of it! 96 is a bit battered for a relatively new truck, not sure why but I have been told that Hobart's new Volvos are already starting to chew themselves...

Let me know what you guys think of the new truck so far! Some things to note: - The cab is the same cab off of the old model truck, I have just changed the steps, grille, windscreen surround and flares. - The truck has a subframe like the actual Bucher/MJE trucks. - The garbage body is the old one and just on for reference. - The grabber is going to be changed to a GenV style one. - I am going ...

Bit of action from a different truck - with the same legend driver! You may notice this truck has a mudflap bolted to the spill shield - the factory SPAK spill shields come short of the edge of the hopper and is not very wide, causing rubbish to spill out easily. The driver requested the mudflap to be added and it works great! You can tell from the arm - so clean for a FOGO truck! I was chattin...

Part 2 of #71114 on Recycling. You may notice a dent in the bumper (it is visible at 1:50) on the right hand side of the truck (left hand side in the shot). #71114 was involved in a bit of an accident up Collinsvale when someone came around a corner on the wrong side of the road. The car was basically written off, but the truck only sustained a broken light a dent, and some scratches. You may n...

Sell these at all mate? from tassie aswell, trying to find a truck for my son for christmas and he watches yours all day long. cheers bud
Is 71067 still around?
As far as I know, but there is talk of it being put up for retirement soon.
Fuck now this is cool. Love seeing this truck at idle thank fuck they didnt put it on auto rev at the moment. Fast/Swift operator which also makes it good looking operated truck. Also nice to see it on recycling as it was barely used for recycle up here. Before these Euro 6 trucks Also known as 'Strails' started, the twin gen V 71065 was a contract for West Tamar recycling and 71064 was contracted for waste. Now days 71065 is a spare and the 35m 71119 truck (Strails) is now contracted on 71065s old run for recycling. However either 71020 or 71118 (Both Spak Strails) now does 71064s old waste run. I remember when the volvos came out (A year or so before the strails came out) i remember 71103 (Volvo spak) was trailing west Tamar waste with 71064 on recycling. Basically 71065 is in the Launceston yard with the fellow Isuzu 71046 (This truck yoused to trail Launceston City Council FOGO while JJ Richards had the recycling and waste contract). Another interesting thing is 71064 has the rev compared to 71065 running auto rev. I also noticed the arm, haha 71065 also kind of has the same problem. If you want to watch some older videos of 71065 and 71064 also other older veolia trucks that are scrapped and or are in a yard rotting away, visit @Dirtyhandsgarbo30. One more thing, i liked seeing that double garbo at some point in the video, im guessing 71095? Cheers! Cheers!
Thanks mate! Yeah I was stoked to find it, got lucky here. Always good when a great operator lets a truck sing and slam some bins. That's very interesting mate, I wonder why they opted to send 64 down here but keep 65. I have seen those videos by Dirty Hands Garbo and they are awesome! It's great to see this truck and others at different points in their lives, this truck looking a lot healthier in a lot of those videos! Thanks for watching mate cheers!
Thank you mate the reson they keeped 65 up here is because it's better apparently and this was at sprayton for awhile and now they have the new accos it's not needed up Launceston yard
Bloody amazing mate, so glad ypu could get a good video of it. Shes definitely seen better days but glad its still running. Cool to see another truck with GenV grabs, wonder if they will be replaced with UG-6 grabs or not. The stowed grab placement is pretty interesting, dont tend to see that sort of misalignment too often. The bent rods I noticed on 71066 a while back as well but this one seems even worse, probably not something that will ever get fixed though. I did get a comment from one of the engineers at the cambridge depot, from the bloke who fixed the rods on 97 using standard GenV 18/22m rods and a bit of welding which I thought was pretty cool. That driver used to drive full time in Kingston in 71067, neither of which I have seen in a while. Cool little peep of 71095 there, Sorell seems to have stolen it now, hardly ever get Volvos in Kingston anymore and I havent seen 95 here since the start of the year. Keep up the awesome filming mate, love it! Cheers!
Thanks mate! She sure has, had a hard life by the looks of it. Yeah it will be quite interesting to see what comes of this truck, if they are just going to use it for parts or if it will get some new stuff put on it. I went and found that comment and that is pretty awesome mate! Cool to hear what they are called and find out what stuff Veolia keep in stock, and the cool fab work to get it fixed! Ah yes I remember her in 67, I haven't seen 67 for a good while either. We had 70 last week with 71. Yeah they do seem to have, would've been cool if it was two ACCOs running here! Cheers mate and I will try, I have a few old videos to upload as well. Hopefully I can get some more video of something new next week. #71093 has a big split in the front of the body and was pissing water out of it a couple of weeks ago, which I got a little bit of video of too. I put it up on another channel just because it's pretty short and a bit shit but I'll give you a link to it if you want! That channel also has the clip of 71 I got. Cheers!

