A drummer's life – "The hat is my signature" | PEOPLE | By SoonNoon
He started to play drums as a small boy, his brother played the guitar, and learning drums meant they could start a band together. Swedish drummer and musical director Simon Santunione grew up with music at home - from being all into rock and roll to play more of a pop and rnb style, he now tours the world with artists like Zara Larsson.
Simon is a true wearer of hats and it has become his signature look on. stage. When he reached out to us and wanted to create his own signature hat and of course we said YEAH! This collaboration is a perfect match as we are such big fans of music, and the result ended up in two unique new hat styles. Designed by Simon and carefully hand made by us in Stockholm.

how do you get the felt into the hat shape to begin with?

    • @soonnoon

We felt we get from our supplier is called a felt capeline, which means it comes in a simple shape with a very rough crown and brim. These capelines are then blocked into their sizes and shapes in our Stockholm studio 🤠

As an American/Swede who's been to Napoli 20 plus times I totally vibe with this guy. It's a beautifully curated shop, (perhaps a tad too on trend tbh which is lucrative but safe) but the prices as expected are no joke. Travelling, shipping, VAT and a big city space requires a steep price tag. Beautifully curated and selected for anyone who's not able to go brocanting in these regions themselves and don't have time for online auctions or the know how. Interesting selection of vintage jewelry too! I however loose interest in owning things that are super on trend and overexposed like 60's - 70's Murano lights are right now. If I go vintage hunting it's for less expected pieces, things misunderstood today will fall into public favor later on (at which point it's time to change it up if you're not too attached! ) Sweden is incredibly trend- oriented in everything (almost everyone wants to be unique the same exact way bc everyone's terribly middleclass) you see. But if you want to do business here, it's a reality you must accept. If you're ever in Stockholm go visit the shop!

@@soonnoon Yes I find drivers quite 'sufficient' when they as 'how do you manage', well I take public transport or I walk or I take a taxi or ask a friend. I worked in Paris most of my life where cars are a hindrance more than anything and public transport is cheap and easy to use. I also lived near my work each time so when I worked late I could walk home. When I had a country home my partner would never have allowed me to drive 'his' car anyway !
