Did the deer come with a hardware kit? The instructions say their's one but i don't see anything in the box.
they ARE beautiful. The stag almost looks godly with how prismatic and bright he is. However I think combined with more subdued lights and decorations, it might be a bit tacky.
I think you are right. They are bright and colorful. They may clash with more traditional Christmas lights.
Where do the zip ties go? Thanks
I think the zip ties are for wire maintenance. We didn’t use them. But we did have to tuck a lot of the wires in some of the different items. Especially the deer.
We are very small haunters. Mainly pirate themed, but we enjoy a bit of everything. Im curious at what type of lighting you use and where you find the scenes you use from your projector. Those are things i would love to add next year. Good lighting really makes a haunt so much better and draws in people to want to stop and check out the haunt. Great job on everything you've done! Yall keep up the great work! Love the vids!
Thank you! We primarily use these outdoor lights from Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5ZKQNTB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 We plan on making a video in the future to go more in depth on the lights we use, and how we set them up. For the projection show, that's a mixed bag. Some of it is homemade, and other parts are from different sites and services. I've used Atmos FX, Artlist.io, Adobe, and ProductionCrate.
I can smell this video. Lol Great comparison between a wet ice cooler and the water mist chiller. Also, thanks for showing homemade fog compared to store-bought fog. That was helpful. If you were able to slow that fan down, I think you'd be very Happy with the results. And thanks for the shout out in your description.
The legend himself! I’ve been struggling with fog chillers for a few years. I wasn’t sure about making the leap to a mister, until I saw your setup. I’m sure you noticed a lot of similarities. Now that I know this works well, I’ll probably do a more permanent setup, with the adjustable fan.
Thanks!
Tbh after 10 years of doing our display and watching it grow from a few store bought tombstones, and evolve more when we moved house the excitement grew each year. Id plan stuff out and try to go bigger each year and add loads of new things as I thought that's what was expected. I'd spend most of the summer building and converting props and feel the anticipation build and build until it turned into panic over things like the weather ( it's usually terrible here in the UK in October) which would leave me stressed and burnt out and with several migraines over the week leading to to the big day. Long story short I've suffered with anxiety and depression for many many years and the display was an excellent distraction until it became part of it all. This year after reaching a point (which very nearly became one of not return) I finally sought some help. Which is wonderful for my day to day life but not so for my Haunter life. I literally have had no drive this year. Letting the good weather weekends pass and building nothing. Having some good ideas but not acting on them. I did manage to clad out the inside of the big shed which doubles as our mausoleum with waterproof foam tile sheets in a stone work pattern and put together a plinth that was covered in the same stuff (which btw is a total game changer). The other big thing was I wasn't stressed about setting up or whether the weather was going to be bad as usual. No more watching the weather app from hour to hour. How did I manage this with no drive to do the display? I cut it all back to the basic idea I had in the first place. Canberra Crypt Cemetery. No more extras. Nothing that wouldn't fit a graveyard Halloween theme. Simple but effective. Plus using more outdoor wet weather friendly props helped keep my stress down as it didn't matter if they got wet. I also sold all the props I'd decided didn't fit the theme going forward which gave me the funds to add a couple of nice new items. On the day the weather was fantastic. A bit chilly so we set up the fire pit out front and got some chairs out and kept warm while handing sweets out to the ToTs. All in all it was a great Halloween and it's given me a little of the buzz back with myself and my wife having a few great ideas we can work on together for next year. It's given me a totally new outlook over the whole thing and given it new (un)life. So I totally get he you feel and I can strongly suggest cutting back and focus on one or two elements and make those better than ever before instead of tearing yourself up trying to perfect everything at once. I know Xmas is looming and the decs need doing but after that take a couple of months off. Chill. Relax. Reset. Don't even think about Halloween. Then you might come back refreshed and raring to go. Keep safe and stay spooky ❤ Sorry for the long post and your display looked awesome !!!
Thank you so much for sharing. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Staying creative and having something to build and create has always helped me with my depression as well. But you are absolutely right, when it adds to the anxiety and depression, it’s time to reevaluate. I still love doing the haunt, and the channel. But I need to get back to what I love about it. The excitement of creating something I want to make. Not the dread of having to set up or tear down by deadlines that I’ve created to get content out in time. Or have the display perfect. I think this year we tried to take on more than we could handle. Now I know to spread it out throughout the year, and not do so much. I have a vision for what I want the haunt to evolve into. I just need to be patient and give myself time to get excited. But I am going to take your advice and take some time off after Christmas. Thanks again for sharing.
@@HiddenCreekManorI'm looking forward too seeing what you have in store but yeah take it at a more leisurely pace next year and enjoy it more. You're doing a fantastic job!!!! I've already got a couple of pieces I'm going to try to concentrate on just to add to the overall look. I definitely want a statue of some kind and a bigger sarcophagus tombstone but I'm not going to try to rush both out. The weather will determine what gets made here 😂
That looked like it was so much fun!
Awesome display!! The kids are so cute playing with their light sabers! 🎃
My haunt/display is nothing compared to the size of yours, but we all have our limitations. The disappointment I have this year is the lack of people that came by. It is very depressing and I am questioning if I should even do one next year. How do you get through this sort of times?
Thank you for sharing. I think this is something that a lot of haunters deal with, including us. We were lucky enough to move to a neighborhood that already had a decent amount of trick or treaters. But the first year was still underwhelming. 4 things keep us going, our kids, the neighbors, this channel, and our love for creating. My advice is keep at it. If you enjoy it, that’s what matters. Each year our crowd grows a little more. Hopefully the same happens for you. Keep at it, and good luck.
