Exploring an abandoned children's summer camp in Brezoi, Romania
Hello, this adventure takes us to an abandoned children's summer camp in Brezoi, Valcea County, Romania, very close to the Calimanesti and Caciulata resorts. Situated in the middles of the Carpathians mountains, surrounded by beautiful scenery, the camp is almost 100 years old and during its existence hosted countless generation of children. According to the little infomation I could gather, the camp was abandoned sometimes in the early 2000's, and since then it has been left to rot, its ruins quickly decaying year by year. Such a shame considering the unique architecture of the camp's buildings and the very favorable position.

Custom brass fender for a vintage KTM hobby moped [DIY - metalworking]
Recently I have required a derelict KTM Hobby moped from the early 70's. Part of the process of bringing it back to life involved finding something to use as a front fender, which was missing. Therefore I have decided to make my own fender, in my small metal workshop out of brass and the resulting video is the visual story of how this brass fender was crafted. I hope you'll like it!
Old tool presentation: the reciprocating metal saw from the 1970's [Kasto Junior]
Today's video star is an unusual but clever gadget: a Kasto Junior metal cutting saw from the late 1970's. A metal cutting tool made back in the day when even hobby-level tools were quality machines build to last. This reciprocating metal saw was designed to be powered by a regular electric drill and it was a handy addition to any hobbyist's metalwork shop (or shed) back in the day allowing for...
Demonstrating the metal shrinker-stretcher. A must have tool in the D.I.Y. workshop!
The shrinker stretcher does what its name implies: it shrinks or stretches a metal lip allowing the creation of various rounded metal lips which in turn can be used to create replacement panels for vintage car metal work, for metal art projects or various metal fabrication elements. Today I am going to demonstrate its use with brass, but of course, it can be used with all the usual metals found...
Making a [DIY] metal shrinking stump for sheet metal work
Hello! In today's video I shall make a very simple but useful "tool": a metal shrinking stump. That is, a wood stump with a carved top to be used for beating sheet metal into shape. The design is simple and all you need to do is to locate a dry wood stump and find a way to carve its top into a concave shape. For this is have chosen to use a wood carving disk mounted on an angle grinder. It's no...
Making an adjustable support stand from an old car scissor jack and flywheel
An adjustable support stand is a very useful thing to have around in a workshop, essential for supporting long pipes that are being cut with the metal band saw, but also very useful when working on projects that extend beyond your welding table. In this video I am making my own version: an adjustable one using an old car scissor jack and an old heavy 6V Volkswagen Type 1 flywheel. It might not ...
This village was wiped out from the face of the Earth, let's explore the sad ruins of its church

Hello friends, This video tells the story of my little expedition to the place where once a thriving community used to be. The Filiu village was one home to more than 1500 people but two World Wars and a massive flood made it vanish from the face of the Earth. Only the ruins of the once mighty church stand today, in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of that today is regular agricultural land...
Convertible soft top rear window repair with mechanical fasteners ( Audi TT Mk1 )

Hello, In this video I shall share with you my D.I.Y. attempt at repairing the soft top window of my Audi TT 8n cabriolet convertible. The cabrio soft top itself was in good condition and color-matched to the car, but the initial glass window was long gone and a previous owner attempted to fix it by gluing a plastic sheet in place. By the time I got the car the plastic was brittle and almost go...
DIY vintage/steampunk brass plated artwork with killer patina made of thick electro-etched 5mm steel

I explore the [Broken Tower], ruined Transylvanian border in the Carpathians

Greetings ! So I decided to drive my Suzuki LJ80 to visit the "Broken Tower" former border post between Transylvania (back in the day part of the Austro-Hungarian empire) and the Kingdom of Vallachia (Romania), on the path of the river Olt in the Carpathians. The original "Broken Tower" dates from medieval times, more than 700 years ago, but during a flood in the 1500's the tower broke in two. ...

Well, this style of motorized bike had a very long production run. Yours being from 2005 is totally plausible, as well as mine being from the 1980's :) When I first got it years ago i did my research and concluded is from the 80's.

