How many days of rest do you run between sessions and how many sets do you run in each session?
I train on Monday and Thursday when I’m in a routine
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 Do you train equally hard and for the same number of times in both sessions or do you run slightly lighter on Thursdays and heavier on Mondays. I also do Monday Thursday but on Mondays I do five sets and Thursdays only three and less reps but relatively heavy. Often switches between several reps, type runs 5*5 sometimes and 5*3 sometimes 5*8 runs holds sometimes 5*5 and then only one rep and holds until it starts to open and then releases it. 1.5 years now and very close to 2.5 now but difficult with the last millimeter!
@@GripperCc I do 5 sets on Monday and 3 on Thursday,
@@GripperCc I do sets of 5 one week sets of 3 the next then sets of 2 then deload. Try doing coin holds
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 Coin hold I understand what it is but do not understand the purpose of that exercise how it will improve to close the last millimeter I have left. I do the hold exercise when I close the handles completely on a slightly lighter gripper and hold it until the handles go up a few millimeters and then release. It feels strange to put a coin in between, because you build muscle memory on not closing the gripper completely. If you remove the coin instead and close a lighter gripper completely and crush until it opens, you build the strength in the bottom pull of the grip and not a few millimeters away with a coin in between. You are welcome to explain what I missed with that exercise as I don't understand how it should build strength in the last few millimeters. I understand there against those who file down a slightly lighter gripper of a few pounds and close past the normal width, then you build strength past what is needed and I can understand that, but don't build strength in front before the handles join together.

2-3 years I can’t remember exactly how long. When I’m training grippers I train Twice a week. I’m not training them now because I’ve been training for a armwrestling match and heavy wrist curls with fat grips destroys my hands
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 Yeah I started armwrestling a bit (doing also heavy fat gripz training as well) and the past 2 weeks my forearms were blown. I am now not sure if to get back to armwrestling.. Anywyas I am doing armwrestling exercises, mostly a lot of volume light weight for now. And sometimes trying to do heavy if I dont feel pain

Ive been trying to catch a 137-142lb #3 on cannons website but never see them lower than 148 normally. How long have you been training grippers and whatd you start at? Idk if its cuz im new to these, but when i do a workout im sore as shit and weak relatively speaking for like 1.5-2 weeks. I have been doing armwrestling training as well so maybe thats why? Im nursing a wrist injury back to healthy so im hoping when fully healed ill be in the 140lb range.
I haven’t seen one around that range either, this was my certification gripper Iron mind. If there’s a way to balance armwrestling and grippers I haven’t found it yet. I’ve been messing around with grippers since 2018 and been running a serious problem for around a year. I closed a 2.5 as soon as I started but took 2 years to close a 3
@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 ok good to know. I also closed my 2.5 after the first grip work out. I made my own rating setup going off cannons rated grippers I bought for a gauge. My 2.5 was gritty and creaked and when I rated it, it was like 140lbs then I oiled it and it went down to 125lbs. I was hoping to get to the #3 within a year but with this injury I def don't see it happening that soon especially since mines a 149 and huge spread and I don't have giant hands
@@fishingpatriot2344 you’ve got really good potential
@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 I think it's mostly from working hard physical labor since I was like 14. I've had a shit ton of tendon nd muscle injuries but shit seems to still be working somewhat haha. I went prob 10years without lifting due to injuries but im getting back into it finally. My problem is my strong hand is my left so normal grippers feel more awkward in my left. I have a #3 left turn that I rated at 145lbs but it's even more of a spread than the reg #3 I have. I've been wanting to try it but at the same time I wanna heal my wrist as it impedes my ability at work. You ever seen that stemcell therapy? I wish it wasn't so expensive as it seems to work good for the older armwrestlers like devon that have alot of damage.

