can you show how you connect the rrc3 with pc? i used the comm pins for connect rrc3 to pc with usb-ttl. I can't see the rrc3 connection on mDACS. So, i can't programm it.
Is it recommended to just use a flux infused solder or could you use a tube of flux to help handle the heat and have better flow when soldering the more sensitive pads, like the RF module and the radio?
I remember loading my own single shot round film discs into a Camroc. For 10 year olds in 1970 this was super high tech!!
Just my opinion here... The camera rocks, the mount is janky and simply doest hold up to midpower thrust. You can permenently mount it with stronger tape but still pretty dubious. Pros with mid power is your rocket doesn’t spin with it installed. Flying it on Estes Star Orbiter. 😊
What infill pattern did you use?
Great work! Looking to build something like this for our new club. I’d like to see a follow up video of this in use with things you’d change, things you love, etc.
Hey, that’s my nose cone! It came out fantastic, I couldn’t be happier….. that’s why I ordered 3 more from you LOL
lol I have the same computer case but with red leds but now when I see blue leds it looks better
Not bad. You will learn tho, that the devil is in the details. Measurements matter, detail matters, especially if you want a good looking rocket. Yes, I definitely want to see you build this out. I hope it turns out great and that you fly it often. I want to get my lvl 1 and 2 certification this year and am about to start the builds for both. Yes. It is my plan to have a bigger rocket for each lvl.
Mr. Beast???
Did you happen to ask for the rpsma connector? From eggtimer?
Yes, the RPSMA was purchased from EggTimer directly. It's a listed option on their site.
Because of the recent Lego dnd set, Ive thought about a lego inspired 3d printed d20. Dont know if it’s possible, but honestly think it would be cool
Great video! I agree about the cellulose fiber. I use it regardless of my other protection being used. Cheap and lightweight insurance!!! I had never seen the deployment bag before. Thanks for showing that one. I’ve been testing an electronic chute release unit called the ACE that currently fits in BT-60 rockets, but hopefully will offer different sizes as well. It releases the chute mechanically as opposed to a combustion charge saving it from potential burns. Great tutorial and thanks for producing this video!
how do you have such passion for cars and still say 'tires' when talking about wheels?
What camera is this? Do you have a link?

This is my first time trying to print an Open RC Car, so with the files you listed the 2023 ones seem just cosmetic correct to the car shown in the video. The Other Files listed (2017) are the ones needed to operate the actual car correct? (Without electronics motor etc..) Which parts would I print out? Should I print all of the Original Noree Parts then go to the IPL 2023 Parts list and go from there? Any information would be helpful!
If you print all the parts I have listed in the 2023 Printables listing you will end with a functional car. I separated teh listing based on where the parts came from to pay proper respects to their creators. Aka my parts are listed as IPL and parts that are still original Noree are labeled as such. Hopefully that helps!
@@InvertedPursuitsLab Hey thanks for the information that makes alot more sense. In terms of building it can it be similar to other guides of building the Open RC 2017 or 18 version? Would you ever consider doing a step by step build guide with what material (exluding printed parts) are needed to build it? I just don't know what (or how many) nuts bolts etc would be needed to complete it. Thank You!
It will be the same process as the existing build guides.
Is there a recommended position on the rocket where you mount the camera? Above or below the center of gravity?
Above CG
Do you sell .stl files for this build?
I do not, as I phase out designs though I do upload them to Printables. This one at the moment is still in production but is looking to get replaced within the year. www.printables.com/@BoysonIPL
most RC will just spin around, show me 1 of those putting down F1 SPEEDS!
great video :) i am lvl 2 as well. For my L3, its gonna be stupid simple, a basic cardboard airframe with lots of drag. No need for it to go super high. If it hits a mile, im happy. Im willing to bet we could get a 3 inch cardboard airframe, lvl 3 rocket, to hit 20,000 feet no issue. actually, let me think about this... Maybe the cardboard wont work for an L3. the inside paper that holds the motor mount, might tear, even with good epoxy. Unless i put some wood screws into it from the side.... But then that might weaken it by introducing a hole and then could zipper the rocket... oh man. now im up for the challenge to do a L3 with a cardboard tube.
I like this shorter informational videos bro, def consider making more like these about other rocketry concepts!!
Will do!
I recently had a late ejection and the rocket was in "nose over" configuration. The chute deployed "forward" and opened, but trailing body tube drove right into it causing it to collapse and let to the demise of my rocket. I prefer "At Apogee", as it helps separate the parts and no on-coming wind to drive the parts back towards one another. Great video and it gets the mind juices flowing!