@TassieGarbo that's an interesting theory, bringing it down for parts and using it in the meantime would make a lot of sense, but we'll see what comes I guess. Nice, 71 seems to be making the rounds as well. 66 and 77 used to run in sorell quite a bit and 67 as well I think, personally yet to see a Volvo Bucher there. Oh interesting, will go check that out, cheers mate!
Great video buddy happy Weekend
Thanks mate, you too!
@TassieGarbo your welcome have a great day
Awesome mate, love seeing the vids you get. She's definitely a bit dirtier and rougher now than she was there, the arm is much looser now. Saw 70 and 109 in Derwent Park yesterday around 2pm. Cheers!
Thanks mate! She sure is, had a hard year. Nice mate, I haven't seen 70 for a little while. 66 was doing FOGO in Glenorchy last thursday too. Cheers!
@@TassieGarbo oh nice, 66 seems to be doing the rounds, I think it's a spare truck again now. Cheers
Nice vid. Good quality also
Thanks mate!
This is awesome on a whole other level. You should definitely take this to market, do a presale or a crowd fund or something to do a limited run or a kit. There is absolutely a market for this! Bravo!
Bloody awesome mate, great to see another vid! Haven't seen 95 in months. I wonder what 66's job has been recently, it used to work in sorell a few times a week but not sure if it still does. Cheers mate!
Cheers mate! Haha yeah finally got a new one up 😅 I hadn't seen 95 for ages until this either. I saw 66 a while ago working in Sorell, but that was when it was still working pretty regularly in Kingston. It was with the same driver as was driving here so maybe it does a reasonable amount of work in Sorell now. Cheers mate!
Awesome video and what a great scenery in the background
Thanks mate!
Nice mate! Nice to see a bit of both manufactory from both trucks as it's a volvo and iveco. Also nice to see some tag teaming in the rural area. Do u still live around Chigwell? If you live in Sorell now, Im guessing you lost power last weekend. (Insane weather) It was awesome being able to see the hopper cam from 95. If you zoom in when the bins in the hopper, you can see the hopper moving around. I remember filming it on FOGO once haha. Nice to see 66 still going strongly. Our 65 (Gen V 22 ACCO) is a spare now. Nice mate!
66 goes alright but is struggling a bit now, it's on the retirement list so I don't expect to see it for much longer
Thanks mate! Yeah we had some pretty hectic rain and wind but didn't lose power surprisingly. Yeah I thought that was pretty cool too! Interesting delay on it too. Cheers mate!
Mint As Video, What truck number is the ACCO?
The second truck (ACCO) is numbered 71066.
@@Launceston_Garbo2Gaming Ok Cheers Mate
Thanks mate! Yeah she's 71066 as Launceston Garbo said.

That's fantastic

This is amazing, one thing I would suggest is lower the speed of the arm when it’s coming. But this is so cool!
Thanks mate! The next truck should have a slower arm speed.
