Understanding Better Lighting - Blender Tutorial

Hope you guys enjoy this one. It took quite awhile to make because I thought instead of making everyone follow a tutorial quite strictly, I'd break it down until everyone has developed an understanding of their own to use and interpret it in anyway they want. Let me know what you think. Artworks provided by: huleeb & thisisasmu louixlin.com louixlin C...

'Sunlamp' refers to the sun type of lights that can be added, right?
Also note that volumetrics may enhance the lights and improve the looks of SOME of your scenes, it wont work on all, of your scenes. In addition to increasing render times, it’ll also make a noisier render
Amazing water shader!
The video is great, nearly cinematic, however your audio needs some work. Your voice is low and it tends to bottom out and sound muffled. Look at techniques for your editing program to sweeten your voice and to make it stand out so it is clearer sounding
As a beginner, this was very insightful. Thank you for all your efforts
Excellent course! I almost finished it. I've learned a lot along the way. Do you have another course about Blender?
You have helped me improve my rendering. Hope you will share more knowledge, thank you very much!
Amazing work! How long did this environment take you?
You did a really good job explaining these concepts....really want new updated & little bit more in-depth tutorial on this in unreal engine....great work
Beautiful work, are the trees and environment megascans or another asset pack?
great video. You could use the File Output node to export all passes automatically.
can you make a tutorial?
Wow! This is really nice!!😍
Any post processes? After effects or anything?
Colour graded in DaVinci Resolve
i am try a vfx shot where an emission object's emission reflects on a plane surface but i am not able to extract emission shadow/reflect only what is the best way kindly help
How can we get those nice assets
Thank you
Looking extra detailed. Render time?
Great Toutorial Thank u So much
Amazing content. Thank you for distilling and distributing. Liked and subbed
Hey i have a quick question , in blender is it possible to use a video mp4 as an hdri
Hi! Where can i download ur shader? Discord link is broken :(
Now learn audio 😂❤
Bravo - excellent video and very informative.
THANK YOU!
Awesome , did u render this in lumen or Path Tracer?
What you said from 7:55-8:10 encapsulated everything I know about lighting. So this was really nice. I would love a follow up video where we watch you implement these ideas. Maybe take one scene and create a few different light setups. I mean, when you were talking about "setups," I was really curious what some good setups look like and how they differ in terms of what goes into making them. This was great!
Stunning. You and UE5 are a good match.
The other way to think about the intent (what is the main focus) is the phrase i heard from the @polygonrunway "Painting with light" - you don't have to make it realistic, or mimic real life - use it as a "brush" to focus and direct
I got a doubt how do you do to show the texture place and show the modifications in the scene, because just need that you didn't do anything to appear the texture?
we need more courses like one u made previously, you do insane work
Make sure to give udemy a "call" for unlocking 1080p, otherwise your customers will have a pleasant 720p experience Gl with the course. Hoping for a blender one in the future with all those addons you use :)
just subscribed, your content is gold
Thanks so much
@@louixlinart followed you in Ig yesterday, hoping to learn more from you.
Thank you for making this video I had a go after watching by redoing lighting on other projects and it looked a lot better! Could you do a tutorial or some sort of video like this on fog or mist like in some of the examples like the one by huleeb at 13:09 and the others, I can find some tutorials but they don’t really explain how to change it or make it look more like the one I just put the time stamp for, I don’t really know how to describe it but like that one. Thanks!
I'm glad it helps. I'll do a tutorial on Atmosphere soon too
Thanks!
What?? This is amazing
r.HeterogeneousVolumes.IndirectLighting 1 - makes SKYLIGHT affect volume. Looks much better.
Superb work my friend!!!!!
This is a wonderful video. are you able to make a video on how to light cosy warm interiors? keep up the great work.
audio is very muffled
Too much bass in your audio.
Rgb Mask tutorial would be really cool
This video is incredible I was okay with lighting but I always wondered why I couldn't improve and my renders doesn't look good. I found the reason now, I was lighting without any direction. I just wanted to make a quality renders that's all i thought of, with this video I can definitely take my lighting to next level. I just need to ask questions before lighting. Thanks a lot
Mist pass! Wow. What an eyeopener. I was rendering the z pass and wondering why it did not behave… One question, for this to work, there needs a fog volume in the scene, or not?
You don’t need a fog volume for the mist pass to work.
its awesome❤
Well done bro! loved the info and the great pieces showcased by you 3 legends
Thank you brother 🤍
Instantly subscribed. Hope you grow your channel!
Well explained considering lighting is a very broad and hard to explain topic , Great stuff
Thanks brother 🤍
Mic is fine af
Is it really? Because a couple of people were saying I needed to EQ a bit.
Thanks a lot for valuable suggestions Louis
such a good video bro!! amazing tips!!
Thank you legend
