I can believe in physics, chemistry and biology, and conclude the reported resurrection never happened. Or I can imagine that second and third hand anonymous reports from ignorant, superstitious, credulous (and largely illiterate, innumerate) peasants inna backwater of the Roman Empire in the first century CE are true descriptions of actual events. If I believe this folk tale, I have no reason to suppose that the emperor Vespasian did not cure a blind man by wiping his eyes with spit, or cure a lame man by nudging him with his foot.
Prof. Tour has some terrific scientific work to his credit: his expertise in nano-tech and graphene is undeniable . He has made a name for himself criticizing research into origins of life. (He often gets apoplectic on this subject. I worry about his heart health.) I don’t have the maths to challenge his POV, which seems to be a claim that the origin of life problem is a priori unsolvable. I don’t have the knowledge that other chemists disagree profoundly. Tour’s alternative to the emergence of life is to deny that life could have natural causes, and to call in the supernatural. I do not know that believers understand the consequences of this “move”. A very great consequence is that the move renders all scientific theories to the dustheap. Following Hawking’s simple definition (Brief History), let us say that a scientific theory is a mental model of the universe or some part, formally defined, with a set of rules that map from quantities in the theory to observations. Really good theories encompass large amounts of phenomena, depend on a few axiomatic generalizations, and make very precise predictions. I point out that “making predictions” logically entails that the theory must forbid an infinite number of things from happening. If we observe just one event forbidden by the theory, we know it is empirically wrong. We must revise the theory, or throw it in the dustbin. If we have two theories, T1 and T2, identical in every way except that T1 includes an omni god of the sort that Tour believes in, we can see the consequences. T1 and T2 make exactly the same predictions and forbid exactly the same infinite set of phenomena-except that T1 allows the god to break the laws of nature whenever it wishes to do so. Thus, in fact, T1 cannot make any predictions, it cannot forbid anything, it cannot explain anything. T1, the sort of theory that Tour favours, is the counsel of despair. “When anyone tells me, that he saw a dead man restored to life, I immediately consider with myself, whether it be more probable, that this person should either deceive or be deceived, or that the fact, which he relates, should really have happened. I weigh the one miracle against the other; and according to the superiority, which I discover, I pronounce my decision, and always reject the greater miracle.” Hume, Human Understanding, 10.2.91.
Can any being accept without question that the impossible is possible? To ask that question is to answer it. Headless corpses do not walk and talk, so the re3surrection lie was a particularly stupid lie to invent, not least of the grounds of possibilty but also because it fails the relevance test; the only inference to be drawn from such a lie is that its inventers and propagaters i of such a lie were particularly hostile towards of what ever the teaching of christ consisted- which is undiscoverable; the inventers and propaters of the resurrection lie clearly had no understanding of relevance, and were clearly hostile towards whatever way or method christ was trying to promulgate. All those capable of knowledge or direct immediate personal experience know for a certainty that the dead *Remain* dead( no longer experiencing anything for want of an experiencing apparatus. Ther is no essential difference between saying that Jesus rose from the dead and saying that he ate his own head or stood on his own shoulders all of which are equally impossible. If you are(for whatever reason) going to invent something, it might not be a bad idea to ensure that your invention is both possible, and relevant, and the resurrection lie is neither. Deliberately provoking others into crucifying you is a particularly queer way of going about committing suicide. those fools clearly do not understand that fraith(which is a subtle psycholigal skil and that form of dreaming that is belief, are as much alike as a nail is like a requiem, and demonstrate the stupefying effect of religion(any world view based on any set of related *unquestioned beliefs assumptions , presumptions and norms[all that good/evil, right/wrong, morality/ethics monkey business or mumbic jum] Not_Necessarrily* adverting to the god fantasy) {there being plenty of religions that either no not advert to the god fantasy or which are specifically atheistic} The ass claiming to have " faith in science" clearly has no idea what faith is nor what he seeks to convey by the word science-with the meaning of which word he is plainly unfamiliar, and he is a fcuk-the commandments an anthropomorphic idolater, to say nothing of being innocent of any kind of intellectual or rhetorical, ability or accomplishment whatsover.

