I have on of these, its cheap as chips which is good, mine did not come with a sheath or file. The handle was shaper than the blade, which looked like it had been sharpened by a bloke in Indonesia, where they are made, banging it between two rocks. The steel is 1045 and the heat treatment seems rubbish. BUT with a bit of time and patience you can smooth out the handle, reprofile the blade and get a good edge on it, I do like the shape, in the end I got some 4mm A2 steel, traced the shape on that, made it full tang, put on a G10 handle, gave it a heat treatment, cryogenic overnight then triple temper and the result is stunning, made a leather sheath and the result is really good!

@@theurbansurvivalist1141 That I thought that it was a PR stunt, unlit the news of the guy being killed came out. There are too many questions, his concern over his shoes and sticking his head and shoulder above the SS body shield to wave at the cameras. Still not convinced that it was legit

Practiced with every single bit of kit. Got decent knowledge of survival in urban, arctic and out in the woods with minimal or no equipment.
@@twsbibanghorn7343 good stuff 👌💪
Very interesting!
Nice one Dave. They do go hand in hand but skills has to take lead. If the equipment isn't availsble then you have to have a good range of skills to keep you in good order.
@@kevinharry7418 definitely mate
My thoughts on the subject. 🤔 Nutter that thought it would be a good idea to get rid of Trump. (lets face it, the is plenty of nutters in the world) Setup job, no chance. Clip someone's ear at 150 yards, rubbish not possible. Assassination attempt by the opposition, quite possible. Its American politics, anything is possible. My biggest question is what was the secret service doing? They are there well in advance checking the area. You telling me they didn't spot a bloke on the roof that close? So many question that we will never have the answers to. 🙄
💯 mate in reality you wouldn't be able to fart within 150 yards without them knowing 😆 all seems very strange but like you say so many questions we will never have the answers too 👍
bread and circus
For the life of me I can't understand this tribal group mindset on so many things these days especially politicians and politics. Seems that so many in the US are all caught up in it all. It's so sad and sort of tragic as well. I don't even bother looking at our local news as it's inevitably mostly about the bs US political circus these days, not that it has really stopped since the last election.
My initial thought is deep state, but then if it had been he wouldn't be here now, so I'm thinking rogue lefty, staged I think he wouldn't have got his ear shot, so my best guess rogue, who failed his mission, but this world is so crazy im probably wrong entirely.
Cheers buddy 💪
Skills and equipment go hand in hand together and they both need knowledge.... Knowledge is king.

Fantastic video.. definitely food for thought here ❤ Lisa Mackay
@@lisarice7971 thanks 🙏
😅😅 Oh My i Thought You Said Dick. 😅
I would go for good quality lightweight equipment over skills. Skills requires much more Kcal burn to achieve a similar result for being warm, fed and rested. A Dyneema backpack could be 1 Kg Lighter than a military Bergen, A 800-900 FP down sleeping bag could be 1 Kg lighter than a synthetic sleeping bag. 2 Kg weight saving could be 3 days extra Freeze dried food carry. Foraging/hunting for 10,000 Kcal will probably take more Kcal expended. One skill of course that shouldn't be neglected is Navigation using a map and compass.
So what if your equipment was lost or taken 🤔

Goods skills are always your base, equipment helps you to last longer in situations. One is no good without the other.
Skills, as you can always find equipment or an equilivent. Equipment without the skills to use it, is just stuff. I think first aid skills should be pretty high on both lists, no point in having that big shiny trauma kit if you cant use it.
Equipment is great but... without the knowledge on how to use it! You're screwed 🤷🏻♀ Great vid as always mate!

At 3:35, I may be tempted to drink that in a pinch after pre-filtering, filtering, sterilising, and then boiling it. I've seen videos from thruhikers @reneeandtim on the CDT in the US where they've drunk from much worse water sources, and they've been fine.