I have one that has not been used for years, but I think it has had very little use. The engine will not turn over, but also wheel will turn forwards, but not backwards. So I am not sure if engine is seized, or something in the drive to the wheel. It can't be the brake, so why will wheel no turn backwards, clutch seized up?..
Hello, yes, if the wheel spins in one direction only AND the engine will not turn over, i would suspect the clutch, unfortunately.
@isographer Thanks, looks like it needs completely stripping down.
Not bad bro!! Gonna get me a cheap Amazon gun and try this technique

Main question is: does extending fuel lines not changing a fuel pressure? Edit: I just watched to the end „more power, and more torque „ 😂😂😂😂😂
Hy, this is a valid question, however i think the length of additional line necessary to affect fuel pressure is far greater than what I have installed in that particular experiment. And yes, the engine feels much more lively and it would appear it would have better torque. Mind you, in small measures, but certainly something you can feel.
you dont need to remove cord it has screws
Unfortunately the model I had was without screws. The power cord just went into a block of plastic sealed with resin.
@@isographer i have Hitachi g12stx, and i needed to change a cord, and a screws was under like plastic cover or something. And yours looks like mine...
@@mantastumas5824 Than you are lucky. The whole reason I have made this video is because of the fact that the cord of my Hitachi went directly into a sealed resin-block, which appeared as a very poor design decision. Now, many times manufacturers produce *similar* items in different quality grades or batches for different markets. My grinder was bought new in in my country, Romania, so I suspect that had something to do with it...
My dad didn't like wearing a face mask either is lung stopped working eventually
very good and interesting video with clear explanation. Even though the cast didnt turn out as good as you had hoped, for a first attempt, it was still quite good and most importantly many lessons were learnt for the future so things can only get better .
Thanks for sharing this. Ive just seen one on ebay for sale and wondered how it worked. Now i know...thank you. lovely setting and video.
First time I see someone using the same moka pot as me .. I think it's way neater than a regular moka pot.
well done, thanks for posting this
The only thing I might have done differently would be have a bead of sealant or glue between the frame and canvas as this would also give strength to the canvas - sort of like the bond/rivet idea Jaguar used when building their aluminium cars. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.
Hy, i have considered using some sealant but in the end decided to go against it, for three reasons: 1. In case my experiment wasn't successful and I had to re-do it, i did not want to compromise the lip of the opening with hardened/sticky sealant. This way, if things go bad, i can just drill out the rivets and re-do it. 2. I was hoping that the canvas will become its own sealant, and luckily, it did. I sprayed the canvas top with a pressure washer many times, and I have no water ingress at the rear window ( i had to put a drop of gel Super Glue on each of the rivet's centers, because i had water seeping in through there, but not at the actual lip/rim of the window 3. I was afraid that applying sealant might result in ugly run-out dripping from under the metal frame, as I am not usually very good with glues/gooey stuff.
@@isographer "i had to put a drop of gel Super Glue on each of the rivet's centers, because i had water seeping in through there" - You have addressed my only concern. Basically I was worried that the hole in the canvas would move over time and become distorted, thus allowing water ingress. But you have it covered - nice job. If only all cars had the rear window pressed in, like my Saabs, instead of glued in, like my Volvo and your Audi, the world would be a better place...!

very interesting.
I love the trick! Thanks. One question for you: If you have a seal with flange, you remove the flange or do the trick with the flange in place? Thanks
Very good
Nice Video. But your edeting and visuals need some work.
All in good time, nobody was bon all-knowing.
I bought one in 1986 , it was pretty expensive . Excellent optics , heavy glass lenses . I still have it .
Yep, the optics are of high quality and overall the kit is a nice thing to have on your collection. Since getting the kit depicted in this video, I got another separate Tair 300mm lens to actually "abuse" and shoot with it.
My parents had one of these from 1981 - around 2012, except it had a radio built into it as well. :-)
If only they made a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator... 🤔
And miss out all the gore?
Given that those parts are not fully accessible why would you not remove all of the surface corrosion first, and when the nut was slightly loose retighten it partially and lubricate it? Actually, with the hose cut away, you could unbolt the bracket, clamp the barrel with vice grips and spin the bracket half off.
Hy, I have made this video with the purpose of showing what happens when you try to use heat to dislodge a stuck pipe nipple. The brake pipes and the bake hoses got replaced anyway on that car, so actually i could have used even more destructive methods than this one.

