I have been looking for a video like this since I first discovered the song, which I love! Thank you from Sweden!
Respect to your reactions. I wish more people reacted and spread these amazingly well done Ukrainian songs. They have such heart and the message is so strong in most of them.
Вісім слів у підтримку каналу! Один, два, три. І ще трішки. With love from Ukraine!
Дякую Вам за роботу! Слава Україні 🇺🇦
Thank you for that work. It is really important. I hope someday there will be peace in Ukraine and no dictatorship in my country.
ТАК БУДЕ!
You can also analyze the songs SKOFKA - HEAR THE ANTHEM (SKOFKA - ЧУТИ ГІМН) or SKOFKA - Bad Neighbors (SKOFKA - Погані сусіди)
Thank you for your work, for the detailed analysis you do. It's very cool and powerful. Especially when you need to explain to foreigners what is really going on. Keep it up! I will be very grateful for your analysis of the New March of the Ukrainian Army! th-cam.com/video/n3FTIFcQlNM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SXdnb2GfBWlQdhwo Ukrainian Song - "Марш нової армії" [English Translation] Slava Ukraini!. Its text is taken from here, it is an old anthem of Ukrainian nationalists en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_of_Ukrainian_Nationalists . And the prayer in the middle of the song, it is the Prayer of a Ukrainian revolutionary, unfortunately, it does not have an English page in the wiki, so I am giving a link to Ukrainian, if necessary, it can be translated. Thanks in advance!uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%B0_%D1%83%D0% BA%D1%80%D0%B0%D1%97%D0%BD%D1%81%D1%8C%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%BE_%D0%BD%D0%B0% D1%86%D1%96%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%96%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0 Моли́тва Українського націоналіста
Ого, дуже круто! Дякую за детальний огляд кліпу.
Mr. Overby! I'm Ukrainian and I do speak English. I really adore videos you're making for your students, but you have soooome liiiitle wrongs in your explanations. Actually from Ukrainian point of view this littlle things are near to insults. If you want, we can talk of this, based on you previous videos or even make a live talk with your students or just one-on-one. Regards, Be safe. Glory to Ukraine.
Mr. Overby! You've got comments disabled under you last video so I'm writing it here. Lots of inaccurate info actually
💙💛
Could've made a better reaction, so much interesting info. well done 👍
Swamp alludes to the fact that modern day Russia can be traced back to the swamps of Muskovy, not Kyiv, like they pretend. The swamps of orcs from Mordor has its equivalent in the mud of Moscovy.
Dude. Calling it "conflict" and "war" interchangeably like that is wrong. Conflict is what the propagandists (read:liars) call it. It's only ever been war. Thank you.
Thank you for your words of support) I advise you to review the track “YARMAK - RAGNAROK”. There are quite a few historical Easter eggs in the words. You will like the lyrics)
Will check it out!
Good video, but please, do not refer to this as the 'Ukrainian conflict.' This is a russian war against Ukraine, or a russian invasion of Ukraine. It is not a mere conflict; it is a full-scale and terrible war. It is the largest war since World War II.
My apologies for that. I do normally refer to it as that.
So you are not going to mention Bandera’s cooperation with nazi’s germany in ww2
So Bandera is an interesting character. Political scientist Andreas Umland characterized Bandera as a "Ukrainian ultranationalist", and also told Deutsche Welle that he was not a "nazi", noting Ukrainian nationalism then was "not a copy of Nazism". I'm not agreeing with what Bandera stood for but he was just one of many Ukrainian fighters and nationalists that wanted to see an independent Ukraine. His was a pure Ukrainian state but free from world powers. Other moderate Ukrainians disagreed with his ultra-nationalist ideals while advocating for a free and independent Ukraine.
Thanks for such deep analysis 😊
Hey, great video! Wanted to point out that at 9:08 you're pointing at Crimea and not the Kuban. Kuban is more to the right, on the opposite side of Azov Sea 😇
Thank you! My geography is lacking sometimes!
Listen Ukrainian anthem
You have great content. Many cultural traditions and our actions contain origins in our history. Greetings from Kharkov.
Джері Хейл Мрія
Джері Хейл благословення земля
LOL "such a young man" is 50 years old
Hey 50 is young when you are the commander of all the Ukrainian military.
