I make videos about stuff i dig.
I produce music as Indighost, and am in 2 bands! (Generational Gap and A Pale Umbra)

Why I Love "Music Has The Right To Children"
Too much talking. Sorry.
30k views has to be a joke
@@lLIFANT just like my entire existence
This video is transcendent, fabulous!
when you started talking about color of fire and gave the example of the i love you sesame street animation idk why but i started crying
Its so weird to hear about gen z and even my generation referance this album as nostalgic specifically to their experience. This entire album evokes a dejavu for a time period we never lived in and I think it must be remembered for the time period its set in (the 70's) rather then some nonsense on how a certain song reminded you of a meme you watched in 2015 or wow...this is just like LIMINAL SPACE. Shut up. Enjoy a time period you weren't alive in.
Absolutely amazing. This is beautiful work and I thank you
This is insanely creative. You should turn this into a novel.
Thanks man! Great idea!
what's the song in 2:01 ? is it boc ? i need to know!
It's around 14:08 of th-cam.com/video/Jm1BjJNd3JU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BnVl1wIYlwbOxXeS
@@iamacookie6 ok thank you! :)
What a load of pseudo intellectual, pretentious word salad. BS, it’s just amazing music, nothing more. You aren’t special you’re just arrogant, self obsessed, highfaluting, grandiose, grandiose and pompous.
You got a friend in me, Seesong
thanks yo🫡
Finally someone makes me feel tht m not the only one <3 .
WOW
Gotta go with the two Minecraft albums. Also Ry X - Dawn does it for me. Please do more videos! Longer analysis ones, you’re so good at them. It’s really a breath of fresh air
BoC has been part of my life for 20 years now and I always come back to their unique sounds because they have not date, are enigmatic and their creators are a mystery.
best albums ever. thank you for putting these out there more :•)
Some all time faves!
id say my go too at the current moment is The Ballasted Orchestra from SotL. you can hear what comes up in The Tired Sounds of but it’s much more eerie but also very relaxing. The “Music for Twin Peaks Episode #30” tracks are absolute perfection
also lol one more comment. a friend of mine pushed me to listen to Gas a few months back and i didn’t really think anything of it until i found Pop at a record store in town. I bought it about 3 years ago now and i’ve been a changed person since. Gas made me realize how important nature is and whatnot haha. Sorry for dumping all these comments 😅
@@gunnison1031 funny you mention twin peaks cuz I just finished watching the return for the first time and loved it! I'll definitely have to revisit that album
@@iamacookie6 you should listen to Substrata again too considering it heavily samples it
olson is still an amazing ambient piece that is sadly short :( i wish it was like 7 or atleast 4 minutes
you described ROYGBIV perfectly :)
God this was so beautiful and I thought the words about your father were also quite beautiful. I do not know you, but I can assure that this video would make anyone quite impressed and proud.
Thank you ♥️
Inspiration!
wow you did such u fucking great job wtf
Its such a good album , im really happy that i got a cd of music has the right to children
This was a very interesting take on MHTRTC, and a beautiful tribute to your father.
Thank you! ♥️
This channel is vastly underrated. Very well edited, you are epical Mr @seesong
Thanks yo!
This is beautiful. The guitars remind me of the Smiths how soon is now. Gorgeous.
The talking backwards at the end of Happy Cycling is apparently Jeff Lynn from Electric Light Orchestra talking about how people think he uses back masking in his music, but he doesn't. It's one of the many details that make this album so so good. Congrats again on an amazing piece of work man!
This is an astonishing essay. Thanks very much! I'm 52 and sort of missed them somehow in the 90's. I came in at Geogaddi and have listened to them a bit or a lot most days ever since. No one has been like them before or since. I keep hoping that they've been busy raising teens and will start releasing stuff again soon. After all, they never tour and so could theoretically keep releasing music well in to their 70's. Ha! Maybe....
We can only hope!
HEY BEN
I don't relate to your feelings about the MHTRTC album, but still find them deep. Is my favorite album ever, I absolutely love BOC and hope they come back with something someday
Ironic
This video better blow up now
Dang dude..
i'm not very into Electronic music however i always like boc a their particular style
What is the interlude between songs called?
It's from a live show they did...it's around 14:08 th-cam.com/video/Jm1BjJNd3JU/w-d-xo.html
@@iamacookie6 Thanks so much I've been looking for this everywhere :)
I think BoC is a genre.
See that live shot. I have that mixer. ❤
Thought that you had 3 of my own top picks in your top 5 but it turns out the Gas that you list here is a different Gas to the artist that I was thinking of. Gas (Matt Jarvis) is also an ambient artists who released some excellent music on the now defunct *'em:t records'* label in the early 90s. His earlier material had more of a techno element but he now is known as 'High Skies' and concentrates on similar content to much of the artists on your list.
I'll check it out!
BoC & Biosphere are very similar in places for me. They both perfectly capture and illustrate the cold & desolate nature of their locations (which aren't too dissimilar) to the point where you feel you're on a slow train ride through sparsely populated Scandnavian/Caladonian/Canadian landscapes, passing through the occasional industrial zone, chemical plant, seaside town etc. but mainly barron yet beautiful stretches of unoccupied & untouched fields, hills, sands, seas or snow with melting skies emitting a calm colour changing aroura borealis. Living in the north east of England (County Durham) we have a lot of those elements here & I instantly related to BoC & Biosphere as my environment(s) expressed in audio. Being of similar age to the artists I also saw/heard a lot of the same PSA films & the school projector sounds that BoC thread heavily through their work. Sometimes you feel as though music was made just for you personally & these 2 artists (BoC & Biosphere) have that effect on me.
You know what, this comment's got my wheels turning. I think I particularly appreciate these artists for the same reasons you mentioned (capturing the overall feel of their surroundings). Being from Southern California I can't really think of any artists who have tried to use the physical geography of my area as direct inspiration in an album context (maybe other than queens of the stone age's concept album "song's for the deaf", but not any electronic/ambient artists to my knowledge). Socal is somewhat unique because within an hour's drive we have beaches, forested mountains, urban decay, and deserts. Would be cool for someone (possibly myself) to try and reflect this musically, maybe in a 4 part suite format.