Great review. I just started using a set of generic grips from Amazon. I've been training every night for 2 weeks and have an injury. Thanks for laying out your rest schedule.
Great vid. What's your rest schedule? Im a newbie.
I usually train twice a week but it’s hard to balance, gripper training and arm wrestling at the same time so I haven’t been really training here as of recent
Good vid bro simple straight to the point 👉 a mean bro let's be real how exiting can we make gripper vids anyhow 😂 am currently training to cert a 3 so watching your vid u mentioning your progress is great to hear bro 👍
You want to strive to keep the gripper closed so the handles go against each other, so why do you run with a coin in between then you miss those millimeters and don't understand why you do that? or is it a competitive moment? I myself think if you do it so often that you build a muscle memory and lose power at the last millimeter!
There are four of us who compete against each other and with grippers. The other three completed No. 2 earlier than I did and we didn't think much of it until I brought my grippers with me when we had pentathlon. No one managed to close my no. 2 they were not around close close it while I closed theirs without problem. Then we started researching this and it hit 10 kg from the lightest one to my No. 2 and that's a lot. But we found a good table from the company that rated canon's gripper and there are big variations on some grippers. The others' three did not differ much, but were on the reference within a few kilos, but mine stood out significantly. Of the 495 measured No. 2, the lightest was 96 and the heaviest was 117. The lightest No. 2.5 was 110 and the heaviest 140! I look at my No. 3 still in its packaging it's much wider than my 2.5 so I'm dreading the day I open it and try it on. But will first do 10 reps on No. 2.5 before I open it. My no. 2 is much wider than my 2.5 and they have the same spring height so the difference is a thicker spring on the no. 2.5 and it is heavier but not much more than my no. 2.
Unbelievable what strength! I see that many people think you should close them with just one hand. Lucky for me, you get to put the gripper and help close a few mm with your left, because I have such short hands that I would never have been able to do it with just one hand. I think you should read up on the rules as to what applies before commenting negatively. Saw you close a No. 3 without setting it and absolutely incredibly strong but easy to hurt yourself and get seriously injured if you don't place the gripper perfectly because there will be a very unnecessary load on the hand and forearm right from the start if you don't place the gripper with the other hand
Yeah I only have done once and it was way below my max gripper so hopefully won’t hurt myself
Superman!
How often do you train with grippers and what does your program look like? I ride heavy sometimes and go more for reps sometimes. Have made a four on a heavy No. 2, so am quite a beginner! Continuing with 2.5 but hard as hell with the last millimeters and struggling with them. I drive twice a week and drive different ones most of the time. Jsg has lasted one year and three months. But I still haven't gotten to the point where I always feel strong, but my strength varies a lot from time to time. Sometimes I don't get number 2 together but the other day I almost scored a four on it! Well it takes time to build grips and how long have you been doing grippers to reach your incredible strength!
I started in 2018 but i just kinda messed around with them, I started a actual program less than a year ago. I train twice a week, I do training sessions like 5 sets of 3 or 5 sets of 2
I do the cadence based gripper program, it’s online for like 35 dollars
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 I downloaded Tommy Heslip's book for free and my friend Martin Arildsson passed Cc no. 4 as well as Magnus Samuelsson and got a lot of tips there. They always mixed heavy and light training. Sometimes only singles sometimes threes fives sometimes only holds and sometimes like 10-15 reps. If you run twice a week, you really don't need a lot of reps, 5X5 is enough and 3X5 works too. There are no shortcuts without hard training and never giving up even if it goes backwards, just keep feeding and you will pass the plateau. Then there's the fact that with all the training, everyone will never ever lift 300 kg in the bench press regardless of training, just like everyone can't run 100 meters in 9.8 seconds. But a Cc no. 2 most men can handle, but not everyone will reach a 2.5 because they can't do it genetically or want to put in four to five years of training to get there. By the way Martin has done 30 reps on a Cc no 3 😃

