I've booked a trip to the South Island in a few months. There seems to be plenty of scenery from just driving and short walks. I'm a bit too old and fat to do the longer walks. Thanks for sharing so I can see it, too.

You can walk into that cave from the other end and walk through and climb out up that waterfall

In NZ most gardens in cities are free. They are normally cared for by the local council and most are very pretty. Hamilton is at the top end. They also have a big Lake there not far from where you were. Walking tracks or hiking tracks in NZ are also public access and maintained by the government dept called DOC or Dept of Conservation. DOC has a website that lists them all. Most towns and cities have visitor centres that are also worth a visit and are also free. They should be listed on Google. Not bad pronounciation of Watomo very close lol.... Wai said as Y. To said as TOE and Mo said as MOW. Put them together and you have YTOEMOW.

Not sure if its on your list but Owharoa Falls is a short 30 second walk off the road if you're heading towards Waihi/Tauranga and very pretty. Your pronounciation of Maori words is not bad. Enjoy our beautiful country.

There are ao much tourists that to take that picture form the bridge with that large waterfall you have to fight at liesg 100 of people trying to take a picture too- it's overcrowded there