@@Mr.Overby well, it’s quite normal in Ukraine😀
@@K78644that's fair. Guess that's my western centric view 😅
Thank you for your support!
Thank you for your support 🙏
Yarmak - 22, pls
In Soledar not coal, but salt was mined. The name of the town in Ukrainian consists of two words "salt" and "gift". After the loss of Soledar, we really had problems with the supply of cheap salt.
Yes! That's right! It was salt. Thank you for the correction.
Thank you for supporting Ukraine. I am a Ukrainian and read and studied the history of the Cossacks a lot, if you remove all the myths and propaganda, then the Cossacks look like pirates of the Caribbean base, they were fugitive nobles, sailors, soldiers, criminals, as well as adventurers and people who were looking for freedom. Pirates, like the Cossacks, did not care at all what faith you were or what nationality you were. Like pirates, the Cossacks lived in the region between the strongest empires, the Cossacks lived off hunting, fishing, trade and war, they sold their skills to those who would give a good price. The pirates did the same. The pirates had their own code of honor and their own rules. Cossacks are pirates of the steppes.
Ukraine is a descendant of the Cossack state Hetmanshina, back in 1669 the Cossacks called themselves Ukrainians, and their state Ukraine (Letter of Peter Doroshenko and his troops to the Turkish sultan) Ukraine is older than Moscow propaganda says;)
Thank you a lot for the reaction=) Couple of other suggestions: YARMAK - Дике Поле (eng. Wild Field) - though it has less to do with history, visuals and lyrics (especially visuals) are fantastic. YARMAK - Хай нам брате пощастить (eng. Let us be lucky) - shows the short videos of our fighters in action at war and who they were as civilians before joining the AFU. Pretty follows the same spirit of what you mentioned in this video about Cossacks- people of different languages, professions, and background joining against a common enemy. Thank you one more time.
💪💪💪🇺🇦
3:40 this is Mikhailo Dianov ukranian marine. he returns in Ukraine by exchange
Yarmak- хай нам брате пощастить
Thank you for the reaction and such a thorough explanations of what's actually shown in the video and sung about - it's heartwarming to see this level of attention to details. As a suggestion if you consider another song with some historical context - Jerry Heil - Kozatskomu Rodu (eng. Cossack kin) - the song compares Modern ukrainians to the late Medieval/Modern Era (XV - XVIII cent.) ukrainian self-organized semi-nomadic people/warriors who were first of our lands to resist to the Moscow Empire (among others) seriously. Thank you one more time.
Thank you for the watch and suggestions! Will check it out! And of course!
🙏💛💙
Ukrainians have been killing Ukrainians in Donbass since 2014. For a long 8 years, Ukrainian women, children, old people died just because they liked the Russian vector of development, and not the Western one! Russia has been trying for 8 years to stop the murders of Ukrainians in the Donbas by Ukrainians, trying to force them to comply with the Minsk agreements. the whole world did not care that Ukraine was killing its own women, children and the elderly. And now, when, after 8 years of persuasion, Russia sent in troops to protect the people of Donbass from destruction, Ukrainians shouted to the whole world: why us? save! By the way, Russia has sent 160,000 soldiers to Ukraine, and 60,000 Ukrainians from Donbass are fighting alongside Russian troops!
I'm assuming you are a Russian bot account. You have a very skewed version of history. After the Euromaidan uprising against the illegal regime of Yanukovich, Russia did not like the fact that Ukraine wanted to align with the EU and the West. So what did they do? They sent in "little green men" to foment unrest in the Donbas and Crimea. Russia isn't rescuing anyone. They have butchered Ukrainian women, men, and children in Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka, Kharkiv, Mariupol and so many other places. Russians did not come to liberate. They came to conquer and obliterate. Ukraine will fight until victory is achieved. Even with 300,000 or more Russian Orcs in Ukraine they are still retreating under Ukrainian attacks. Putin's regime will not survive this war.

Thank you for your support and kind words) You can make a reaction to the track "Козацькому роду - Jerry Heil". You will really like it and the semantic load in the texts is very touching for the soul
Thanks! Will check it out!
Greetings from Ukraine and thanks for the support) If anything, I advise the map of military operations "DeepState map". It is the most accurate of all maps that exist. Even all foreigners use it)
Thanks! I will definitely use that from now on.