I have the same kit, but I didn't know much about the history. Thanks for explaining!
Hey good day. Were they original wheels? They look a bit wider than my LJ80v . What is the size of those tyres u have on there? Thanks !
Hello, the tires are 195 SR 15 on stock rims. They are slightly bigger (wider) than the standard tires but they go well with the car and are easier to get.
@@isographer thanks so much for your response. I have an LJ80v and it had 16-6 rims with very thin bar treads. I am looking to get 215 on there with wider rims similar 👍
@@andrebaumbach9447 From what I understand the older style 16 inch rims equipped originally with bias ply ties are more common on LJs. In Europe in the later years of production there were 15 inch wheels offered (equipped with 165 SR 15 radial tires). To be frank a part of me would want to find a set of older wheels and try them on just for fun, but on the other hand i like the car as it is now :)
Nice
Let that plaster of Paris sit for a week. Then heat it up slowly before pouring.
Hy, thank you for your sound advice. I have thought about doing so myself, and I believe it will work, however I wanted something a little quicker so in a subsequent video I have heated up the plaster mold in a kitchen gas oven, face down. The results were satisfactory, albeit the melted PLA smell was not (but the good part is that PLA is non-toxic) and overall the pour went well. Foarte tare!
Salut, Twingo-ul l-am vandut unui amic, inca merge cu ea. As merge pe Fiat Seicento, ca sa fiu sincer, strict pt. oras.
Succes.
I'am very interested in this mold making as I pour copper ingots on my channel looking to do more molds so awesome to learn nice work mate
Thank you, the secret is to use sand. I have actually managed to cast a more complex shape in a later video, but in that situation I have kept the mold over night in the oven. I do believe that it is important to remove all the water content from it.
Great job. Really nice vise, well worth the restoration. Your other vise looks good also. Time to give it a redo?
Hy, thanks for the kind words. To be frank it will not happen soon as the second vise is a locally produced one (Romania) in the 1990's and is not as valuable and is quite common around here. Furthermore, it is the vise I abuse the most and sees a lot of grinding, hammering and bashing not to forget all those times I've clamped something in it and heated up with a blowtorch... so unfortunately it won't get pretty any time soon.... I just oil the main screw and sliders from time to time.
Hell nah
Great idea thanks. I have a carburetor fed type3 VW. Would you recommend heating the gasoline on a coil around exhaust pipe? Too dangerous?
Hy, you could do it if your type 3 is fuel injected but i wouldn't recommend it in a carburetor type 3, or any carburetor-powered car for that matter, except "maybe" in winter. Today's modern gasoline is much more volatile and it will literally boil in the carburetors and vapor lock all the time. In a fuel injected cars this does not happen as the gasoline is in a closed pressurized system and is constantly returning to the fuel tank spanning the full length of the car. Also, if fuel injected don't do it by wrapping the fuel line directly on the exhaust - it is too hot, find some way to add a bit of insulation between the fuel line and the exhaust, so that the fuel line won't get hotter than 100 degrees Celsius.
Thank You!
recently watched your video again and this question came up: is this device as effective for carburetor fed engine as it is for direct injected ones.? Thanks again
How does this technique hold up against the elements? I have a stainless steel boiler inside my sauna I am tempted to try this plating on...:)
Hy, i don't think it will hold well against the weather. All the artworks i have plated this way in the past were protected by applying adittional layers of clearcoat.
Thanks! If I do it I will update how it worked out, might add a coat just in case@@isographer