Which do you find easiest to assemble and did you notice any rusting? Thank you for the video. I loved your in-between graphics too!
Beautiful display! With all the individual cords what do you use to wire/plug them together with?
Thank you! I map out our yard into different zones. Each zone will have an outdoor surge protector with multiple items plugged into it. The surge protectors are all plugged into another device that we can set our timers from. I plan on releasing a video in the future to go more in depth on this.
@@HiddenCreekManor Looking forward to it! I always go Clark Griswold for Christmas (Entire roof, deck, and lawn covered with lights). Kinda tight on cash this season but next year I plan on adding a lot more!
I was there 😂😂
Thanks for coming out!
Hi, could you give me a brief explanation of how you used that program to square the busts, Uncle Thurl? Because I've been trying a lot with those videos and it doesn't work out well for me, and to square the others as well.
I used After Effects to edit the original video and reposition the heads. It can be quite tricky.
Did you have issues with the neck staying attached? We're working on setting ours up and it's almost like the neck piece of the horse wont go all the way in.
I didn’t have issues with the neck. But I did struggle with other parts. I found it quite hard to disassemble at the end of the season as well. When I first tested everything the head worked. But when I set it up in our haunt the head would not light up or move.
Did you do anything to protect the electronics from rain?
On this particular animatronic, there was a hard plastic shell over the electronics box. I didn’t add anything this year. We usually put a cheap raincoat or trash bag over the electrical parts underneath the clothes of the animatronic. We also spray the clothing with scotch guard to try and preserve it as much as we can.
That update looks great! 🎃🐙
It's a shame you didn't show the 2 units combined, smoke machine into mister then into the chiller
You can buy fully perforated and semi perforated (one side) drain pipe
Love the shot of you starring at the camera while waiting for the container to fill with water! I feel your pain.
My pony disappears in the dark and I don’t think anyone really sees it. Going to try getting a spotlight directly on it, but i’m thinking I may need to drybrush some highlights on it to catch the light just a bit.
That’s a great idea. We did have a spotlight shining on it. But it is still hard to see at times. I think a light dry brush would do the trick.
Dress rehearsal.
❤❤❤❤ Fantastic job & story
Here's a tip... Don't measure the trim... Hold it in place and mark it... It will fit much better... My father in law was a master carpenter and always said "never measure if you can mark"
We got hit also in SC pretty bad! I almost done resetting back up all of my Halloween stuff in the yard for Moore Cemetery! I love your setup! 🎃
Love ❤ it son and I will have a go at making it ❤
Where did you buy the laser? Can you drop a link?
Wow! You did an amazing job on your Halloween haunt! 🎃
Thank you! So did you. I checked it out when you shared the link. Love the drone shots. That’s the next toy that I want.
@HiddenCreekManor thank you! You'll love having a drone for your videos. It adds such a cool element.
OMG!!!!!!! We are Jeep people too! We have a 2018 Golden Eagle JKU. We go to Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge every year. We work at the booth Forever Wave.
If we make it to Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion, we will come say hi. We thought about going this year, but our schedule didn’t work this year.
@@HiddenCreekManor It would be lovely to meet you. 😀
Your the best
Kinda surprised you didn't add zero's tombstone from spirit halloween this year. I hope none of your stuff got soaked with all that rain. Stay safe and keep haunting!
My oldest is in Tennessee, and luckily it missed them. Stay safe and haunty!
Dig it
Also did you tighten up the arm bolts when you loosened the wrist?
I left them both loose. But I had to go back and tighten the wrists slightly. When they are too lose, the pin that holds the hand in place slides out.
Did you do the same things to both hands?
I did the same thing with both hands. However, it was a cheap skeleton and one of the arms broke. So he became a one armed pirate steering the ship.
There's an end of Halloween season? I'd have that in my yard all year 😂
You guys are the best!! Thank you so much for this video! Just went to Sam's and wondered how these decorations come in box. Genius video! 💎⛄❄️🎄
Just built mine this week, pro tip, dont be like me and pre paint everything than put it together. I just ended up scratching all the paint up when sliding them in the holes lol. Only thing I have not done yet is the Finials, I need at least 65 and no place local has them for cheap. my PVC peices were the 3/4 interior, 7/8 exterior.
Where did you purchase the ship wheel?
Home Depot's website. $59.00
I use the L bracket and just leave them attached to the fence and then you only need to attach to your columns
Run the fog through a cooler filled with water, and have a 10 head water atomizer on floats inside the cooler. Works so much better than just a regular fog chiller. I even put two, one gallon plastic jugs that I filled with water and froze close to where the fog would exit which helped even more. But we all got to realize that wind is our greatest enemy.
Hi do you have any pictures of this set up?
Good now get your low lying fog and a laser light to really sell the look. Good luck out there! ^^
Thank you. That’s the idea! I wanted to set it all up for the final reveal in this video, but ran out of time. Hopefully you’ll get to see it in a future video!
That came out great!! It's very unique!
What type of Light Blub did you use? It looked awesome, ive tried a few and they just dont look right. Great Build
We ordered them on Amazon. Here’s the link to the ones we used: www.amazon.com/dp/B0B17R47ZT?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
@@HiddenCreekManor: Where can I find those fence posts please? Amazing work on the columns!!!
For that print, what type of filament did you use?
It was a marble PETG filament. Here’s the Amazon link: a.co/d/4XR40mh
That looks so expensive.
Amazing work!!!
Thank you!
Cool Video nice DIY to try for this Halloween. Thank you for sharing.❤
