I join the crew for a St. Patrick's Day ride on a favorite hilly loop. Almost everyone had swapped off their studded tires -- they were missed at times! Another super fun day in the woods.

Early morning ride on the Tomahawk C Loop. We left the main parking lot on Springvale Rd. South bound MCCCT leg to the true "C Loop". Counter clockwise down to the edge of the West Branch Sturgeon River and back. Such a fun ride. A lot of elevation change and very flowing.

It's Spring and the trails are clear! .... April Fools! Despite the snow's slow retreat, the crew assembled for an awesome ride on our buddy's back 40. Mixed conditions, to say the least. More fun than struggle, but plenty of doggy paddling and rear fender grabbing. We opened the ride with a high quality OTB by Tom. #thankfulforstuds

The crew assembled for another frozen fun ride. We were so fortunate to have access to private trails and property to roam on. It's truly amazing what studs and an extra layer or two can set you up to ride! We also shuttled along a few seasonal roads to join a segment of the North Missaukee ORV Trail.
Snow Way We're Not Riding! || 1st Group Ride 2023

The crew assembles for the first group ride of the new year. 9 riders, 8 bikes with studs and Chad the champ making it happen on bare rubber! So lucky to roll right out of the driveway to backyard trails galore. Ridgelines were premiere conditions, valleys were a slog, and unexpected drifts ate each one of us at some point. Much more of this to come, it's going to be a great year!

My buddy Dan and I follow our front fenders over the valley and through the woods. We are so fortunate to have the elevation change we do in Northern Michigan. The dropped leaves and lack of underbrush allowed us to carve almost anywhere we wanted to point the bikes. A few more skills and we would have made this look easy! I'm on my beloved KTM XCF-W 500 and Daniel is rocking his Kawasaki KX250F.

Thank you so much!
Awesome video looks fun I wanna jump on my yz450 now
That’s exactly how I hope people will feel watching!
The trail looks awesome where at in Michigan?
It’s so fun! This is a private trail built years ago. We are up in Northern Lower Michigan.
Awesome ridding!!
Thank you, man!
Awesome video man, maybe we’ll cross paths on the MI trails one day.
Thank you so much! I hope we do! 🤙🏼
What trail is this? Looks like a blast!
This is a private trail I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to ride 🤞🏼 We are about 45 minutes south of the Mackinac Bridge.
Looks so funnnn 🙌🏼🙌🏼
It’s just the best!
Looks good !!! I just got back from Georgia on superbikes was hoping to ride that trail this weekend. Hopefully snow melts soon .
Welcome back! My fingers are crossed for truly snow free too.
Noice!! Wish we had hills like this in northern IN
We are very fortunate! And if we keep driving north there’s hills and rocks!
Great vid bro! You guys were rippin!!!
Thanks, Joseph! It was a great day on the bike.
Great video! Trail is right by our place. I haven't rode it yet but looks like the perfect ride to get to know my new 2009 300 XC-w!
Thanks, Robert! It's such a fun trail. Surprising amount of sand in sections. Congrats on the 300!
Awesome!!! It’s always the best to go trail riding!
It's my absolute favorite thing to do. 🙌🏻 Thank you for checking it out and saying hi!
Looks like the secret trails across from my house .

I absolutely agree!
Do you mind me asking what settings you use on your GoPro and how you have it mounted?
Of course! I use a chinmounts.com chin mount and hang the camera upside down from it. I use a foam wind sleeve for noise (big help!) The easiest way to share the settings I’m currently on is to share this video! th-cam.com/video/hWBFD-jkgIM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gNAxn2wxDP5vNan_
I’m saving up for a dirt bike right know probably gonna get one in June just because this looks so fun
Heck yes! It is truly money well spent 🙌🏻 Stoked for you to get out there!
These videos are making me feel homesick. I just picked up a new 450XCW-F and I'd love to take it down some Michigan single track.
What a sweet bike! Where are you riding these days?
@connorbuntin4894 I moved to Dallas a couple years ago. There are some trails here, but nothing as expansive as Michigan. I'll be riding in the Ozarks this summer and little Sahara dunes soon.
@@billhorrigan4388 Very cool! Sounds like some fun rocky stuff.

