I found one and my mom won’t lemme keep it and she refuses to take it to the animal shelter it has a cut above its eye and has some slimy substance in her right eye she’s really skinny and I would like to know what can I do to make sure she’s safe even when she’s outside

Thanks for this. I was thinking my 2yo cat who lives in a big house and LOVES zoomies "needed" a "friend" that she was "lonely and bored" even tho we are home all the time. I read alot of conflicting stuff about getting a 2nd cat. After watching your video I know I'd probably be in well over my head getting a 2nd cat.

It’s Christmas Day. I just found a skinny to the bone beautiful cat on the bins sleeping . Thought it was dead . Gave the cat a tin of tuna and a pack of cat food . I have never seen a cat so hungry and he or she purred all while eating . The cat is now In my bathroom with food and a drink . A bed and a litter tray . Dunno if it’s a boy or girl but they are big so I’m thinking male . There isn’t much I can do as it’s Christmas Day beyond keep them safe and warm and fed . I have a cat and a dog so my dog is fine but I’m not going to stress any animals out so will keep them separate till I figure out my next move . My hope is the cat distribution system favours me and all the animals accept each other and become frens and the new cat is healthy and just needs love and food and basic shots and flea and worm treatment

Children grow up and get jobs. Your pets stay dependent and a financial burden stop comparing the two its insulting to ypur own existence as a human. Last time I checked humans aren't licking shit off their anals and then kissing you ? If they did it would be gross right? Then why do people accept this with dogs and cats? Why is it only dogs and cats matter but not deers, pigs, cows, chickens , racoons, possums whats so special about these two animals that we can keep them in a home but leave the other animals as food or as road kill? So called "animal lovers" are hypocrites. Disgusting people.

hey what do i do there’s this really sweet cat i think he has owners and is just an outdoor cat but i dont think theyre they’re the best owners, once he had a visible injury, luckily it healed well, but if he does have owners they continued to let him outside and get dirty, he isnt particularly thin but i fed him and he was really hungry

I had to rehome my baby, my dad couldn’t take it anymore and was so allergic and sick because of my cat. I miss him so so so so so much, I wish I could get him back and move out so my dad wouldn’t feel sick constantly. I see his pictures on the shelter’s website and it makes me so sad.

We had a ~8 month cat show up on our porch in sub zero winter weather. No collar, no chip, not neutered, clearly not used to being outside. We couldn't find an owner. I suspect he was someone's cute little kitten that wasn't cute any more and got dumped. My wife works with a cat adoption agency so we got the little guy into their adoption program. By luck we know the people that adopted him so we get updates now and then on how he's doing. I've also had cats just show up at a little vacation spot I have a couple miles from town and a mile away from the nearest neighbor. They've all gotten the same treatment if they weren't just a neighbor's cat out hunting. A couple of those were foster failures and we still have them.

Me and my sister fell in love with a cat we found in yours grandma’s neighborhood. She’s the sweetest thing ever! And very old but I love her. She’s good with people, people in the neighborhood feed her and give her water. But she’s always dirty. And she’s the only cat. So I think me and my sister will bring her to the vet.

The cat distribution system left a delivery in our front porch lol At first we thought it might be someone's so we assumed it might leave after a while but she stayed there, I called her to give her some water to get a closer look and she was surprisingly very friendly and seemed not to scared of me anymore but then we noticed she was so skinny it was sad I had to get her some food. We think she might ve been owned by someone but was dumped in our neighborhood as this isn't the first it has happened. It's very recent so we are gonna be taking her to the vet very soon just in case

This comment section was the most helpful thing ever. I brought home the cutest little kitten to foster and take care of till we find a permanent home. It’s been 8 days. I decided to adopt her after 3 days. But I realised that I don’t work from home and she’s so small, just 4 weeks old, she needs immense love and attention. I can take her to work but it was tiring in just one week. I can’t imagine doing it for months. And even when she’s older, she’ll spend more time with my roommate than me. That just doesn’t make sense. Not to mention my roommate has 3 cats already. My mental health is already on the edge. I just feel so guilty and sad wondering if mental health is a reason enough to rehome her. I know for sure that if she stays here, she’ll be more attached to my roommate than me. Honestly, not okay with that too. And if something goes wrong like catching fleas,etc., the environment in the house can easily fire up since other cats will also be at risk. I know this is the right decision, but I feel so selfish taking it.

My stray cat i found is a ginger it had no tag or collar whatsoever i found it in the front yard by the driveway my mom has to check it fir flea's before we let it inside it is a girl we decided to name it Beth it let's me pet it but i haven't tried picking it up but it allowed my parents too

I have only adopted. And all three have been the most amazing dogs. In addition to that, my husband and I have fostered over 150 dogs and that includes litters, elderly dogs, injure, dogs, etc. people always ask me what is the secret and I said we provide a very calm atmosphere, since it’s just the two of us and we give them a routine right away and make them feel safe. I would never recommend anyone who doesn’t have the time or may have to focus on young children. Do not foster or get a young or old dog. I personally would not adopt or even buy a puppy. You have no idea what their personality is going to be like. I have birthed puppies up to 17 in a litter and each one comes out with their own set of blueprints. Sad to say of the two buying from a breeder or adopting a mixed dog or even purebred from the shelter is far better than any breeding dog I have ever encountered. You could argue that it’s because of the person buying the dog and raising it from a puppy is the problem and not the dog itself

I adopted a cat 5 days ago, but I started getting head/sinus pressure after hanging out with it. It seems like I have developed a cat allergy and I am going to surrender her back to the Humane Society tonight. I am so hurt and sad. I love her so much, but I need to look after myself.
