Although active duty, Greg have dedicated my life to fitness.
In 2019, I started this fitness journey as a basketball trainer for kids and high schoolers. It wasn’t until I took a step back from basketball training that I realized that my love for fitness wasn’t necessarily in sports but the physical training and transformation aspect of it is what I really loved. So in 2022 during my 7 month deployment I dove into different resources in order to transform my own body and mind so that I can use it as an example for others. And as a result I ended up losing 49 pounds!
Now using the knowledge I gained from my own transformation I uses this to help others lose weight as well as help them become more athletic! I provide tons of Weightloss/Athletic performance workouts tailoring both those who workout from home as well as those who workout in the gym.

All the factors you should consider to determine your enlistment in the military. Items 1 and 2 are the most important the rest should be ranked in accordance to preference and what is applicable. 1. What your eligible for : based on health , ASVAP score, if a MOS requires vision proficiency, if you are color blind, education, age, physical health, criminal history, ability to get a security clearance, some jobs can be ruled out if your credit score is bad or you have a lot of debt, citizen or legal immigrant status, some jobs height, some jobs weight, driver’s license, driving record, if you can swim. 2. Your willingness to sign on a certain day. This is the most powerful toll at your disposal. Yes certain jobs are first come first serve and might not be available at a later point in time but certain jobs may be available to you on a different date. Keep in mind willingness to take ASVAP test again can play a factor especially if you score higher than the previous time you took the exam. 3. The longevity of commitment you are willing to make. It is 8 years of your life you are committee to and the military needs you more than you need them 4. What benefits your state offers? Some states have great education benefits and some states the benefits suck and your better off moving for 6 months somewhere else or doing reserve / national guard somewhere else and establishing your residency in another state that has good benefits and then going active duty there. Or doing jobcorp for 6 months in another state 5. Choice of duty station (consider factors like nightlife, heavy deployments , access to public transportation, things to do, male to female ratio in that city, cost of living at location 6. If you have a car or willingness to get a car 7. Compliance with protocol for getting something like a pathway to citizenship, family medical insurance, court order to not go to jail or have something on criminal record 8. How a particular job will translate to civilian life. (consider transferring for civilian education , hiring points, transferable skills ect..) 9. How fulfilled you will feel at that job if you want to have longevity in the military 10. Level of risk to health and safety you want a job to have. Some people crave danger and risk some do not. 11. How much money that you are offered 12. Willingness to be deployed oversees 13. Opportunity to get for civilian education while in the military 14. Opportunity to earn rank while as a civilian (base on education, recruiting military personal to enlist or meeting recruiter criteria 15. Finical opportunities of duty station either to save or to use as an opportunity to explore civilian opportunities in that location. 16. If you have IEP or 504 and how the military can impact it 17. Pre existing medical issues 18. How a particular duty station may impact wife, kids and family’s life 19. How much English you know 20. How you feel about politicians in office and how your rights are maintained or compromised.
I would say waste 5 years of your life doing nothing going nowhere as a civilian and think about what’s 4 yrs in the military like honestly think about it it’s the military your gonna be deployed and away from certain life aspects so why complain when that times comes
I’m bout to talk to a recruiter bc this life is straight trash
First of all if you are married or in a relationship don’t join . You will be separated all the time. Second you better like water and ships because you are probably going on one . Third you better be able to handle long hours in crappy jobs your first couple years. Carrier veteran deployed twice .
The ceiling comments are spot on my guy! And the time. Im at 20 years and i can total agree with those sentiments, i tell junior members the same thing.
I retired from the Navy as a Chief in 2009, If I could do it over again I would go Merchant Marine, I was on a oceanographic ship for a year and we enlisted I was E-5 got 2 man staterooms like officers, white table cloth mess tables food served by stewards, Go Merchant and make 2 -3 times the pay, Or just work 6 months on, then 6 Off.
Thanks for the suggestion, definitely going to check it out
That baby is PRECIOUS!
Thank you !
That’s my favorite part. The cons lol
I respect the ones who were denied entry for one reason or another. They can live their lives knowing the choice above them.
Even if you do not get accepted. Let the government make that choice. Your is to show up.
If you are lucky enough to be on this country. Please try and join.
I DONOT CARE ABOUT HOW RICH YOU ARE OR HOW WEALTHY YOU ARE YOU ARE STILL GOING TO PAY YOUR DUES YOU DO IT LEGALLY OR ILLEGALLY THE WRONG WAY OR THE RIGHT WAY YOU ARE STILL ARE GOING TO PAY YOUR DUES THEIRS NO WAY AROUND IT & TIME WAITS ON NO ONE NO CAPPING
THAT WHY I TELL PEOPLE THAT ARE THINKING A OUT GOING INTO THE MILITARY YOU BETTER MAKE SURE YOU WANT TO GO IN & IF YOU ARE NOT SURE DO NOT "F" W/ IT THE MILITARY & ANOTHER THING THE SAME BS YOU DEAL W/ IN THE MILITARY IS GOING TO BE THE SAME BS YOU DEALING W/ ON A CIVILIAN JOB NO CAPPING
THE BIGGEST NUMBER 1 REASON FOR THE PEOPLE THAT JOIN & GET KICKED OUT IS BC THAT PERSON WAS NOT SURE THEY WANTED TO JOIN IN THE FIRST PLACE SO WHEN YOU GO INTO THE MILITARY W/ THIS I AM NOT SURE I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION THOSE ARE THE MAIN PEOPLE GETTING THEMSELVES KICKED OUT THE MILITARY & THEN AS THE YEARS ARE GOING BY & THEY ARE MUCH OLDER & NOW THE SOB WANTS TO FIGHT FOR HIS OR HERS MILITARY BENEFITS NOW REALITY STARTING TO SET IN AS YOU GET OLDER MEANING THOSE BENEFITS COMES IN HANDY AS YOU GET OLDER NO CAPPING
Black men in the Navy, NEVER shave 🪒 it’s absolutely ridiculous, walking around with beards 🤦🏻♂️
You’re clearly someone that doesn’t understand the struggle of BLACK man with shaving. Do ya research as to why before you speak on something you don’t know
@@Gregdarez it’s 2024, NOT 1964. The technological advancements in skin care and lasers PROVES that everyone should shave. Instead they walk around looking like Boyz II Men or some R&B band.
@Gregdarez first of all, you should refrain from using the phrase “black man and struggles” , everyone in this country is sick of hearing about “the black man’s struggles”. Secondly, it’s 2024, NOT 1964, the technological advancements in skincare and lasers PROVE that everyone can shave.