Dr. James Tour got this wrong. The resurrection is described in Matthew 28:1-10, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12, and John 20:1-18. All gospels were written late, so late that there were no eye witnesses alive any more: Mark around 70 CE, Matthew around 85 CE, Luke between 85 and 95 CE, John between 90 and 100 CE. Keep in mind, the life expectancy was 25 years at that time.
Dr James Tour is a staunch believer in Christ. Not sure why he interviewed Sadhguru in India who worships Hind religion and this guru is misleading common people and not promoting our Messiah Yeshua nor preaching bible to the people.
Wonder 🤔why the Lord called home Nabeel so soon , given the fact that he was so passionately defending the cause for the Kingdom of God. And so many who he would have caused to be led to the Lord, esp. from the Muslim community .
'God never says NO He only says WAIT I have better plan for you'. Something let me understand that he has gone home earlier because better to die by sickness than to kill by someone.
@@khiungritolims7971 ok this too makes some sense.

Read Jürgen Habermas on the Resurrection.
Ellen Kramer can resurrect people from the dead on an absolute serious note. So everything is scientific like e.g. teleportation, all those sciences is illegal to disclose. Some Info: 1. Other prophets 2. Jesus(AS) 3. Muhammed (PBUH) 4. Imam Ali(AS) 5. other Imams (AS) They all 5 used exactly the same method as Ellen Kramer is which is Jinn assistant for their work or show miracles, so miracle is also 1000.00% scientific technically speaking. How did they the above 5 get those information to do it? [(This information can not be disclosed)]. sorry man. They were taught. (You are simply not going to believe me I find it hard to believe my self the information I'm getting, I've figured out etc... its so dynamic, I need it lay it out). There are 9 dimensions or more but we've been told its only 3 or 4. It is all absolute scientific, curing the blind by Jesus is scientific, raising the dead is scientific, cutting a person half and keeping both bodies alive is scientific, anything you have in mind right now is all 100.00% scientific including "Sin". Its soo complicated to explain but it can be explained. Time travel is also scientific beyond you can think off. Anything and everything i'll talk more about it later... (God is infinity just like how the number Pie goes on literally forever, this is just an example unrelated to God). Obviously the scientific community does know this from my side what I'm talking about but some are allowed to say :) and some are just not. (time and place and purposes).
😂😂😂😂😂 you are brainwashed
Very powerful in all ways.
I think I've watched just about every piece of content with Nabeel on TH-cam that I could find. The amount of admiration and love I have for him is unreal. It's just too saddening that I never got to see and appreciate him while he was still alive. I'm glad his wonderful sermons are still around so that I may find comfort in them. May God bless you, Nabeel, and your loved ones for the amazing work you did here with the very limited time you had. 🙏❤️
He quotes various apostles BUT how many have seen writings or indeed even heard of Jude and Jame's writings? No? well that is because Eusebius decided to edit them out of the rather longer version in the early 300's. And what did they say/write about this miracle of resurrection, well Eusebius made sure we didn't know! And THIS is the book from which Dr. Tour is QUOTING!
What a pity that a man who has done so much for science feels the need to fall back on one of the religions in order to live his life. I have NEVER had the need for religion of any kind - I have never felt the lack and, although I understand why many feel the need to follow any one of a vast number of religious beliefs, few have raised the subject " why bother?" Why do people bother to chose and then follow "teachings" that are very obviously second hand accounts from those with a, to me, had a need to seek a reason for their existence? Any of the books which "detail" either the start of man and his world or insert some "saviour or prophet" have been altered many times since the supposed time of the inception of the original playing of the events described - Tour has often said or implied - 'don't believe what you see written by others - be sceptical and critical' why can he not bring this same objective view to his view on religion?
Feeling a "need" for something has absolutely no bearing on whether that something is true or not. Your subjective experience also has no bearing on objective truths which are external to you. It seems rather hypocritical for you to then ask Dr Tour to bring an "objective view to his view on religion." It also falsely assumes that he has not. As for the Christian texts being altered, textual critics have already examined this, and the degree of alteration is so minor that it has no bearing on any doctrinal claim of significance.

