honestly this is a constant thing with many fromsoft games they try to make a weapon class that is "high damage" or "high shield damage" or some combination, make it short range so it's "faster" than heavier weapons but gives them the same range as faster lighter weapons. It's like how many times will they try and see that it basically doesn't work. The solution is simple, weapons need to have more good than bad to be enjoyable to use right now hammers picks and flails have these issues - Slow attacks for their size - terrible range that makes attacks harder to hit than daggers - Not enough damage to justify their shorter attack range - No good unique AOW to use and can't take advantage of good generic AOW +Deal more stamina damage +Do in fact on average deal more damage (its not much) +? look neat All they need to do is give these weapons the light greatsword treatment Making them longer range buff their damage up but keep their current speed. Or they could give them hyperarmor on start up on heavies or something so the game plan can focus on trades. Then give them AOW's that are unique. Hell they could have a unique endure aow that can be activated mid combo that lets you keep your spot in your combos or an ash that instantly breaks guards or does a heavy stun if it counter hits an enemy allowing for a follow up. They just have to care like... a little bit about something other than swords

Was so upset to see how bad warpick was in ER, it was solid in ds3

The warpick is a weird weapon that has no good place in pvp. It's similar to the weathered straight sword which is slightly better. I just think sometimes Fromsoft puts weapons in the game for a place to add flavor text. It doesn't matter if it sucks. It just has to be collectible so players can read that lore drop.

People who need long range weapons in a 1v1 have low iQ

That fight at the end was great from both sides. I particularly love the roll catch at 5:23, it made me audibly go "OO". Also side note but just wondering but wouldnt sleep grease instead of lightning grease work better with the sleep pots?

Finally, after so many years of no mace arena videos on youtube, someone has shown the world how sick this weapon is! Mace and hand axe is what I'm running right now, but I also like mace and shield bash. Adds to the guessing game.

You gave us so many cool stuff but keep the same animations. I wish mace could just penetrate armor and shield make players bounce off to secure guard counters. That would make it more viable and right now shields are kinda... Meh. In pvp that is. Not bad, but eeeeeeh

Always find it odd how despite having more weight, this weapon class still have less forward momentum compare to other small weapons.

Mace my beloved <3. Shield is a pretty decent option, but for me, the way i play it is with an off-hand halberd, usually commander's standard, so with that i will fill the lack of range of the mace and the lack of hyper armor of the halberd (while 1 handing it). But it's been a while since i played that build, i'll give it a try again. Also, good idea equiping kick on it, not many people expects the hyper armor on the heavy attack, less people will expect the kick on it.
