I was stationed at Dyess from 82 thru 90, 96th SPS. We had similar facilities which are no longer there.
I recognize the ECP, Fire Team building, and Alert Crew Billits. Pretty cool, I remember those days well.

Damn... 1980-1981 for me.. worked in Combat Crew Comm.. we would go out to the facility once a week for crew change and swapping out the aircrews communications kits and FLIP bags. Two of us would go out, one of us would do the bombers and the other the tankers.. We made sure that every piece of classified came back to us..

I was there from 78 to 82 with the 97th SPS. Looks like they made an addition to the facility after I left.

Sad to see one of the most secure places in the world is now in shambles. SAC will live on in the hearts of those who served under it

The alert pad? I ran a paranormal team and was asked to check it out. Very creepy.

I remember that OCTOBER, and the alert that scared the hell out of the whole damn planet, and when the first B52 came in long time ago, stressful

Oh wow, last there in OCT 1995, it's really gone down, I thought FedEx was all over that area?

I live near bville, they're supposedly getting a grant to fix the place up. Fedex is in Memphis, we don't have anything around here 😅 this base has been pretty messed up for awhile now