You did not include my comments so it is difficult to respond. I do remember making a comment on alterations to the bible - I mentioned ONE of the many faults of the book. It has so many contradictions old and new testaments and has been very obviously written and re-written by so many hands that there is little credence to be placed in any of it. I have no idea what 'subjective experience of mine you refer to - are you referring to my life? Objective truths again are not explained. Sorry but no "objective response is possible - please quote me on the original comment. My view on the subject is that there is a lot in evolution that can not yet be explained but that is something that Tour admits many times. Quoting the bible when ending a lecture on the subject is biased. He advises and lectures on his religion and says he is a scientist ; no problem with being both - belief is not objective.
@@htlein Why do I need to requote your comments when they are on TH-cam? I responded to what you wrote. I can read your comment, why can't you? The Bible is not a "book." It is a collection of 66 books written by numerous authors utilising a range of genres. You say there are so many contradictions, but 1) you don't provide one example, and 2) do you know how many non-contradictions there are? Why not mention all the accurate information in the biblical sources? Your failure to do so demonstrates that you have an anti-biblical bias and therefore your views on this subject are of little value. What is your evidence that the biblical sources have been "written and re-written by so many hands." This is a typical atheist cliche. However, textual critics, who are the experts in this field, don't agree with you. So why should I take your opinion seriously, when it contradicts the scholarship? "Quoting the Bible when ending a lecture on the subject is biased." That is a ridiculous comment. Everything you have written has a bias. Does that mean you don't believe what you've written. If not, why should I take you seriously? The veracity of a person's belief will depend on the quality of the evidence for that belief. You believe many things about the Bible which are false. So, your subjective belief is of little value when it comes to discussing the Bible. Dr Tour has spent a lot of his time studying the evidence for Christianity, having formerly been a non-Christian. That makes his beliefs more credible, because he has examined the evidence supporting Christian claims for himself.
@@mrff5370 "Why do I need to requote your comments when they are on TH-cam? I responded to what you wrote. I can read your comment, why can't you?" 1)If you were the only person to respond to any comment I have ever made - you would be correct - quite apart from common courtesy, I do not have the time to scroll through hundreds of comment to find yours. "The Bible is not a "book." It is a collection of 66 books written by numerous authors utilising a range of genres." 2) if you consider that chapters in any book are books by themselves, well yes, i suppose you are correct. However, why then is the whole of the bible printed as one book? "You say there are so many contradictions, but 1) you don't provide one example, and 2) do you know how many non-contradictions there are? " 3) how about one glaring contradiction - an eye for an eye and do no evil to men paraphrased for my convenience. You wish for examples and state that there are many non-contradictions which you do not show in examples. "What is your evidence that the biblical sources have been "written and re-written by so many hands." Do you have ANY idea how many times the bible has changed in language alone! Are you seriously asking me to take for granted that none of these translators left out, misinterpreted or added or shaded words or whole sentences in their translation! Over 30,000 changes were made, of which more than 5,000 represent differences between the Greek text used for the Revised Version and that used as the basis of the King James Version. Translated into about 3,500 languages. The Apocrypha consists of 14 books that were ultimately excluded from the biblical canon. The original papyrus scrolls no longer even exist! ""Quoting the Bible when ending a lecture on the subject is biased." That is a ridiculous comment. Everything you have written has a bias. Does that mean you don't believe what you've written. If not, why should I take you seriously?" 4) It may be that we are now referring to a different subject - I referred to a lecture on the inconclusive evidence presented by many so-called Darwinists regarding the tremendous unlikelihood of an adequately mixed batch of substances to end u with life. Wonderfully argued by the good Dr. who repeated over and over "we just don't know" with reference to the how. My comment was one I frequently make on that lecture - he takes us through the science in a truly admirable manner with no end of statistics having started the lecture with (paraphrased)the statement "this is not about god and yet ends with a quote from the bible! "The veracity of a person's belief will depend on the quality of the evidence for that belief. " But , what you have not gleaned from these interchanges is - I do not need "belief" - so a truth good, bad or indifferent does not juxtapose itself in this concept. What you "believe" can't be questioned but do not STATE that your belief has any version of veracity or verisimilitude in anybody else's version of "belief" which you see to be implying. I do not "believe" anything about the bible and to present as any form of evidence an obviously well revered erudite and plainly gifted man of scientific intelligence who non the less does "believe" in something that is patently not provable - he was not "there" for any of the events he "believes" in and so must rely on versions many times altered and many times disputed by those who have spent their lives in theological and comparative biblical refutation seems to me to be, again, a second hand presentation of a subject about which you should, if your conviction is so strong, be ready and able to present to anyone in a coherent fashion to someone who has a value in an OBJECTIVE viewpoint. I hold NO subjective views on either any of the myriad religions or books pertaining thereto - I hold no reason to consider them a requirement for myself.