Try choke closing your 3
If you help close it with the other hand, won't it be the same as shoke closing it? haven't really understood what choke it's supposed to be good for? Close it with your other hand and try to keep it closed as long as you can!
@GripperCc lol yeah I don't get it either. But I don't really understand negatives as well because if even if you hold it closed you still lack the crushing strength to get it closed.
@@beefcakesfat2310 I think it's good to load with negative training sometimes to shock the muscle and get it used to higher loads. But there are those who never drive negatively and have gone all the way to No. 4. Regardless, you must be well trained to cope with the overload that will occur. Know it was effective in the bench press to scoop up a lot of weight and just hold the weight and lower it slowly and then get help with it. But most of the training I believe in full reps and like running fives to eights. If you run super heavy negatives, more rest is required to heal. Sometimes I have noticed 3X3 on full reps is enough and sometimes I do 5X1 and 3X3 and finish with 2X8 on as heavy as I can handle. Have had my absolute strongest sessions the day after I ran 3X3 and don't know why? In the same way, if you had a bad day and were powerless but drove through the session but slightly lighter and tried again the next day, you can activate the V8 engine and you can drive a really heavy session. But I think the difficult thing is to rest enough because it's fun with the gripper and you usually drive too much.
@GripperCc yeah I guess negatives does make some sense if you can hold it closed for a few seconds or whatever otherwise its too dangerous. But I stay away from them so far. To me the thing that makes the most sense is training beyond the range of motion, so filed grippers, even though I don't do that yet either because haven't hit a plateau, and changing it up to find ways to shock the muscles as you said. Interesting some of ur strongest days have been the day after. I run back to back sessions sometimes for the shocking principal factor but I always feel weaker
Very strong

Looks too easy for you 🙄 quick question again 😁about filing grippers.I have heavy grips 250 which I can close for about 20 reps.Could it be good idea to file it to increase it's difficulty or not worth? 🤔

Very impressive 💪 btw what are your thoughts on negative holds?Recently i was able to close heavy grips 300 and my goal gripper is coc 3.Whenever I do negatives with coc3 it feels like my recovery takes forever... Do you recommend doing negatives for the fastest strength gains or not necessary? 🤔
No I recommend doing choke closes instead look on my channel for videos of choke closes also make sure you get volume in with light grippers. So a workout I could give really quick is do 5 sets of 5 to 2 reps with a gripper that is 75 to 85% of your max then after that do choke closes on a coc 3
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 thanks man, will check more about choke close technique.Heard about it,but never tried my self.Totally make sense to train that way
@@savagearmsarmwrestling8385 sorry one more question, when you choke your work gripper do you leave choker on all the time or remove it after every training session?I m planing to put choker on my coc3,but,if i leave it on all the time wont it loosen up the spring over time? 🤔
@@Latvian1984 you can ask as many questions as you want that’s why I made the channel, I think if it’s choked down to like parallel it could weaken the gripper, I have one of mine choked right now but I would prefer to take it off every session, mine are a hose clamp and i just take my impact drill and quickly take the clamp off and on

What does that being rigged on do
It’s basically just a training method for grippers, you take a gripper that you can’t close and you put the clamp on it at 20mm then when you can close it open the clamp to 25mm then 30mm and by then you should be able to close the gripper without the clamp

How much time does it take to close a 3 gripper
Like how many pounds of pressure or how long does it take? A 3 has a range between 136-160lbs depending on different factors, if you are super genetically gifted I would say it would take maybe 6 months to close a average 3 148lbs if your the average person it might take many many years if it’s even possible at all. Hopefully that answers your question thank you for your comment
I’m a lot dyslexic and miss understood lol like I said in the other comment I would say even the most genetically gifted people it would still take a good 6 months to close the average 3. Most people will never get strong enough to close it unfortunately. If you can close a 2.5 I think with years of training a 3 is doable but if you’re training for a long time and your closing a 2 the 3 is probably out of reach. Closing a 3 is probably equivalent to a 405 bench press
It took me a year to close a heavy No. 2 but it's like a lighter 2.5 but I think my limit is reached at 2.5 and as you write most don't come close to a No. 3 and only a few can handle a 2 .5 regardless of training. Most people can do a number 2, but then you have to have genetic conditions and one of them is big hands! If you have small hands, you will probably never get over a 2.5!
@@GripperCc don’t give up, I was really bad at armwrestling when I started and I slowly got to the level I am now. With grippers it took me 2 years to close a 3 I think it took me gaining some weight and putting some size in my arms. The goal is no. 3, but we'll see, I'll keep going twice a week and drive like it's smoking and getting stronger all the time, so maybe one day I'll close an easy no. 3