good video, thinking about joining the navy
do most people like their jobs and also if you are in off duty how is that do you feel safe
Honestly some people like they job and some don’t. It’s usually hit or miss.
Also be careful navy will put you on THU after boot camp and pretty bad there
The voice in my head saying "you got more" is the true MVP.
What religious accommodation could I get for my dreads I am a Rasta
I’m not sure bro, I haven’t seen anyone Rasta in the navy yet tbh. That’s something you’d have to look into
Thanks man
Of course anytime !
Yo, I’m 28, and I meet the Special Warfare fitness standards, minus my swim times. I’ve reconsidered going for Combatant Diver and I’m pushing for Navy Diver or Corpsman (Greenside) now. My only issue is that I was a tattoo documentarian, and as such have accumulated quite a few tattoos, I ran through them all today and I have exactly 50 tattoos. I already know I have to censor the three naked ladies I have (exposed breast), but I’m wondering if four tattoos featuring knives will fully disqualify me when I get to MEPS or if I can get waivers for them. I understand that tattoos can affect Officer positions, though sleeves have been recently approved. My number one goal is to achieve Master Diver Status and hopefully get a second contract in training future divers and Buds candidates, so hopefully I haven’t set the bar too high for myself, considering the tattoos I’ve accumulated working as a civilian. I have no gang affiliations, no criminal record or history, no drug use or affiliations, and no extremist or white supremacist affilitions, nor do any of my tattoos fall in line with them. Do you come across guys with images of swords or knives tattooed in the service? Apologies for the long winded comment, I’ve actually had a hard time finding videos with commentary from post-Covid.
Yes I see guys with all type of tattoos! I know a lot of people get the majority of their tattoos after they join for sure so the tattoos parts ain’t a problem . I myself had 2 tattoos prior to joining, I ended up getting waivers for them. But in terms of knives you should be straight man, as long as it’s nothing gang related, racist or offensive you should be good.
I joined in 1969. These points you make have not changed.
Civilian life can be boring & mostly unhappy AF. If you're stuck in a dead end job, hometown, relationship or marriage. Since we're individuals it does depends on you. Your own personal goal. In my opinion. Many don't take advantage of the military in return. EX: seeing the doctor often or taking a training class out of your comfort zone. It's something that I would do. Knowing that it's not my interest. But I am a learning new a skill set. Something that the civilian world can never offer. Without putting yourself more in debt or struggling in other ways. 😒 Btw, I am in my 30s will join the Navy next year 2024. Hopefully everything goes well.🤞
Yeah you are right! Hopefully you take advantage of what the navy has to offer, it can and will change your life. Best of luck to you !
Update bro?
@@Gregdarez It’s 2024 and most jobs in Chicago don’t hire. im on debt im running out of options i don’t know what I want to do with my life. Im a pot head and want to quit full turkey and stop for good but it’s so hard. Only way I see if I join the navy my life can change around rather then being stuck here

Amazing and superb video, thank you for this really, but however I wish I saw this sooner before I left. I am now currently in Navy A-School... I really wish I went and have gone Air Force... not too sure wether I have made the right decision or not.
Thank you for watching and your support! Honestly the way I see it is that you may have doubt right now but it’ll work out for you. The universe has you there for a reason, take advantage of the moment and make the best of the situation. Best of luck to you 🙏🏾
Why do you wish you went Air Force you don’t like the water? Best wishes.
@@donald8354 prolly cuz air force cares more ab ur education than any other branch
Speaking as a Navy Veteran... DON'T DO IT!!!! Go to a Trade School instead! If I could do my life over...🙄
Yeah I feel the same sometimes but the universe put us through the navy journey for a reason ! I’m done with that life for sure, but I don’t regret it
@@Gregdarez Regrets are all I have. If I could do it over, I would NEVER have joined the Military at all!
