I have so many fond memories of listening to this before going to bed as a kid. I missed it dearly recently and hearing this again is really very endearing. Thank you for uploading this. RIP Peter Sallis.
I totally forgot about this, I used to listen to this all the time!! Thank you for sharing
This is a great way to fall asleep to love Wallace and Gromit
3:52 A what egg?
Rest in peace Peter sallis your movie will not be forgotten
1:02 As I remarked to Gromit... E
41:47 😏 Is that why you didn't recognize him when he wore the same glove on his head in 2025?
8:09 Interesting they have Wallace say "Lock the doors" here. Up until this point in the tape, the direct quotes from the film being recited have been pretty much one-to-one, so I have to wonder if when the script was written for this audiobook that whoever wrote the script misheard the film's original line "allotment doors" (referring to the doors forming the floor of the allotment in Wallace's backyard) as "lock the doors" (despite there being only one door to the rocket which is locked by-hand). Perhaps ironically I'M the one who has it backwards? I've never read the script for the original film after all.
I use to own this audio cassette as a child and use to listen to it during bedtime, the music at 40:16 use to scare me every time as I knew I had to turn the cassette over for part 2
You shall never be forgotten, Mr. Sallis. You will always be remembered 💖 as Wallace😊.
I love how Peter Sallis is over explaining everything that happens in the animation, including visual gags.
To bad they didn't do an audiobook of The Curse Of The Were-rabbit.
Or A Matter of Loaf and Death!
Ah, if only they made an audio cassette for A Matter of Loaf and Death. That would've been awesome.
Yes and Vengeance Most Fowl.
@robertbuckley2429Curse of the Were Rabbit Too
Wallace was about to go on a singles vacation 😂
42:01 Sallis said it even more dramatic then he did in the original film
I can't believe the BBC audio books🇬🇧📻🎙🎧
Whoever got Peter Sallis to narrate the Wallace And Gromit adventures as Wallace himself recounting the adventures AND adding the music from the featurettes in the style of A Grand Day Out did a cracking job. Well done, my fine lad. And by my fine lad I mean Chris Allen, who adapted the stories for cassette.

I Remember This
Wow! Never knew this existed! It's crazy to think how many lines Peter recorded as Wallace, even for merchandise!
Nicely done. 😊
0:16: A Grand Day Out 21:01: The Wrong Trousers 49:32: A Close Shave
1:14:16 Instantly The Voice Of Wallace Echoed Though The Chamber. X
43:15
That was a good story.
PETER SALLIS: IM AFRIAD YOU'LL HAVE TO TURN OVER. NO I DONT MEAN TURN OVER IN BED I MEAN TURN OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CASSETTE. I LOVED IT ❤❤ WHEN PETER SILLIS SIAD THAT IT JUST BLEW ME AWAY.
Imagine if they did a audiobook of curse of the wererabbit I would like to know Wallace was thinking while he was tiring into the wererabbit
I do not care if the audio is a little poor at times... This, to me, is a gold mine that I never knew existed
This is so great, please do NOT delete this.
3:56.
0:01 This Wallace And Gromit Theme Song Is So Funky. I've Loved Disco Dancing Fever. Thanks A Lot The Smiler Buddy Amigo Dude Mate. X❤😂😅😂😅🎉
If anyone hasn't noticed, they omitted the moment in The Wrong Trousers where Gromit ended up going through the breakfast process and got a faceful of jam!
That’s because Wallace wasn’t around to see that happen, since he was asleep… either that, or Gromit wanted his master to leave out that part from embarrassment.
@robbiewalker2831 Well, it was an accidental side effect of Feathers McGraw slamming the bedroom door shut after he marched the sleeping Wallace out...
@@G4m30v I realize that Wallace did bring up great detail of what Gromit had to deal with in A Close Shave, so it’s definitely omitted by Gromit’s request.
28:18 Also, they omitted the part where Feathers McGraw played three songs loudly on the radio in which all three songs were basically played to “make fun of Gromit” as he is a dog. Also they omitted the part where Gromit was weeping from the resulting insult in his kennel outside.
I’m in love with this 😊 English is my second language, and it sounds lovely from native speakers
it's not shown in the short films but Wallace has a substantial lexicon. You can only see this in the wrong trousers when he's looking at his bill's and calculating them saying "there's no use prevaricating about the bush" correct me if I'm wrong.
R.I.P and rest, Peter Sallis. This has been a welcome addition to my collection of audio books. This helps me get to sleep after a stressful day.
Remember listening to this as a child. Thank you for sharing, I’ve tried Audible, Spotify, Apple book store and am can’t find this anywhere. Thank you.
This is really amazing!😁 R.I.P Peter Sallis....😔
I love it
Wonderful
There's something that's just wrong with Wallace saying the word "Volleyball".
7:32 for Wallace being thrown to the floor with his headphones.
I loved his voice so much and how meticulously he explained things. Also his accent was amazing. I love his particular accent.
I got absolutely high and im sitting in my car listening to this This rules
