The car 1977 is fast 😊
That's a sick reenlistment.
If you ever wanted to see a bunch of 20-something doing nothing and having a good time not doing it, go to the base fire station. Once the trucks are shiny and the station is cleaned, we might spend a couple hours training. When retreat sounds, that’s when the real fun starts. Firefighter at Wurtsmith AFB, MI and Castle AFB, CA, with brief interludes at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, Palmarola/Soto Cano AB, Honduras, and Riyadh AB, Saudi Arabia. Last of the tailboard riders. Proud son of LeMay. Last of the Cold Warriors.
You were right next to us at this concert. My daughter, my husband and i were on your left side a little in front of you close to mark. In a couple of your highlights video you can see my daughter's hand with the x on it lol
Used to work on that aircraft back in the day.
I was there from 78 to 82 with the 97th SPS. Looks like they made an addition to the facility after I left.
I loved living on base. So sad it closed. Blytheville sucks now .
bad ass
“That sounds like 💩” that’s what I said when I heard that old fart running.🤣
So what ur saying...its a turd with candy corn eyes🙁
Hello, my brother, I have a problem with a 2005 Jeep Cherokee. When it goes at 60, emergency mode appears, the gear sticks at 3, it says check engine, and when the engine is turned off, it returns to D. What is the solution and what is the problem?
Brother do you think a 1992 F250 5.8 v8 manual transmission with 170k miles for 3900$ is a good deal? Are they reliable, the truck looks in great condition the fan is kinda loud but sounds good
5.8 is the lowest motor option for a 92 f250. Manual will hold up just fine if it isn't a m50d. The Windsor motor is plenty reliable with a few quirks. But in a 5.8 f250 don't expect to be towing what 7.3s or 460s are towing. It's basically just an f150 with more lugnuts and springs. Pretty much a heavy half in sense. The price is a bit high for the options compared to my area. I'd offer 3k tp start. You're not gonna be able to get it under 3 unless you just offer 1500. Be honest with yourself, It's a 92 with the small gas motor and 170k miles. 92 isn't the most desirable year and that's not the most desirable options
I remember KAIT playing these before signing off in the 90s. Seems like all of them were accompanied by the song "Let the Lower Lights Be Burning".
The alert pad? I ran a paranormal team and was asked to check it out. Very creepy.
Blytheville was my 1st base, 2101 Comm Sqd Jun 81 - Dec 83…Im sorry the base closed; became a man there & learned life lesson that still sustain me.
I worked at the radio station in Walnut Ridge in the 1980s and 1990s and we aired this every morning. I've wondered for years where I might be able to find copies of these recordings. I work at the Cedar Ridge Schools today and would love to air them on our school radio station.
My grandmother worked ar the walnut ridge one for a while!
i have my grandfathers 1988 f250 5.8L super cab long bed manual trans he bought new in 1988. i have done the 130 amp alternator and the e350 power steering saginaw upgrade and moved the ignition module over to the drivers fender like the 92`s did. one thing to do with the starter solenoid is make a ground wire from the mounting plate of the solenoid to the negative battery cable. mine would short out and keep the starter running until you pull the negative battery cable off or burn up the positive battery cable. i put a disconnect switch on the negative cable at the battery. its a life saver i tell ya. the rear anti lock brake unit on the frame is a real pain in the ass. just touching one in the box could / can mess up the solenoids in them. wear gloves. . they get vacuum leaks all the time. make you a smoke machine. its worth it. the evap check valves on top of the fuel tanks and the rubber grommets they use are a pain as well. also there is a diode in one of the 3 wires that go to the idle air control valve on the 1987-1989. just get a mini bladed fuse holder and solder it in place and go to salvage yard and look for early 90`s cars and pull the small mini black fuse looking diode from relay box under the hood. you will thank me for it later. there is a messed up resistor block in the wiring harness between the distributor and the coil and the tach in the guages. get new ones if they are bad and DONT put them or the iac diode in backwards. it will ruin your day. trust me. also like you said from 1986 to 1994 the cars , trucks and vans all use the same MAP SENSOR i have had nothing but problems with the after market ones from the part stores. when they go out i get 66 miles to half a tank so i know its bad. also do the fuel injector up grade to the EV6 injectors. fuel millage goes up a bit. dont use E3 DIAMOND FIRE PLUGS IN THESE TRUCKS!!! you can if you want but they dont work to good in my truck. i just use auto lite #24 plugs. they seem to work best in my truck. also if you block off the egr valve it will eat more gas . ask me how i know ( LOL) it will run rich. oh yeah. on the manual transmission trucks there is a switch on the clutch rod that goes to the clutch master cylinder under the dash. those dont last too long it seems and also the nylon bushing that locks that clutch rod to the clutch pedal gets eaten up alot. carry spairs.. back in the day these trucks were hard to beat but now . im suprised im not bald from pulling all my hair out i tell ya. these trucks can and will drive you totally nuts. good luck guys!!!!
