Some of the engines on show at the West Grinstead Church (Sussex) annual fete The stationary engines were organised by John and Maureen. Mostly Sussex Engine club members (SEAMS) and their engines, we had sunshine but a bitterly cold wind but this did not deter exhibitors.

Our annual spring gas up at Tates garden centre, Hassocks. Not the best of weather but a good turnout of members and a great variety of engines most running. Look forward to the next one in autumn.

Along with the pump at Coultershw near Petworth, these are rare survivors of this type of water pump. This one was installed in the 1840's to pump water from the river Rother to the house and gardens at Woolbeding, West Sussex UK, nowadays a National Trust property. The SEAMS annual New Year 'Crank Up' normally held at Faygate near Horsham, West Sussex. A reasonable turnout considering the seriously wet weather in the days beforehand. Its been a difficult few years with not so many shows to attend so my back garden became the venue for a few of my engines running during the hot weather in 2022. These include an Ernst Plank flame licker, Keighley Morton, Gardner 1V, McDonald HVID, Hartop AV etc

The 2019 display of vintage engines and machinery organised by The Museum De Mechanique Naturelle in Giverny France. Better known for its association with Monet, Giverny hosts this annual exhibition attracting enthusiasts with their engines from across Europe. This is the 14th time this show has been held.

Taken at the July 2017 Festival Vieilles Mechaniques held every two years at Montclera nr Cazals in France. This was the 27th show and is run entirely by volunteers and sponsored by local businesses. It is very much a working show of agricultural machinery, classic cars, motorbikes and in fact almost anything vintage and mechanical.

SEAMS members running up the large Tangye gas engine at Cobbs Mill, West Sussex (UK) over the National Mills weekend in May 2017. The engine is 13" bore and about 40hp. The associated producer gas plant is by National but the engine now runs on propane. It was was restored over a period of two years by a dedicated group of Sussex Engine and Associated Machinery Society (SEAMS) members.
