can you explain me why any of this matters? most videography youtube channels are promoting iphone over all high end cameras and the comments are loving it. why should I invest in anything not iphone?
That's a question you'll have to answer for yourself. I shoot high end real estate, can you imagine showing up to a property valued over $10 million+ with an iphone, the impression that sends to the client? It all depends on what market you're in, what the clients want, and more importantly how you want to position yourself as a brand. Hope this helps.
Great Video! can you please help me. I'm currently using a FX3 with a Laowa lens 15m 2.8 for real estate photos but I want to take better photos. What do you think of my current gear? should I go with an A7IV with a new lens such as sigma 14 - 24 2.8 or Sony 16-35mm f/4 Zeiss?
I say it in the video: more megapixels doesn't make your photos better for real estate... A7S3 is the best camera for real estate, you have the FX3, so in my eyes the A7IV is a downgrade. You'd have to work around the 1.5x Crop at 4K60 video, I just don't see any benefit there. I have a video on the channel comparing 12-24mm ultra wide and 16-35mm standard wide lenses, watch that to get a better idea of your lens choice. I've used both lenses, the 14-24 2.8 is my go to. The 16-35 f4 zeiss I'd say is a budget beginner lens, you can get them cheap on b&h used, but in my experience they miss on autofocus sometimes and the sigma almost never misses focus. The only caveat to using the 14-24 is that I also have a 24-70mm to shoot tight detail shots, and I do think having those tighter focal lengths is important if you want to shoot better photos. So keep your fx3 camera body and get a new lens is my advice.
@@fulltimerep my plan was to keep my fx3 and get the A7iv for photography? to speed up my workflow onsite. do you think shooting at 15mm for all parts of the house can be too wide and distorted ?
amazing video! informative
Glad it was helpful!
Killer 🎉
thanks bud!
Excellent video
thank you
great stuff. i would like to do your RE course, do you have a coupon code i can use? Thanks
send me an email and I'll see what I can do, reggie@fulltimerep.com
@@fulltimerep just did it. Thanks
Thank you for this video. I'm looking at getting into Real Estate photography. This helps. You got a sub
Awesome, thank you!
How about the Canon Rebel T7?
I used to shoot on the canon rebels back in high school, love that camera and if you already own one it will work for photos. Personally I wouldn't go buy a DSLR at this point because the EF lenses have been replaced by RF, plus you can get brand new mirrorless cameras in a similar price range. Hope this helps.
Great video! I guess an advantage of the 12-24 is if you use a Sony A7IV (or most cameras that cannot do 50p 4k uncropped) in super35 you still have a decent wide shot opening all the way to 12mm ->the resulting 18mm cropped is still pretty good At 16 you end up with 24mm. Too narrow really
yeah thats a great point, that 4K 60 crop is tricky with the a74 but I agree 18mm would work although in a perfect world a 10mm lens x 1.5 crop = 15mm would be ideal.
It is not really about one or the other when shooting real estate.. I am always carrying with me two bodies and since i am using Nikon, I have always 14-30 and 24-120 with me..
that's awesome! would be ideal to have two bodies and both lenses, this analysis is for those people who need to make a decision to just buy one, especially beginners.
The 12-24mm works great for shoots. I've been using it for years for interiors on Sony and Nikon. Great job on the video. Have a great day!
Thanks for the comment, agree its a great choice for interiors!
Great video! Very helpful. Would love to see the editing process. Most people nowadays outsource it but before I end up doing that, I’d love to know how to master it.
Noted! Have some editing videos in the course already but will make some videos for youtube soon.
Thanks, Reggie. All good tips! Have a great day!
Thanks! You too!
The Sony A7Siii is awesome. I just started playing with the A7R5 as well and I am very impressed. Thanks for making this video. Very well done! 😀
My A7Siii still going strong after 3 years! A7R series is fantastic too, maybe a bit large on the file sizes for HDR bracketing but overall great camera.
@@fulltimerep I haven't used the A7R5 for video yet, but hoping to soon! Have a great day! Keep up the great work with the videos.
Very well put-together video! Great work! Subbed! 😀
Awesome, thank you!
Excellent work!
Many thanks!
Thank you for making this video. Quite literally the first video that covers the finer details like edges in the composition, workflow and the quick checklisting before moving into a new room (checking dark exposures).
You're welcome! Good luck with your shoots
Great video and explanation was awesome. QQ: I have sony zve10 with kit lens, any recommendation for lens or settings for real estate photoshoot? also tell me how to edit or where to edit (Apps)
I have a video about cameras and lens recommendations on this channel, also a video about lens choices and composition differences. Check them out, I think they will help!
Greats , thanks bro
Welcome 👍
Full frame Sony cameras have the super 35 crop to get tighter! And for real estate, you should shoot at around f8, I do around 400 houses every year and the 12-24 is by far my weapon of choice!
having those extra few mm makes a big difference!
Giving all those excuses for 16-35 when everyone else recommends the widest lens as possible. Maybe you just don’t know how to frame with 12mm?
I'll paste the same response I provided to Sterling Sanders below, but yes it's highly likely I bring some bias against using the 12mm. Hopefully the video helped demonstrate some practical differences between these two lenses on the job and make an informed decision. Thanks for the comment! "My main lens is actually the Sigma 14-24, so fair to assume that I'm bringing some bias towards the 12mm. That being said, 12mm still just feels too wide in my opinion for most shots. You're right that I could move the tripod, but in my tests the objects tend to distort even more, personally I didn't find it useful. My intention isn't to steer anyone towards the 16-35, my hope is that this video helped you make a more informed decision if you were considering buying one of these lenses."
