What Women Would Wear in a World Without Men
Have you ever wondered how fashion might look in a world without men? In this video I’m exploring how societal factors influence how we dress, and analyzing through research & personal opinions how our approach to fashion would change if men were removed from the equation. This video isn’t about hating on men, but rather about looking at the world through the lens of a woman, and how our choices, from lifestyle to fashion, are heavily influenced and affected by patriarchal systems.

During summer I would go shirtless.
Whatever i want unless the other women going to be freaky to then damn
I would be naked.
Underrated🩷🩷
This is an interesting topic. I must say, I would still wear the same. I like knee length cute floral or black dresses and that's basically my whole wardrobe (I even wear them to hike). And that's the practicity that came with age, because I don't want to bother anymore. When I was younger I was hard into roriita fashion. I would wear it shamelessly to college, even when I was studying international relations (a career in which women are expected to wear formal clothing). Anyway, I received some mean comments from other women (I even lost a "friendship", but most of the negative feedback came from men. From laughing at me on the street to telling me that I would never be able to attract a mate (as if that was my sole purpose in life). And most of the time it was other women who would always tell me how cute my clothes were (specially little girls and babushkas ❤). I'm lucky that I don't depend on a corporate job that polices my fashion preferences to make money, I don't depend on how I am perceived by others to survive, and I'm lucky that the way I love to dress nowadays tends to get a neutral reaction from everyone. I like being invisible. I literally dress to see my reflection in any glass on the street 😂 I don't wear any makeup, I don't style my hair, I lift weights because I like having big biceps. I just do what makes me feel comfortable. I missed the point of my comment haha but anyway, I would love to see a world where ever person could wear whatever without being judged or be in danger. I'm sure going outside would be more interesting with all the different styles.
More flowy stuff. No high heels. Bras would be practical as support. Not push up or squishing the boobs. Clothing would be more seasonally based. Lots of dresses and skirts in the summer. Heavy jeans and sweats in the winter.
I would wear all the sexy stuff i want! Everyday would be halloween
I think, sadly, women would still police other women... It would just happen differently.
Halter tops, I love them, but the handful of time's I've worn them out, I had so many scary interacions with men. They literally DO think its okay to harass you based on your clothes. They followed me, and they pulled over on the side of the road to get me into their car, yelling out the car window, etc.. just because of a god damn halter top, I wore during a blazing hot summer day.
a baggy white t shirt, or all cotton nightgown, very comfy all cotton bra at times, and in colder weather sweat pants and hoodie puffy coat. fleecy mocassins or sandals. and... i wear that anyway. i like being comfortable. My typical go to wear is a tee shirt and jeans. but I'd often go unclothed or super baggy tee. oh and total nothing at the beach.
Definitely would express myself way more with my clothes because 99% of haters are men. But if you want my take on this I think men genuinely need to have a upgrade mindset empathy should be a BIG priority in they system some more emotional hormones would make them slightly more human for me personally because if you are a soulless creature I don’t wanna even have the same conversation with you nor in the same room thinking more complex isn’t only something we woman should do thinking beforehand is also something men should do too! You be suprised how loved you be if you’re had empathy calmness kindness and ofc compassion for another person not a trophy to obtain not something to be scared of taking YOURE spot light you’re already in the middle share it with a woman and be a genuine good man is that so hard to understand people want emotional stable man?….ofc I don’t I’m a lesbian but I really hope my friends that are straight get these type of boyfriends who are THERE for them :)
Don't let anyone stop you from dressing for yourself or living for yourself.
Frankly its seems it's also men who hold back men's fashion....😅 I've always felt that men have to dress so drab for masculinity. (In america at least)
In a world without women we'd all be in sweats still. In a world without men women would sexualize each other more than men. There's a psychological reason most women have a worse porn habit than men. You're just allowed to be a perverted woman and not get punished even though you're being just as gross if not worse than any other man. I truly believe women would prefer being sexually assaulted by a woman over a man. The fact is women oppress themselves. Not as in they're their own victim as in their own gender is cannibalizing them but women seem all too happy about it. It's like watching someone being slowly eaten alive as they tell everything is alright. That's how it feels watching women try to solve problems.
I would either be naked or wear pretty, flowing dresses.
In a world without men, I’d dress the exact same way I do now
loving this flood of female-fronted channels dropping the wisdom. thank you! as a woman, we need this! keep talking!
I would wear less but also more extravagant, colorful, campy, gaudy clothing
I would wear... What i wear at home in the summer! Short cute jersey dresses with no bras!!!!! Forever!!!
I don't wear anything for anyone, the clothes i choose to wear is because i feel comfortable in it, not for anyone's gaze or to protect myself from others (unless you mean protect myself from the weather) At home i just wear a colourful traditional hand dyed cotton dress and nothing else as it's extremely comfy, free and don't trigger me cus texture. sometimes i throw on a sweater and an additional skirt on top of the aforementioned dress to keep myself warm cus even though the climate i live in is pretty warm and humid, i have a very cold and low average body temperature and needs to be bundled up for the slightest winds when I'm outside. I wear dresses cus it's more convenient than pants for daily wear and easier to layer on and on with no bulking. I wear pretty dresses or pants whenever I'm in the mood for it but in the end it's just simple plain dresses, layered up properly for no bulking and warmth no matter the unpredictable weather
ID WEAR A WARHAMMER ARMOR TO DEFEND AGAINST ALL THE BEARS ID NEED TO FIGHT
I only wear dresses and skirts, but if men didn't exist, I would actually wear a short skirt during the summer because all of my skirts are knee-length and I usually wear a petticoat or two underneath. In the summer, though, it can be quite hot, especially with this terrible global warming going around. If men didn't exist, I probably would wear a shorter skirt for once without feeling uncomfortable during the summer. I don't understand why men have to sexualize everything we do. What the in the world is going on with their heads? Oh, right. I forgot they don't think with their heads. They only want to think with their stupid pp's. It's very unfortunate and disrespectful. I am a 15 year old girl, and I have had a boy as YOUNG AS 12 YEARS OLD catcall me, and he would ask me for images of me in my bra and nothing else. It's ridiculous. It's not just men anymore. It's little boys now because you have fathers that aren't teaching them to respect ladies and to just be full of lust.
