Kinda crazy that they were licensed to be played on PC, when there wasn't an official port of those games to PC for more than a decade later.

I'm 33 and faced this guy for the 1st time a few weeks ago. As a kid I wouldve been traumatized, as an adult I felt like I was playing a horror game.

I FINALLY found out what happened to this game thanks to the Escape From forums as they did an interview with Mike Kennedy, the game director, who also created the Dead to Rights games. -He and a producer named Andre Emerson were big fans of the Escape films. They contacted John Carpenter and Debra Hill and they were completely on board. -This game used the original and scrapped Dead to Rights 2 engine before Widescreen Games worked on it. -It was set after Escape from LA. Many of the films characters were coming back along with new characters made for the game. -Kurt Russell gave his likeness but not his voice as he dropped out of the games production. -The main reason why this game never came to be was because of complete corporate restructuring within Namco Hometek and it killed the games development. The pre-production demo is as far as it got. -John Carpenter, Debra Hill and Kurt Russell were all very supportive of the game. They gave TONS of input into it. -A supposed pitch video done by Mike himself is in his possession but can't share it because of legal problems. -This was going to be a FRANCHISE!

Although I don't think it would be nearly as terrifying, Insomniac has the chance to use this villain again in their third Spider-Man game. Plotwise it is perfectably reasonable.

I would never recognize Leon as the first belmont, nor the timeline iga made, only including games he worked with?, biased much?... anyway, as they said, if the game companies don't feel like making games, it's up to the fans to do so, and good thing I learned 3d modelling on time, maybe i should start to work on getting castlevania resurrection back from the dead, now if only I knew of a game making program not related to unity. neat video anyway, but the fans will not like Castlevania legends, because it has a timer, when the stages are as long as Rondo of blood ones, not the best game design.

I dont think theyd be able to replicate the way monster ock was back then. There is something about the graphics that makes him more terrifying, he looks like a skinned beast with robot legs, modern graphics would make him more goopy like actual symbiotes, and the way his eyes look small as opposed to other symbiots big white eyes. The old comic book style the whole game is in, and the fact doc oc himself is buff, makes Monster ock even more imposing than carnage or venom. The dated janky controls adds to the fear since ock has a solid chance at catching up. And the bar showing how close he is also adds to the fear since throughout the game its been used to show how close you are to something else, now its being used to show how close something is to you. With the way modern graphics are im too worried a remade monster ock chase would feel like a cutscene. In other words, i dont think they have the balls to make it hard to beat like it was in the original. And no way they have the balls to show what happens if he catches you. With how smooth modern controls are, how hyper-realistic modern graphics are, and how risk averse modern gaming companies are, they would never be able to make something that feels the same way this does.

i played the final level of this game for the very first time back in 2019 (took me about three years of intermittent playing to beat that venom chasing stage). I was 16 years old back then but escaping monster ock was just as heart-racing and exciting in 2019 as it likely was for any kid playing this for the first time back in 2000. It's just a testament to how well-designed both monster ock himself and his stage are. Neversoft's Spider-Man as a whole is a certified classic.

It should be noted that Skyworks Technologies handled many of the games on Postopia as they had on Candystand, a Web site that promoted Life Savers and similar candy brands also owned by Kraft Foods (via Nabisco).