was listening to zones without people and thought of your stuff, hope you're doing well. the tracks you posted on soundcloud a month ago are really nice!
I always thought of an Eagle in your mind being from the perspective of a baby
I've been listening to boards of Canada since I was in kindergarten and the first song that I've heard from them was music is math from the albums Geogaddi
This was amazing thank you for making it
this is great do one of geogaddi!
yes
wow dude this is heavy as fuck
This was an incredible analysis for one of my favorite albums! Also would you be interested in analyzing other BoC albums? I’d think a video on the Campfire Headphase would be cool.
Absolutely, the big 4 all deserve an analysis
@@iamacookie6 nice

Yeah that’s right!
i gotta good experience with pop, definitely agree with the auditory hallucinations too, i think it was around my 100th or so listen i started hearing the high pitch frequencies that play throughout the album haha. I have been listening to this album consistently either sleeping or awake for 10 years now. My top 5 albums to detoxify your brain: 1) GAS - POP 2) Biosphere - Subsrata 3) Celer - Discourses of the Withered 4) Celer - Sadha 5) Steve Roach - Structures from Silence Cheers mate, nice video and subject matter
A fellow biosphere enjoyer, cheers
hearing about your father was incredible. your relationship with him sounds like it was something truly beautiful
Thank you, it rly was
wow i just woke up maybe an hour ago from a dream where i was flying over a bunch of apartment buildings to "i saw drones" and now theres a BoC video in my recommended damn!
"Fun" Fact: The text we hear on One Very Important Thought is actually stolen from a pornographic film (A Brief Affair, 1981). The version featured on Boc Maxima samples the original voice, with a distortion filter (presumably). Obviously, they later changed parts of it to fit into MHRTC, especially since the aforementioned film contains John Abercrombie's Timeless as background music, which they didn't clean up for Maxima. It's a very weird medium to sample from imo, but kind of aligns with the whole idm vibe, especially given that aphex twin also sampled porn on Come On You Slags. Anyways, great video! Your "analysis" for Open the Light was beautiful.
This is a masterpiece. An exceptional testament to Boards of Canada! Thoroughly enjoyed this and gave me an immense feeling of nostalgia and hope... thank you and all the best
Thank you!
