BUY A REAL COCONUT ON THE STREET IS WAY CHEAPER AND THE REAL THING. SUPER SELECTOS IS VERY EXPENSIVE. OR GO TO A LOCAL MARKET THEY HAVE COCONUT WATER FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU WILL PAY AT SUPER SELECTOS.

Another awesome video. I think the trendy cafe was very overpriced. Definitely stick with the local's food option! I'm not sure the trendy meal would cost that much more in Canada. When I was Mexico in 2022 for a few months it was still fine price-wise but since then the peso has really strengthened, along with general inflation, and the Canadian dollar is weak. I'm going back this winter and I'm looking at my favorite restaurants and a burger is 200 pesos, with a bad exchange rate. I can get a burger in Canada for the same. In 2020, a burger was 70 pesos with a good exchange. Definitely going to be cooking my own meals and I even have a travel hot plate if I stay in a place that doesn't have a kitchen!!!

Peaceful, and with that comes the high prices, unfortunately. But then again, this is also the fault of the people who live here in the US which overpays for properties, yeah sure, someone here in the U.S. can make $76,000 in the U.S. and can afford to buy a house and is willing to pay extra if there is another offer on that house, so basically the housing market right now, it's not for the locals. And don't get me started with the prices for hotel stays. Let the gang members out for a month to stabilize the price gouging, then let's put them back.

Merida - welcome to Mexico’s awarded best area for overall quality of life and my home for 5 years. 😊

Merida is actually going under a massive regeneration. 10 years ago, you could buy one of the decrepit buildings in centro for $15k, now they cost $250k and up for something that needs a total rehab. My husband and I spent a month there in 2021. The people are friendly and we felt very safe. We walked all over the place, including to some of the suburbs north of centro. The only issue we had was a couple of dogs came after us, which had gotten out of their yard. Thankfully, the owner wrangled them before they could attack us. We didn't see any encampments, open drug use, or social disorder, like in most NA cities. The last time I was in downtown Toronto, a woman was walking around at the corner of Shuter and Dalhousie, naked from the waste down. Another random female stranger said she was going to slit my throat when passed each other at Dundas Square. Vancouver is the same. Sad.

I truely hate these people that act as if they just discoverd my country.