If men didn't exist women would whatever they want whenever they want. Some would were the cutest stuff every, without being scared of being cat called. Others would probably be covered from head to toe without the fear of men saying she is trying to hard and it won't stop men.
The Hijab will be gone when women don't have to "protect men from getting aroused".
Same clothes as now, but without fear.
On fashion, I would have the same preferences I do now if it still existed in the name of morality, practicality and personal tastes. Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should and it ultimately comes from a place of dressing how you want to be perceived. Frankly, women can be just as vicious about physical attributes if not more so. Hostile conditions wouldn't just don't just go away- it would form for other reasons more dire than clothes. (Disagreements, resources, spite, pride, etc.) I'm not looking to be rude but I think this is a very bad topic and just feel strongly about it. This notion implying that men only exist as the root of all of our problems absolutely needs to stop. I don't care about the hypothetical aspect of this. You would absolutely flip your lid if a man presented a topic imagining a world without women, let alone embracing it. Dynamics between men and women are not well right now but topics like this only reinforce the dysfunction.
I was enjoying Will Hitchins' vids when this recommendation showed up. Interesting. I am not the audience for it, obviously, and apologies in advance if I am intruding but its midnight and my mind is half-asleep and half busy working with the premise. A world with no girls for a day would see me in an oversized basketball jersey and very loose airy shorts. The pants, the shoes, the socks, they all go away. I would not have to worry about being presentable to girls or perceived as dressing scandalously (e.g. the loose shorts with boxers underneath somehow equated to exposing myself in public).
Ii wonder if women would actually still want to have big boobs if it wasn't for men? I hear a lot of women saying they want a boob job but not for boys but for the self. How? Big boobs don't look good and they are heavy and annoying and give back ache.
There is no shortage of guys who are into smaller breasts. There's a plurality of us in fact. So there is probably a truth in gals saying they do it for themselves. I would believe them.
@Eanki_ thank you. I really do like small boobs. I wish I had small boobs. Mine are too big and dangly and I hate it. I'd get a reduction if I wasn't terrified of surgery or had anyone to aid me when I'm in recovery
Ok id wear what i want but your fellow women also judge hard af cough girls from my class cough but id go full lolita mode
Also the way women dress is how I'd dress because I find it very attractive anyway but tbh the way women dress today from what I've seen is whereby i can't imagine it being attractive to men because they all wear baggy boring dark clothes so women already where whatever they wear that doesn't appeal to men
As an aroace woman who is currently wearing knitwear that was bought in the men's section, and which I wore to my office job today... I would like to dress like a wealthy English woman from the 1530s. Because why not.
I just dress as I want now so it'd be no different. I can't imagine things being much different if men weren't around. Women can be pretty judgemental and hard on other women. Worse than men
Im worried of the lesbians but most are not so creepy and can control their urges. Im worried about the ppl being so rude but all women i know are respectful. I would wear small small shorts, a small bra top with a transparent thing down lets say that one dti shirt.
Great video! I think in a world without men (speaking about my own position as an American) I would simply dress more inconsistently. I think fashion would still emphasize aesthetics strongly, but it would stop centering around capitalism and patriarchy (let’s be real, even if you are queer like me, patriarchy is still baked into the queer community and even the “female gaze”). But at the same time, I would be able to dress more for comfort. Some commenters are saying they would wear less, which I would also do depending on the given temperature and my comfort, but I would also wear more in some instances. Women are caught in a paradox where they are pressured to both where revealing dresses and cover up. It’s a paradox on purpose, as it provides us with no “correct” way to act. We are either a prude or promiscuous, just based on how we dress, apparently. So since I’m from a cold area, I would probably wear MORE sometimes, and dress in a way that’s more comfortable. I would stop trying to find this weird balance between trying not to attract attention and being attractive at the same time, which makes absolutely no sense. But patriarchy doesn’t make sense, and it’s not meant to. All in all, some days I would be topless in shorts, some days I would wear frilly pink dresses, and some days I would be bundled in sweaters and comfy pants. Essentially, I would just wear what I want.
We would be buck wild naked. No need to hide anything.
I think you forgot something there will still be religion and government in a world of ''women'' if we look at some Iroquoian's tribe (the closest society that woman had power in North America) they were still dressed differently from men because of bodily fonctions and I'm sure stronger women will have impose a certains esthetic on their peers. I studied history (mostly WWI and WWII) but I still I believed in fonctionnalisme theory that most things happened because the humanity needed to survive on earth. And clothing is the first defence mechanism agains weather and environment so women would still be dressed (even living in a world without a man gazed) and probably have very functional clothing no matter what (male gaze or female gaze) I can see women of power dressing a different way (always happened just look at the monarchy)
Id still cover up and wear a bra because I just hate the feeli g of the ladies moving around too much. That actually make them sore. I like to cover up. Being nearly n4ked around strangers even women isnt a dream of mine plus...SUNBURN
Before yall get too crazy, remember that Karen will still exist in this theoretical world
Nothing, because they would still be on pre history.