Lived out past the north end of the runway. Loved the drills where the B52s would all take off right after each other. Gosnell was a great little town back then.
MITOs were the best show; I loved watching them too. & you’re right, my 1st duplex was in Gosnell. Enjoyed my time there 1981-83.
I actually worked a lot of hours on this aircraft.
As a lot of VHF tape is converted to digital, You can see a lot more of these final flight and base closure videos. Though it’s a little disheartening, I think they need to be seen. The simple truth is you cannot downsize the military without downsizing the United States as a whole. that’s what happened in the early 1990s with all the military downsizing. I think it needs to be seen as a lesson so that we can never lose that amount of bases and personnel ever again. as an Air Force veteran, I saw the after effects I’m sure other branches experienced the same.
Did any of the pilots get cancer?
It's a possibility
Great video.. Unfortunately as usual there is not one mention of the Maintenance troops. Why do you think that BUFF landed at Barksdale a code 1 jet? Because of both the Crew Chief’s and support troops. I was a SAC Crew Chief (Tankers) in the 70s and 80s
Understand, longtime A&P here.
R.I.P to both Clint McHugh and Thomas "Cotton" Priddy.
It was Eaker AFB you twit
Ahhh...The good ole SAC days. The "real" Air Force. AMMO Troop. Carswell AFB WSA 1984 -1988, SRAM, ALCM, B28, B61. The most unique and demanding tour of my twenty-one year career. Blessed and Proud to have been a "SAC Trained Killer!"
Thank you for serving in the "Big Stick of the Free World"
I love how the eyes are red I wonder if there is a button in the mask to make it do that
What's the amount of Fabrication they did on the nose of it
Does the 89 egr throw a check engine light or no?
Shouldn't.
I was stationed at Dyess from 82 thru 90, 96th SPS. We had similar facilities which are no longer there. I recognize the ECP, Fire Team building, and Alert Crew Billits. Pretty cool, I remember those days well.
I've always been curious everybody says how many problems these trucks have but yet you see thousands and thousands of them on the road every single day summer still bone-stock factory what you hundred thousand or more miles so if they have this many problems why are people buying them
How do you not love that? 👍👍👍
This and air starter tow truck always stick with me!!!!
I have a 1993 f150 XL with a E4OD trans that pulls in and out of first gear I have checked the shit solenoid it’s good but what else could cause this to happen transmissions are not my strong suit to work on someone that has some transmission knowledge let me know what causes this problem besides the transmission shift solenoid and how I can fix it
I have an idea but let me look into it. Been a short minute since I last dealt with these trucks. I'll get back to ya
Check the belt
Sad to see one of the most secure places in the world is now in shambles. SAC will live on in the hearts of those who served under it

Imagine the chills yoi would get seeing and hearing this monster come down the road!! ❤😍😳
I remember that OCTOBER, and the alert that scared the hell out of the whole damn planet, and when the first B52 came in long time ago, stressful
Oh wow, last there in OCT 1995, it's really gone down, I thought FedEx was all over that area?