Nice vid thanks! Subbed.
Awesome, thank you!
Of course, when you frame every shot for 16m, and the try to apply 12m to it, the composition will be off. Sounds like you’re just trying to come up with an excuse not to buy the 12-24m, fine, fair game, but really what you should be doing is reframing that gets the best out of the lens’ you’re using. Framing for 12m lets you get closer to subject while showing more, in small tight spaces this is a boon, not a deterrent. You shot for 16, not for 12, doesn’t make sense.

😕Wow no FX-3? I still liked and subscribed :3
Thanks for the sub! This video is for hybrid Real Estate Photo & Video shooters. The A7S3 is my top recommendation, which has the same sensor as fx3, plus an EVF which I can't live without. Maybe if you were doing video only... but for a hybrid workflow, the fx3 doesn't make sense to me.
@@fulltimerep The Sony A7Siii changed the Camera industry and is still one of the best (video) cameras ever made years later for its intended audience.
What drone do you recommend for a 1st time user. But it takes good quality photos
Honestly I'd get a DJI Mini 4 or if you want to save money and go for the mini 3. Shoots vertical which is useful for social media, under 250 grams so there's less regulation, easy to fly and cheaper to replace if you crash. You can also pick up a used Mavic 2 Pro for cheap at this point and those are still great drones IMO.
Can you help me find one for the Nikon z6II? I’m so lost 😢
you'd need a z-mount lens and it will crop 1.5x when shooting 4k60 video. So you'd probably want a 10-20mm zoom lens to for switching back and forth from photo to video. The closest I could find from Nikon was the NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ VR
After 15 years shooting RE as a full-time job, I never have agents or vendors care about issues like 'the light and panel distorting' differences you show here...I think we really do fuss over the most minor issues that most people wouldnt notice.
I absolutely agree. I think most of my clients don't even realize the difference when I switch between HDR and Flash. But I wanted to be thorough for this review.
Would you recommend the Nikon z6II? And what lens would be good?
Nikon makes great cameras but I haven't followed their ecosystem in recent years. The Z6II seems legits, priced well, the main thing to be aware of a 1.5x crop when shooting 4K60 Video.
3:55 This is terrible advice. Do you ever tilt your head?
not sure what you mean here. we don't want to tilt the lens because keeping straight vertical lines is important for the composition.
@@fulltimerep Photoshop - CTRL + SHIFT + A - "Geometry" - A (auto)
Also 6:18 ISO 640 has more dynamic range than ISO400 on Sony
Excellent video. Great job 🎉
thanks!
Realistically you'll need to drop $15,000 for the equipment for a competitive real estate photography business. Cheap gear is not profitable unless you think spending 3 times as long per shot and getting paid less than $10.00 an hour is profitable. Expensive gear directly relates to less time on site. You'll need to be able to do photos, video and floor plans. Minimum. You'll need 2 lenses. Minimum. You'll need a good tripod, polarizing filter, ND filters, a drone, a full frame camera, AD200 strobe, 50m laser telemeter, a notebook computer with awesome graphics and a solid camera bag. With out these you will take too long on site and the results will not lead to repeat business. TH-cam channels that tell you you can use cheap kit are not being straight with you. Buying cheap equipment is throwing your money away. I bought all the cheap stuff and 6 months later had to replace with the good stuff. But if earning $10 an hour is your goal go for it. Almost all TH-cam real estate photography channels make money from affiliate links. Not from profitable real estate photography businesses. With just a camera you got nothin.
I'm sorry you weren't to start a profitable business but can guarantee it wasn't because of equipment... Creatives often get hung up on equipment and ignore business development completely. We get stuck in the trap of thinking gear is holding us back, when the real problem is that nobody knows our business even exists. Replace the time you spend worrying about your equipment with business development (contacting agents, brokerages, attending networking events, etc) and I promise you will see results. If you want help with this, just email me with directly and I'll gladly get you moving in the right direction!

This was a great video. I'm not a beginner but it helps answer some things i have always struggled with. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
how do you put together 5 photos in lightroom or photoshop?
Select them, right click, HDR merge
In Lightroom you can use the Auto-HDR merge feature. As user-oh4 said, you would group them into Stacks by Capture Time, then hit CTRL + H for HDR Merge. Editing is done manually in photoshop and hard to explain here. Will post some editing content soon!
So informative video .. professional explanation 😊 Thanx buddy ❤
you bet!
Thank you for this useful info, specially for beginners like me, do you also have a video that covers the editing? specially when you use bracketing
Thanks for the comment! I have some editing content coming soon.
Something wrong with previous video?
Nope! Just updated a few graphics
Great video dude. Hope all is well!
Thanks! You too!
Game changer! This drone is my secret weapon 🤫
ooops... not so secret any more! 😁
I have been shooting most my properties with the 14mm Gmaster. But since watching your lens comparisons, I have returned to the 16-35 Gmaster. It's not as wide, but it looks way more realistic. The 16-35mm is an amazing lens.
Yeah the zoom gives you more framing options than the prime. I've been playing around with semi-wide 18-24mm shots to get a more editorial look in the right situation. Another plus of the zoom lens is when I used to shoot with a 15mm prime I had to re-position the tripod frequently.
The 35mm Gmaster is my choice for tights. I use clear image zoom if I need to go tighter. Great video man. Keep them coming.
Nice man back at you! good call on the clear image zoom, thats something I haven't played around with. zooming on the 24-70 GM has fried my gimbal motors more than once.
Definitely give it a go. It can save you a bit of time 👊