@@mrff5370 "What is your evidence that the biblical sources have been "written and re-written by so many hands." This is a typical atheist cliche. " Just a little comment on this - if you insist on labelling people, you should not mind if people label you - blind faith is just that : blind. I do not label myself in any format - since none either fit my views nor describe my attitudes
These three pieces of "evidence" Nope - this is NOT evidence and as a man of science, the good Dr. should not state them as such!
You don't get to decide what is historical evidence.
The key word here surely is "believe" - I do NOT believe that the sun rises in the west - each day I have conformation BUT if it rises one day in the west then I am quickly going to have to THINK, no believe, that something has gone wrong even if I don't KNOW what it is!
I admire Tour greatly for his work in science and humanity, BUT PURLEEZE! 1) scholars in religion agree that jesus rose from the dead! How about that! The muslim religion originated from a bodyguard/mercenary who could neither read nor write - ALL of the koran is written at least second and third hand from what others had noted, "remembered" or thought they had heard. So how (in this particular case) can present day scholars agree on fictional writings from at best second or more hand teachings? Don't forget that jesus was WAY earlier than mohammed! Sorry Dr Tour but in order to be clinically correct, you should not make wild and unfounded statements!
Belief without obedience is only hollow words. You cant have faith in someone, without also having faith in his message, & Christ said 'not all that call me lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY THOSE THAT DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN' Jesus replied, “ANYONE WHO LOVES ME WILL OBEY MY TEACHING. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LOVE ME WILL NOT OBEY MY TEACHING. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.(John 14:23-24) "He became the source of eternal life for all that OBEY him" (Hebrews 5:9) By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. IF ANYONE SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, HE IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: WHOEVER CLAIMS TO ABIDE IN HIM MUST WALK AS JESUS WALKED (1John 2:3-6) EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS HOPE IN HIM PURIFIES HIMSELF, just as Christ is pure. EVERYONE WHO PRACTICES SIN PRACTICES LAWLESSNESS AS WELL. Indeed, sin is lawlessness. But you know that Christ appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin. NO ONE WHO REMAINS IN HIM KEEPS ON SINNING. NO ONE WHO CONTINUES TO SIN HAS SEEN HIM OR KNOWN HIM. Little children,LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU: THE ONE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, JUST AS CHRIST IS RIGHTEOUS. THE ONE WHO PRACTICES SIN IS OF THE DEVIL, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.ANYONE BORN OF GOD REFUSES TO PRACTICE SIN, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. BY THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE DISTINGUISHED FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: ANYONE WHO DOES NOT PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, NOR IS ANYONE WHO DOES NOT LOVE HIS BROTHER.