I live near bville, they're supposedly getting a grant to fix the place up. Fedex is in Memphis, we don't have anything around here 😅 this base has been pretty messed up for awhile now
last year I bought a 97 f250 HD 5.8 with 205k on it for $3,900. It had a little rust and the brake lines were rotted through but it had nothing done to it so everything was factory. I put new brake lines and brake hardware on it and replaced a few radiator hoses and it was a runnin truck. I drive it about 100 miles one way twice a week to my college and back so I've of course had a few small issues come up but it has never left me stranded. After doing some research I'd say the last three years of this body style were probably the best mechanically speaking even though they are practically the same truck as the 87-94 trucks. In 1994, Ford modified the 351 and maybe the 302 by adding roller lifters to it so it could last a little longer than just a flat tappet style would... that's if you do your oil changes every 4,500 to 5,000 miles. I've done some slight modifications to my truck since I got it but nothing mechanically and everything that has needed to be replaced, I've just used motorcraft or factory variant parts. The truck right now has 216,800 miles on it, it runs great, and gets roughly around 12-16 mpg. Also, DONT USE 5w-20 or 5w-30 oil in these trucks. I use 10w-30 Castrol GTX high mileage and it maintains a high oil pressure easily hot or cold.
Sounds like you got a Monday morning special...lol...
Damn... 1980-1981 for me.. worked in Combat Crew Comm.. we would go out to the facility once a week for crew change and swapping out the aircrews communications kits and FLIP bags. Two of us would go out, one of us would do the bombers and the other the tankers.. We made sure that every piece of classified came back to us..
Just da sound of da truck is damn scary when o watched da movie dat sound use to make ‘em scary a lil 🤣
The most normal truck design in Ohio
I too have a Mark 3 F-150 does yours have the beer cooler in the front console
Yep
Why would you delete the hoses going to your heater core? 😆 Don't need any of that fancy cab heat or defrost? You already took away a perfectly good A/C system, so no cool temps in the summer... so who needs heat as well? By the time you're done, it'll be a covered wagon. Oregon Trail style!
Don't have the truck anymore. Took the lines out (now this was my mind at the time) to put less strain on the motor and keep more of the engine cool. Took the AC out because 1 it leaked and 2 for mpg increase/less stress on the motor and 3 because it had smoker windows. After all the "mods" and deleting I did I did a 100+ mile trip on 22mpg in this truck, that's back roads and interstate.
@@GCF-Media cool deal 😎 👌 what's your next project vehicle?
Sadly this B-52H was flown to Davis Monthan AFB and it was eventually scrapped. I feel really bad for this bomber's crew chief because I'm sure he felt like they ripped his heart out when they scrapped this B-52H. All thats left of this plane is one nose art panel for the Memphis Belle III and its on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
That was a B-52G not a H model get your aircraft identification right, I worked on both!!!
It's alot of Miltary History in the state of Arkansas especially during the cold war Bombers and Tankers also ICBMs at Little Rock Air Force Base and Bombers and Tankers at Blytheville Airforce Base (Eaker AFB).
My issue is my temp gauge never makes it to center it stays closer to cold well last night while driving home my battery gauge dropped my lights went dim and my temp gauge dropped all the way to the c mark. Would that be my temp sensor or alternator 🤣. What would cause both gauges to drop like that?
Temp should be between c and the center
@@GCF-Media that's usually where it stays. Would my battery gauge dropping have anything to do with my temp gauge dropping? It happened at the same time. After about 40 minutes of driving my battery gauge drops like the alt isn't charging the battery. I'm going to have them both tested but what would that have to do with my temp gauge?
@@jessigames8593 all your gauges would drop at the same time maybe due to a power draw like your heater
@@jessigames8593 I assume you have figured this out after a year but I had the same problem and it was the regulator on my alternator going out and it destroyed all the senders.😂😂
@@jaredjust3829 thank you. I have changed my alternator twice because of this issue. First one must have been bad from the store. This 2nd one is acting weird also but so far it's working. I think I need a new connector for stator that damn clip broke and I can just pull it off now. It charges the battery but while I'm driving it starts stuttering and the gauge drops a little then stutters again and starts charging...so idk what the deal is. I actually just started driving it again because it needed ball joints and I was procrastinating doing that job 🤣. Always something with these old things lol.