It plays well in the snow too!
Black Lake? Are you running studs? Love your content dude, wish I could rip like you but hard to get out there.
Hey, thanks! Good guess, but we were near the Petoskey/Wolverine area. Studs indeed! GripStuds, Trelleborg, and Kold Kutters across the 4 bikes.
Something to watch before supercross lol, winter riding's so much fun!

What bike is that? Stock exhaust I'm assuming?
2022 KTM XCF-W 500. Stock exhaust, indeed.
Please please please give us more content. Your videos are so satisfying to watch. Also please make a video on your gopro settings and how you have your camera mounted.
Hey, thank you! That means a lot, man. I will take your comment to heart and keep more coming. Settings and mounting request noted!
How do you have your suspension/tires set up? I just did this trail for the first time yesterday and I felt like if I try to go anywhere near as fast as you I would end up flying off my bike into the trees. I think my settings are a little bit too stiff right now.
Hey! I am on stock WP Xplor suspension sprung for my weight. Just followed the manual recommendations for a neutral compression and rebound clicker setting. As for my tires, I run DOT knobbies (my bike has a plate on it for some road use to link trails together) Dunlop D606 rear, Pirelli MT21 front. Hope this helps! Stoked to hear your were out on the B loop
@@connorbuntin4894Thanks! I've never messed with my suspension much as all the bikes I've owned have already been set up fine for my riding, but I'm working on getting better/faster so I'm trying to tune it more.
@@Excomunicater I have also had the privilege of riding bikes setup fairly well. I am certainly more inclined to adjust my technique over my bike tune, but I think that leaves a lot on the table for comfort and aid in progressing. So I’m trying to tinker a little more!
Good riding! If your in the UP ever HMU! I got a 500 for dual sporting and a YZ250x for that Marquette gnarrrr
Thanks, Nick! It's been almost a year since I ripped around the UP. Too long! I will keep your offer in my pocket. I often day dream about the gnar I witnessed in MQT.
I had my first collision on Cedar Creek going downhill blind turn, cou ter clockwise. It seems more people go clockwise, what do you think?

@@connorbuntin4894actually you do more wheelies and jumps, looks more fun, you guys have equal speed tho! Very inspiring to a guy in his 40s on his first dirt bike, you set the bar high!

I hope you do! I feel very fortunate to live so close to what we have here. Where is home for you and your blue bike?
Kentucky is home so well within driving distance.
Heck yes. I'm confident you'll love it when you do. Tomahawk network in Petoskey area is fantastic, but the terrain just keeps getting more interesting the further north you go. Upper Peninsula has a lot in store.@@Travis_125

Love when people make no effort to clear the trail that tree stabbing your foot was karma.

@@Mostviews111 Despite the ill willed nature of your comments, your passion for trail stewardship is commendable. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Let’s see, for each machine we pay for an orv license tag, orv trail tag, and a rec pass to park the tow vehicle at the trail head all to the MI DNR for trail maintenance. But yeah, let’s expect every rider, on every ride, at every obstacle to break out their chainsaw to clear the trail for a few hours. As mommy said, if you’ve got time to criticize you’ve got time to help. So grab your tools and head up here so we can keep riding.
@@joeg3437 wait a minute, you just said its the DNR responsibility which it's not its private clubs that do the maintenance on most single track trails. So which is it since you just contradicted yourself? Also Iam a part of a club and volunteer plus pay for all the trail stickers.

We Love, and Enjoy these Trails on Or Quads! These Are The Most Tight, and Technical Trails that We Ever Face, But We Love Them All the Same. I have Even Ended Up on The Motorcycle Trail A Few Times, by Accident, Usually going until I can not go no Further, and Turning Around, and then Seeing the Motorcycle Only Sign on Our Way Out. This Was Rode in A Great Time of the Year, (FALL) with the Leaves Covering the Path, makes it look Pretty, but also, not always knowing what's underneath. We Usually go up there During the First Week of Bow Season for Deer, October 1st. and ride in the Morning, as We Do not have as much morning activity of Deer, as we do in the later afternoon. I Forgot to Mention, the Elevation Change is the most we ever see as well. We have been Riding this Trail Since 2019, and enjoy it every Year. Unfortunately, we will not be riding it this year, but look forward to Riding it again in 2024!
