Mikhail Nikolaevich Baryshnikov (Russian: Михаи́л Никола́евич Бары́шников; born January 27, 1948),[1] nicknamed "Misha" (Russian diminutive of the name "Mikhail"), is a Russian dancer, choreographer, and actor, often cited alongside Vaslav Nijinsky and Rudolf Nureyev as one of the greatest ballet dancers in history. After a promising start in the Kirov Ballet in Leningrad, he defected to Canada...

!! THE BEST FOREVER !! THE ONE!!!! ❤
Eccezionale!!!!😊
I never tire of watching this tribute to the magnificent Rudolf Nureyev, whom I met several times when he danced in Australia. A great artist, highly intelligent and very charming. So kind to me and so patient. I cherish the autographs and the memories. You will never be forgotten Rudi and there will never be anyone like you. God bless you and keep you safe for all eternity. Anne and the flowers from Giselle.
Gracias Misha por habernos dado tanto esfuerzo y hermosos espectáculos de verte bailar .

Barishnikov in the Nutcracker.
Mikhail Baryshnikov is really amazing in this film clip for "Bayadere", the first scene. He looks like he has more muscle mass than the normal ballet dancer in this clip. It could be an optical illusion. It's hard to tell. His clothing is baggy, and not the usual skin-tight ballet togs. Never-the-less, you can see his huge muscles bulging under the clothes. His leaps look higher than the other dancers, he seems to stay in the air longer, stay on balance longer, and do more spins of higher quality than the other ballet dancers. Then, if you compare him to himself later, he looks like he has lost a lot of the muscle tissue he had in this clip. I like him better with more muscle on him. I think he performs better. It doesn't look like the international norm for ballet dancers, though, to have that much muscle tissue. So, why is that? I actually recall some of the comments I heard about Russia in general, and ballet in specific in 1981. Americans were making nasty comments about the Russian dancers, and I wonder if it's because they were better trained, and we were intimidated. I understand from my studies and from talking to my Russian sister-in-law that it is normal for Russians to send their children to four years of gymnasium in elementary school. This is what we were complaining about, but I think mostly because we wouldn't do the work the Russians were doing. I think if we really want to compete on the international market, we need to start now, encouraging the children to eat more, and spend a full four years in the gym to build up healthy muscle. I actually prefer the well-muscled Baryshnikov in these earlier film clips. He looks healthier and does a better job performing. I think it was around 1982, I was home alone one Friday night at about eleven, when Channel Nine showed a film clip of him. He did an amazing ballet skit, where he held himself out in a horizontal line, balanced on the edge of a table, holding to the table with his forearms, with the rest of his body suspended in midair. I've never seen anything like it ever after that. He was in superb physical condition.
Misha Barishonikov fantastico!! Rudolf Nurayvev e lui i migliori del mondo!! Precisione tecnica fantasia grazia e movenze nella danza perfette!!❤❤❤❤❤
Simply lovely
@sofiamacaroni maybe not perfect technique but you couldn't take your eyes off him.
Васильев
