This may be the strongest prehardmode weapon now...
While most people believe the Night's Edge or the Phoenix Blaster to be the strongest prehardmode weapons in terraria, I'm here to tell you, they're completely wrong.
The wand of sparking is the strongest prehardmode weapon... if you ignore the katana and the aqua scepter in this secret world seed.
This video was created using CapCut on Windows, which is also the only video editor which would run well enough on my computer for such a large project.
I would've procrastinated even longer if it weren't for Cheesyman_118 and their comments on my previous video (Shorts).

not gonna lie, I thought this is gonna be another "this weapon is op and why it's bad" type of video, in which I absolutely hate. But nope! it was really informative video, I never thought that the wand got multiple buffs
I'm glad you liked it. I actually only recently found out about these buffs when I noticed the wand was much stronger than I remembered it. I mean, it was doing almost as good as the undertaker that I had!
Wand of sparkling is good in calamity mod though, the on fire debuff good against king slime and the eye
Calamity is actually how I realized the wand was stronger than I thought! I actually thought it was a rework Calamity did, but a good portion of it is in vanilla too.
I wouldn't count these as "pre-hardmode" weapons, since the whole point of the stat changes in the secret seed is making them functionally hardmode weapons in every way. This isn't any different than grabbing a scaled down hardmode weapon in that seed and bringing it to another world. Still a great fun fact though, and nice video. Hopefully the next update adding secret seeds to the world creation menu will make them more well known and convenient to play around with.
That's true, I will admit I felt a bit cheap calling them prehardmode weapons, but I still allowed it though since these weapons are generally prehardmode. Thanks for the comment!

If this vid was on magic weapons (like last prism) you could make it even weaker with spectre hooded armor since its a 40% magic damage reduction on top of everything else

whenever I see "Wand of Sparking" in the title of a video they always forget about an even BETTER version of it called the "Wand of Frosting" and its EXTREMELY easy to craft only needing 99 Ice Torches. Also nice video! Edit: Im a dumbass and didnt hear you legit say the entire thing at 2:20. Smh
How do I get merchant to come to me in this game?
NPCs only move into Suitable Housing during the daytime. The merchants prerequisite is having 50 Silver coins or more in your inventory. Gold coins count as 100 silver coins.

Red's potion does apply Weak but it doesn't apply Withered Weapon. You have a good point there, but I just wanted the setup to be as convoluted as possible...

I want to get into this game, but i have zero clue what the hell im doing or supposed to do 99.9 percent of the time
I only began to pay terraria after years of watching content online. It was such a captivating game that I fantasized over it everyday. If you don't want the fun to be spoiled, it is a pretty complex game. Heck, even I have to search up guides for new content that was added in the recent updates. However, I think the game has gotten better for new players. I think if you were to play terraria with one mod, called boss checklist, you'd have yourself a non invasive guide to terraria. Good luck on your journey if you ever get into it!

its crazy how fast u can get a broken reforge, but not a legendary one
Y'know it's always been odd to me that a broken item is cheaper to reforge. Realistically that would make it harder to fix. Also, I recorded two clips for that section. The other clip showcased a much greater struggle for getting a broken reforge. 🙃

The Tipsy debuff actually increases melee damage at the cost of defense. I also thought it was the other way a couple of times while making this video.

I made the video and I still don't understand this comment. Fyi, it was a menacing starboard but I removed the menacing off camera so it didn't affect the final outcome.

Whoops, it's 1000% from ~1000 DPS to ~10000 DPS, not the other way around, you're right. I should've been simple and said a factor of 10. My bad...
@@ElementEpsilon haha no worries its a common mistake. Some shops even use this as a sales tactic, advertising "100% sale", but its just half off in reality (because half the price + 100% is the original price) xD

Well, I decided to compare the DPS starting from the first click just to see how things end up. If I Iet the last prism boot up then it would've just been a numbers battle, and the Zenith always wins in that case. Practically it makes sense to include the charge up part of the LP but I can also understand your logic. My apologies.
pickaxes are better

I used a glitch I learned about thanks to Portal Mech. All ground enemies fall through the world since the crystal is down there, leaving just the flying enemies. A useful quirk about it.

This is possible in Vanilla Terraria. Mods were only used to set up this experiment. Also the first two debuffs do more than just lowering damage output, but I discarded those other details because it wasn't relevant here.

Drills are a waste
something to note: Due to an issue in the game's code all drills mine slower than they are supposed to. This means that an equivalent pickaxe + almost any mining buff in the game mines faster than a drill.
Yea but many people usually don’t use mining buffs as they prefer not to waist valuable item just for mining speed
Pickaxes are better by far because drills can't get any buffs whatsoever so just mining potions an ancient chisel and the light reforge already makes them better than drills