Saint Nabeel Qureshi , a man I never met I considered one of my best friends
So the New Testament wants us to believe in the highly unlikely event that a human being resurrected from death, provides 4 "historical" accounts of the event that is not mentioned elsewhere in history books. But even the 4 accounts conflict with each other?? - The 4 gospels don't all mention the immaculate conception, don't all mention the three wise men visiting the baby, don't agree on what happened between Jesus and John the Baptist, don't agree on the genealogy of Jesus, don't agree on who saw the resurrected Jesus...yet we are to somehow believe that what they say about an event that is extremely unlikely to happen, has happened. - If Jesus/God loved us so much that he died for our sins, why would he link this sin forgiveness to believing in an extremely unlikely event with so few eyewitnesses? Couldn't he forgive our sins without us having to believe in this supernatural event? And if he wanted to make sure everyone knows that it happened, couldn't he stay and meet us all, or at least fly supernaturally to all nations to make sure everyone got the memo (the most important memo in history)? - So you'd rather bypass your brain and believe in all this unlikely history, rather than challenge yourself, and think that most likely what happened is that Jesus' disciples believed he was the Messaiah and that he would not die before fulfilling Old Testament prophecies about bringing a new utopian world...but he was killed before any of it happened....so history was rewritten afterwards to prove that Jesus was a new kind of Messiah who is a magical baby God able to resurrect from the dead to forgive sins?

All religions are not only wrong but dangerous, don't make the mistake of brainwashing your children, just because you were brainwashed. " Man would be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by FEAR of punishment and hopes of reward after death. "
That’s not Christ, sorry Christ died so that we may live, your fear is of your own lack of understanding

No, because the bible is man-made fiction back in the bronze age when people still thought the Earth was flat. Does that mean God doesn't exist? Of course not. God exists, but God is not about religion.
Tour is a grifter. He has sold his soul to shill for organizations like the the Discovery Institute; a religious organization dedicated to promoting creationism over evolution as an explanation for the diversity of life. He directs his criticisms of abiogenesis, a field he does not work in, to an audience of creationist believers to bolster their confidence and promote science denialism. A serious scientist would simply publish their criticisms in the proper journals, collecting Nobel prizes and research grants along the way. He is lying for clicks. Full stop.

Hello - After healing the son of Pilate, Jesus was removed from the Cross before He could die. By prior arrangement he passed into the hands of His herbalist Doctor Uncle Josephus who treated Him for three days, after which He rose. He lived to be 120 years of age. He was never meant to be MURDERED by His Father, who was horrified at the Crucifixion. Sins are expiated through karmic absolution and the many incarnations we have all signed up for our spiritual development to the 5D Alpha frequency in body and soul in order to EARN ascension and immortality. Throughout the Bible, we read how God sometimes chooses the most unlikely people do His work. And in these instances, people are amazed (at the time and even now when we read about who He chooses). David was one of those most unlikely of people. When Samuel arrived at Jesse’s home with all his son’s, he was looking for David…the scrawny kid who he was going to anoint to be King of Israel after Saul. Even Saul wasn’t going to respect that David was God’s choice. And Apostle Paul (once Saul, the Pharisee) would’ve been the absolute last person one would believe God chose to preach about Jesus and set up the various Churches from scratch. He walked approximately 10,000 miles on these missions. Even today, the Lord knows who he needs to spread the Gospel. When Dr. Tour was a young boy at his Bar Mitzvah, he never knew (and people today can hardly believe) that he’d be chosen to speak to countless people to give his testimony to about his life as a man of science and his love of the Lord. With the number of scientists telling us that they’ve created life, Dr. Tour uses that issue to tell people in layman’s terms how they most certainly not even come close.
People are ignorant snd gullible. They have been deceived by 27 fake snd fabricated books in the New Testament, secretly invented by the Roman Empire in the fourth century, full of lies, counterfeits, forgeries, fables, sham, scam, fraud, fables, quackeries, fallacies, cozenage, falsifications and falsehoods.
Unfortunately, Tour presented the claims in the bible as if they were the evidence for the claims. That is demonstrable nonsense. It is like claiming that Harry Potter exists because there are books about him that are consistent. His 'god' thing is therefore as real as Harry Potter is and no rational person believes that Harry Potter is a real person.
The historical evidence that 10 of the 12 apostles died as martyrs is very questionable. However even if true, this doesn't prove that believed in the resurrection. They may have been lying about the resurrection until one day they were murdered because they were known to be Christians. And liars. This is would be the same "proof" as the martyrdom of Joseph Smith Jr, the founder of Mormonism.