I also prefer Apogee, interesting to hear a case where that caused a chute collapse. I must have gotten lucky mine didn't.
I like how the closed captioning calls it a disaster cam.
Surprised you would recommend a scratch build fiberglass rocket for lvl 1 cert. I could see maybe for your level 2, but I'd point people to a 3 or 4" kit rocket. 🚀🌳
Can you do ground testing with the MDACS software?
That should be possbile. You have the ability to arm and disarm channels in the software so that could be used to perform ground testing. As with all things please do so with caution.
Duct tape will hold that puppy. 🤠🏴👍🇺🇸
Great content. I was having a very difficult time with the beeper programming. Turns out a friend had the dongle that I could use. Thanks for such an informative and helpful video. You made my NASA Student launch payload deployer work.
Why did you go with two LCD receivers? Two different rockets on two different channels?
Way to big
that’s sick
being that ii race rc cars this is cool but the only real issue i see with this is cooling the electronics
Nice!
I just printed this rocket and I noticed it will fit a 38mm motor. Oh man this is gonna be fun
Great job building! Definitely helps to have an extra pair of hands to speed up the build process too
Yes it does!
Just now saw this video...why not take an Estes or other camera's 'guts' and put it in a tube that just 'plugs into' a standard rocket tube (BT-60, etc) with access to the SD card when you take this small tube out....but for now why not print your existing covers in orange and not grey.
Interesting concept, I print in gray solely because it is the easiest color to paint over to match whatever aesthetic the flyer may desire.
Understand about the gray color, but no one will paint over it. We loose cameras all the time because they're painted black....how ridiculous. Again, why not make a complete camera kit that fits into a tube that doesn't stick out and produce drag...and who needs WiFi or touch screens....just an SD card is enough. The market is there for it.
Thank you for all the detailed work. I plan on using this video to help me assy my first egg timer q. I will let you how it goes.
I'm still at the model rocket sizing. But have looked into high power and these look like an awesome alternative for ebays.
Hi nice job can you make a redesing and more acurate rear wing?
I was wondering if the small lip made on the side that is direct to the build plate affecting the roll at all. I saw some people print them on removable platforms that may make a more accurate dice but I'm not sure.
Is there a particular reason you go with the tracker in the nosecone vs the e-bay?
Typically my rockets are small and I've had bad layout in E-bays that place the tracker antenna to close to the launch rail which results in no signal track as the rocket leaves the pad. So the nose cone reduces that risk. Praetor ought to be big enough I can place it in teh E-Bay. but we'll see what I end up doing.
Need to to do a center of weight test in water
hello !! were did you bought your eggtimer?
Why did you use alum tape under the layup? And I would recommend cutting the glass at a bias instead of at 90 degrees.
Honestly that was a learning experience and on the next version of this I did there was no Al tape. Adjusting the cuts to meet the proper angles is also something I've started doing on layups since. All great suggestions and things I learned while doing this project
The only thing bothering me is the lack of grip. Can you make rims that can fit the common RC Foam compound for maximum grip? :)
Just cut a bicycle innertube into round bands and contact cement it in place. It's cheap and so far I have a month on them. It will give you lots of grip and you can replace it when it wears down. You can make 8 sets out of one Walmart bicycle tube. Get the thickest one that is tight-fitting over the tires. It's basically a rubber sleeve.
Switch access would have been great.
It's been noted and is being resolved
@@InvertedPursuitsLab Will buy with the switch access!!!
The current models now ship with a new switch access slot in the top cover!
@@InvertedPursuitsLab Ordered!!!!
@@InvertedPursuitsLab I was just thinking of this also. If you are not going to recharge the battery, do you get it all assembled and then all you have to do is turn it on and are ready to fly? Is there a new set of photos or a new video for the current version?
I printed the 4" for my Mega Red Max and it was a hit at the field. I added some allthread to the top of the sled for adjustable nose weight. The sled makes a great platform for this, so I didn't have to permenently add weight to the NC. What a great design you've come up with . Thank you so much. It goes in everything I fly now.
You should make threaded adapters so a small bay will fit in all the cones (with the correctly sized threaded adapter).
That's a concept that's been brought up before..... The one area I typically get stuck on is do I start making an adapter for all 3in to larger sizes or smaller?
Might as well do the 38mm 😊
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
