My First Crash | Goodbye Hornet
What was supposed to be a nice quick spin ended badly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family in the car that I crashed into, none of them were injured but they did get a fright.
The hornet is sadly gone, but im still riding the MT-03 and hopefully soon will be getting a new bike.
I posted this video to help prevent people from making the same mistake.
Be safe out there and always wear you gear.

On this day I crashed and totalled the Hornet, I was playing stupid games and won stupid prizes. Looking back on this footage I should have been riding safer. Riding motorbikes is obviously dangerous but that skipped my mind that day and I paid for it. I was wearing full gear so luckily I only sustained minor injuries. I want you all to learn from my mistakes and be smart on the road, and alway...

Epic bike. Plenty of zoom.!
Honda needs to bring these back. But keep them simple .
They need to make hornet 600s again. Sweet bike
599 and 919 were/are the GOAT all around bikes
what beatiful place is this?
It's the Wicklow mountains in Ireland
@@iride1999 🥰thx!
Where did you have your Zoom h1n as you recorded the video?
At the bottom of my backpack, fyi it's important not to have any liquids in your bag as you record as it picks up the slushing sound 👍
the best bike ever! 🎉
The ABS is so important, in this case it would not have changed the situation
I remember passing my test about 5 years ago and i went from a little ybr125 on L-plates to riding a 97 Bandit 600, wow what a fucking jump up that was lol
El frontal con ese faro y esa cupula queda espectacular
JESUS IS COMING
hello, can you share me exhaust system name? its akrapovic?
@@giorgikhukhunaishvili3526 it's a Full arrow exhaust.
oh noo !!! :(
Suzuki gsr 600 or hornet600 ? What you prefer? How much difference there is between them ? What's got the best handling? Pls.let us know
Hornet 600.
Great video Im a hornet owner myself as well...mines is a gen 1 from 1998 My question is, what do you have on your handlebar on the throttle? Something is wired up as i saw...it moves with the throttle
@@andraszambo3590 it's for the heated grips
Ahh got ya...thanks for the quick respond
Are there problems with carburators bcs i want hornet 600 but I dont know if i want carburators or not (bcs of problems with them+more fuel consumption )
I wouldn't say the fuel consumption is any worse, but they do need to be cleaned every once every year or so.
And how much it costs?
So are there any downsides besides cleaning?
@timotejkozusky9739 I'm not sure I did it myself.
@@timotejkozusky9739 its also good idea to let the bike warm up before riding, same with fuel injection but its more important for carburetted bikes.
Thanks for sharing Public roads are not wide racetracks
Great, but the Hornet sounds better. Both the 600 and 919 Hornet sound like no other inline 4s to me.
I have this on my loop in my ears as I'm working. Never gets old.
I would like to get headlights like this for my motorcycle, could you share the link.?
@@robertquintero4749 ledperf.ie just look for the one to fit your bike.
too fast on public road...
Yeah, grabbing a fist full of brake is hard to avoid in situations like this, but gentle braking in the bend probably would have pulled you enough left, Definitely need to slow it down pal, luck runs out eventually. Get a deuville or a Honda Shadow 750 !
The analogue dials look so much better than the cheap looking ugly tablets they have on so many bikes today, hate them !
this bike can be legally a2 restricted right? Because it is under 70hp and kw
It's 97hp but it can still be restricted
@@iride1999 oops i meant 70kw's..
Is it ABS fault? Good luck bro.
thanks dude, no the bike has no abs its all my fault 🥲
i just bought a 1998 honda hornet 600🎉🎉
Ok. Im sold. Im getting a hornet as my first bike. This weekend with any luck.
"Ride to the limits of what you can see" valuable lesson. I shall learn from your mistake. Buying a hornet this weekend all going well. Passed my test this week. Cant wait!
Damn glad you are oke bro. Did you grab frontbrake when you say the car?
yeah exactly right
@@iride1999 Glad you made it out oke that was scary to watch.
Such a lovely older bike. A ereal classic
why you are switching on and off of your kill switch during ride? showing it doesn't work?
its a carbed bike so if you turn on the kill switch, there will be no spark in the engine but fuel will keep flowing into the cylinders and exhaust, when you turn off the kill switch it will spark and sometimes shoot flames out the exhaust.
@@iride1999 thanks for your info. I learned something new today. So you switching it on and off as you are re-starting the engine? why you need to keep give the spark while riding?
i have a 2004 in the usa i love this bike she is 20 now lol still a real goo bike !!!!!
_I'm kinda wanting one as my first bike, I really like the look of them, and I like Honda. anything specific I should look for or look out for?_
@@CallMeMONGOOSE no it just works one of the best bikes i ever had ... keep up on them is cheep .. just keep good tires/good battery and she just starts every time just a good bike if you get a carb bike turn the gas off when parked
Is that headlight stock ?
that windscreen looking good. where to get that? it's blue! matching the bike
I got it off eBay it's called puig vision black/blue
This is going to be my first motorcycle next year. Cant wait
Great bike. Great skills. What was the situation with the red bitton at the end of the video? I just couldn't figure it out.

@iride1999 :😀 wake the neighbourhood. Thanks !
Awesome video with pure sound Ride safe bro 😎 God bless!
My dream❤😍
What mods did you add to the bike? Exhaust
Exhaust and ECU tune
Sounds sooooooo nice. When I get my full A license, I'm getting one !
That’s a proper motorcycle mate👍
Very nice my friend we have the same 💪💪
Have a 1998 Hornet in nice condition with a few upgrades, led lights and full stainless steel exhaust, bought it after passing my test just after my 60th birthday, intended it to be just for a short time till I get more riding experience, but think I'll keep it a while now, love the bike.
@4:10 almost 140 mph! That's really fast!
Try to back off the throttle a fraction as you change up a gear, won't get that excess rev sound then 🤔
Not sure what you mean bro
Bro new video?
It's an old one
@@iride1999 new video when?
Most people let their confidence overtake their skillset when they first get a fast bike. If you're lucky you have a close call, like you did, and reavaluate your riding. Learn from it and you'll be better equipped to judge your safe road speed next time and hopefully a safer rider for your experience. It's better to back off than become a statistic.
Bro he had this bike for at least 2 years
I'm in love
Is this bad boi carburetted, or injected?
It's carburetted 👌
I’m about to buy my own hornet, similar age and mileage. Is yours standard? It sounds so good 👌🏼 any mods you’d recommend?
For performance it has an exhaust, kn filter and stage 1 dynojet kit. But just a exhaust makes all the difference. The jet kit is not necessary because stock the hornet runs rich.
@@iride1999 nice one, thanks!
