Μe as a greek feel so sad that most of the neoclassical bulidings in big cities were destroyed 😭 if all of athens was like plaka it could be very beautiful

Thank you Morris yes I visited Vouti and Agia Eleni in the lucky two years, I worked on the island, I was particularly impressed with beauty of Eleni, but as this old video seemed too long, so I left them off. A friend went by boat to Fteri and loved it. Enjoy this stunning island.

Thank you for your comment, great you went to Kefalonia after recommending it, the island is stunning. Lefkada is unique and very different when you drive around it. There are many lovely towns and the west coast is stunning, like nowhere else in the world with amazing blue waters. Paxos and Ithaca are very Greek and very pretty islands but not many big beaches and small. Skiathos has many beaches, but very touristy and busy. I liked Karpathos, again very stunning. Heard Samos is lovely too, not been to the other smaller ones you have mentioned. Naxos I loved and one of my favourites in Greece, it has a lot to offer and like most of these islands your need a car. Hard to choose between the Cyclades and Ionian both have amazing beaches, as you have seen two recent Ionian islands, maybe give the Cyclades a go. Lefkafa has some of the best beaches in Greece . It’s small . Corfu is nice big island nice beaches . North Greece mainland halkidiki has amazing beaches . First and second fingers . (Look it up on the map ) Milos is gorgeous .touristy but amazing . Paros and andiparos. Naxos and take a boat trip to koufonisia, amazing . Serifos. And rhodos all Amazing

Peri, you are mistaken. The place is really wonderful. There is a great castle, interesting museums, souvenir shops, very tasty food, beaches and, of course, the sea !!! People come here to have a rest and to enjoy the stunning nature ( nothing more! ). To see more I do recommend you to go to New York - you will have a good time breathing smog...

Peri Nestor where are you from? because when someone says about nafplio the only beautiful thing is the cafeterias two-three things means or he is for one ungly greek town with ungly builds and flats blocks of 70s and jealous or when he came Nafplio the only thing witch visit in was the port and café or he was born without having in his life the sense of beautiful. Other logical answer i don't have and i don't think there is.

Thanks Cristos, as you can tell there are so many along all the coast of the Peloponnese and so many beautiful areas and villages. If I had to chose a few I really liked Voidokilia and Romanos beaches in the Messenia area and of course Elafonisos Island. I also particularly loved the Mani region it has so many villages to explore.

The Beach Hunter you nailed it!! I believe the clarity of water, white sand, overall colors of water and land around the island of Elafonisos ( Simos, kato nisi, leuki and pounta) makes it the jewel of Peloponnesus !! You can find many little pockets of beaches with those characteristics but Elafonisos island has them in abundance..!!! And as you mentioned Mani.. the most unique place on this planet.. taking into consideration its bold rocky beauty in combination with it’s history and culture... surrounded by it’s crystal clear waters .. YOU GOTTA LOVE LACONIA !!

Hi Jud, Your list of islands to see in Europe is spot on and perfect but not a lover of Cyprus now too commercial and not enough stunning beaches. I would add Lefkada, Greece to your list, as it has about ten quality beaches, maybe Naxos and Skiathos too. Kefalonia is a beautiful island many diverse splendid beaches, and great to explore whilst driving and a day in Ithaca is recommended by boat from Sami in Kefalonia as it is just a gorgeous island. Visit my Facebook page The Beach Hunter where there are many post and videos on some of these islands and that might help make your mind up. Thanks.

The Beach Hunter thank you for your answer! Isnt skiathos a bit small for a week? And which greek island has the most beautiful beaches? We love small beaches and bays with white sand, blue water and not so many tourists. Would you prefer sardinia/sicilia or a greek island?

Skiathos has over 26 splendid beaches and you could also pop over too Skopelos too by boat for the day. I worked in Greece for the last 4 years so love Greece, but any of these islands will be busy peak time. Sardinia is big and worth exploring, similar in size to Crete which is nice, but I recommend Kefalonia if you have never been as I had two great years there.

The Beach Hunter thank you! Its really helpful to talk to someone who has actually been on these islands. So you would prefer kefalonia to skiathos/naxos/lefkada?

I am going to Naxos for the first time in May island hopping as there are many islands around it to explore. Kefalonia is stunning for views but avoid it in August. Your best now to google away on each island on flights, places to stay and beaches etc to see what ticks your boxes as we all have different preferences. Good luck Jud.

Thanks Lefkada is a diverse stunning island but being joined to the mainland it will have months where the beaches get crowded. I enjoyed the walk to Mylos and when you arrive it is beautiful, probably my favourite beach of the island. At the time of making this I was working full time in Kefalonia so popped over for just two days and missed Agiofili beach in the South which looks also very beautiful but again was told it gets busy.
