Cam Adjuster bolt 2006 Audi A4 2.0 turbo
This bolt is tricky to get off. Take an extra time to take it off other was you will have to take the cam off the car to take this bolt off. Lots of guys posted online for it. You can this special tool on eBay or amazon. Audi dealer in my town did not sell these tools.

Common coolant leak 2005-2008 Audi A4 2.0 turbo B7
มุมมอง 98K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a common leak area for this engine. What I have found out from researching that this problem happens when the cam chain housing starts to leak oil effecting the o-ring on this flange and causing the coolant to leak. In the video I kept saying “the rubber “ I meant to say the o-ring.

    That bolt and socket design are trash, and a poor choice on using it for that location. A hex head or triple square would have been a far superior choice for Audi/VW. The torque to install it is only 15ftlb/20.3 Nm, which would not strip it. But it is a stretch type single use bolt which probably expands once heated by the engine which tightens it more.

    Not sure if this would help anyone or not but these are the part numbers that are for the one I am working on (2008 Audi A4 Quattro Base) From what I am seeing with my leak it appears to be the temp sensor but I wanted to know what I was needing beforehand so it is not torn apart too long. The part number for the flange is (06B 121 132 D). I just bought one for my 2005 TDi Diesel. Should be the same. Now the O-ring for the flange to heater core hose is virtually impossible to find, but I know it's the same as the O-ring for the coolant temperature sensor. Since I'm changing the sensor, I'll try to see if the old O-ring isn't too bad. Nightmare to find the damn O-ring.

      I am not going to buy another Audi or a BMW after selling this one. I found them to cause lots of work and money to keep them up. Parts break down often, lots of plastic parts in and around engine, special tools needed to work on them, parts cost is high. After all, it’s not worth it. Unless you enjoy working on them.

    Heat the head of the adjuster bolt with a oxy/acetylene torch just a bit to relieve the tension, the bolt will loosen MUCH easier. No drilling required. Always replace the bolt.

    • @TREBRON82
      @TREBRON82 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks very alike but it is a slightly different design done by VW/Audi. This is why people are damaging the bolt and then have issues to get it out. No issues with OEM Socket - can be found on eBay as the dealer wouldn't sell it to a private person.

    • @YOARTHFU
      @YOARTHFU 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Polydrive and Ribe are not the same. Splines in the Ribe are thicker and taper toward the outside. If you were to attempt a 10mm Ribe on this cam adjuster, the splines will not fit and you’ll end up damaging the head bolts or cam bolt.
