    Majority of grunts now in the marine corps have PVS31s now, 03s now have a serious advantage on the battlefield those 31s switching from 14s literally felt like cheating.

    I appreciate my gut instinct matching the general tactics of your war gaming. Have you and your team discussed field fortifications, traps, barriers, and their maintenance? I’m thinking long term. Seasons and their wear on defensive cover. Pests and their diseases on fort occupants.

      Hey thanks for the feedback - I plan on reuploading them and expanding upon them I just needed to adjust the messaging a little since the developments in Ukraine have changed the nature of warfare "slightly". They're a lot of work to put together but I'm going to find time to get back into them.

    The only things I disagree with is about night vision. I haven't used 31's that are being pushed out to everyone now, but even with a pvs14, I find it to be a good advantage. Though, that also means a helmet, ain't no way I'm wearing a skull crusher. This is mainly a difference of opinion tho, great vid.

    If you find yourself in a community where only a handful of people know what's up, YOU are the instructors and it's time to train 'em up. When the time comes, We The People (all of us) will be pushed well outside our comfort zone. When you take a class from others, do your best to not only absorb the instruction material but also the instruction methods. *See one, do one, teach one.*

    Great walk through. Agree with all of it. When most people hear "communication" they think radios, forgetting that we have hands and arms, and mouths and ears. For conventional units, a 3 mag placard doesn't cut it...we don't have air on standby for CAS or extraction. 👊

      I can only speak for Army Infantry, but thats a rule that everyone in that community should know and follow. You don't want to have your buddy play 20 questions when it counts trying to figure out which multicam pouch is the ifak. As a cop I carried one on my kit same position, and one on the small of my back as a throw away to a victim/patient

    While I've never been trained, the time I spent with airsoft and other 'game warfare' (including video games) lets me know right off the bat, if I have other options, I'm not entering buildings as an aggressor, and I really don't want to be doing anything involving a stairwell. Chokepoint and a half, ends with bodies stacked high enough to block the route. Without some kind of force multiplier or disruptor (flashbangs come to mind), you aren't getting up those stairs without casualties against even a half-awake opponent. Although, I guess if you don't have to worry about penetration (no hostages or concerns about volatiles/structure integrity), you could always locate their hidey point and light them up through the floor, in most non-industrial buildings. God forbid you be silly enough to go in with no idea of the floorplan.

      Hey my dude I really appreciate it, I've actually just got a new film guy so we're set on that end. I learned everything I need to know about CQB from playing Doom for years of my life. If you are going someplace you’ve never been with the expectation to eliminate targets and you don’t know their numbers or where they are, unless there is ammo and medkits laying around you are going to die. A lot.

  • @dhoits2299

    How many mags should each member of a team that small carry? Would the standard 6 + 1 suffice, or should you bring more to compensate for your lack of firepower?

    • @futureconflicts
      @futureconflicts ปีที่แล้ว

      The real answer is it depends on the conflict. Recon teams in Vietnam carried a ton of ammo, I'm assuming for good reasons. GWOT style, I've rarely seen guys carry more than the 6 +1. Once you take contact, you're busted, mission failed. So I really need enough to break away once and that's the extent of my shooting. I only carry 4 +1 because thats how much my chest rig holds. Nothing extra in the ruck because it's heavy enough as is.

    • @shiftysmgi5333
      @shiftysmgi5333 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never a bad idea to toss 2-3 more in your pack as a little resupply. Even if it’s just a double mag pouch on the exterior of your pack with the sole purpose of being used in ambush or battle position situations.

    @nicholasbreecher931 To win wars, sometimes you MUST retreat. History is replete with examples. Many battles were won in exactly this manner as well. There are many wars which were lost directly due to commanders not accepting the battlefield situation, which can change hour to hour. Perhaps if your expertise wasn't based on TH-cam Ranger SEaL videos you would know that. This video, and the senario implied is not about a greater conflict. It was about dealing with encountering a larger force that has commandeered your area of operation/control. If you want to harrass a larger force by sabotaging their toilets 😅, again you go ahead and tell me how that goes. About this video, doorkicking as the guy said, "this is something you don't want to do." I agree, this is stupid. Don't know why this vid is made other than to get clicks. But you go on how you're 5Star General Rambo. 😅😅 And how I'm such a chicken/dumbs**t.
