To avoid a rather unfortunate repeating sound, I re recorded this lovely view of the back alley courtyard outside the first apartment you get in Sleeping Dogs. I always like this area, the starting point for so many adventures in the game.

Down one of many crowded alleys that make up the backstreets of Hong Kong people bustle, steam drifts, water leaks, and light shines through gaps between the tall packed buildings. One of the most picturesque locations in Sleeping Dogs, as well as one of the very first places you visit.

Rain falls on the quiet village of Passwall in The Fringe. Here madmen stay and wait for Lord Sheogorath's "gifts" to fully take hold before they pass through the Gates of Madness into the Shivering Isles beyond. It also plays host to the occasional adventurers who make their way to the realm, seeking treasure, glory, or fame.

After entering the Shivering Isles and leaving the room made of butterflies, one emerges into the Fringe, a walled off border area of the realm. Not part of either Mania or Dementia, it can have weather from both, though the wildlife is unmistakeably that of Dementia.

One of my favourite games, Sleeping Dogs, has some beautiful areas and wonderful ambiences. This is possibly my favourite spot. Perhaps not the most scenic view of video game Hong Kong, but does an amazing job of getting the feel of the game.

Its gardens provide a beautiful and tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of madmen insisting you bring them tongs or find a fork.

这是热血无赖的地方？ 我在山西没见过这种城市，看起来比这里繁华多了，根据设定热血无赖好像还是上世纪90年代的故事，差距蛮大了。
@@user-dm1px1wj4j It's actually set in the late 2000s/early 2010s. And since it's based on Hong Kong martial arts movies, it is pretty full of scoundrels, yeah. A lot more so than the real Hong Kong I'm sure.
Well done, know this part of the game. Awesome that you recorded for a full hours. So funny to see the woman on the top left who throws water each 5 minutes or so., just awesome! Leon
It's actually funny, that stuff can make recording difficult. Because every time she does that, it spawns another bucket. And the previous buckets don't always despawn. Had one when I did a record, and afterwards, out of shot, there were like 100 coffee cups floating in the air that had spawned in because of this. The game promptly crashed XD

Mania is my favorite region in all of Oblivion. It's sooo pretty!
Same! I think the Shivering Isles alone are better than the entore rest of the main game combined, and the visuals are incredible!

Bro the algo is scary, I was trying to remember the name of this game a few nights back, I dont think I told anyone and was thinking how I would like to play it again. It still holds up today quite well. Im going to play it tonight now I have the name! thx for the upload & thx TH-cam algorithm.
Yeah, the algorithm can be weird like that XD And happy to help! Sleeping Dogs is one of my favourite games. Even did a playthrough of it on Twitch with the vods on my archive channel. Hope you're enjoying the best representation of Hong Kong in gaming!

Absolutely! It still baffles me that the only one that got an HD remake was AC3, one of the least popular in the series (though personally I love it), while 1 and the Ezio trilogy get left in the dust!
@@journeyengine A few of the fan mods help. AC2 has a good one that really pushes out the LOD but still give me high res Ezio!!!

Apologies for the near perfectly rhythmic falling spoon sound effect, it's sadly part of the ambience in this location in game, and would be basically impossible to remove

ALL the calipers! And tongs! I love that it is canon that the reason there's no calipers or tongs in Skyrim is because the Champion of Cyrodiil stole every last one XD
