Awesome job on fixing it up ! Those GMC motor homes where awesome! Definitely unique! 1978 was the last yr for them .
Best presentation ever!
Thank you for not going with fugly gray everything
Nice job on the interior update and keeping a small patch of the original materials and colours is brilliant. A surf board mounted to the exterior side wouldn't look out of place.
Super....super....
Beautiful
👍✌✌✌
Definitely a model worthy of such an upgrade! Great bones on that girl! You did a marvelous job! Happy travels!
Beautiful machine. The old GMC Motorhomes were the best looking RV I ever saw. Gorgeous machines.
Very nice! I think you'll like this: th-cam.com/video/NWdCtwJm6nA/w-d-xo.html
Very nicely done.
Great bones, perfect fit in driveway
Very nice work, and your originality shines thru. You get it when it comes to travel in REAL style. The enthusiasts envy you
Great Work, very professional. Kudos1
Went to Joseph Joseph and got the silverware tray in three minutes! For my 1976 GMC. And then I went to eBay to get a brand-new Glacier Bay 883 432 faucet. Lucid mattress next!
Looks absolutely beautiful! Loving it!
Wow it's a beauty.i want to sale mine in north fla.
You did a WONDERFUL job of the tour, the customizing, the efficiency - and I'm sorry your husband uses your passenger seat as a foot rest:) 1st of your series I've watched. Will NOT be the last. I would have liked to have known the basic cost before refurbish/customization, then the total at time of this tour. Though, I REALLY appreciate the naming your sourcing for accoutrements. (Oh, would like to know solar, too.) 35 years, Lucky man. Tell him to get his feet in order, or else! :) *Oh, you did mention wireless for boonies:) TV is satellite, I presume? And internet? How spotty, and/or where spotty? Some wireless dongle plan, or cell phone hotspot? Thanks! That was GREAT! *Apologies, if/probably many of those answers in other of your vids. REALLY good job, all around. Cheers!
DOH! Never mind my questions. I found your blog: ournewneighborhood.blog/ (The link you have below in the comments is broken, btw.) Simply GOLD. Starting from before the buy, the trials & errors, all of it. What a joy. (Here, btw, as I've been keeping a file and dream; which look to be near following suit. ) Thanks, again! *Btw, I've stumbled on a few other sites & resources over last couple years. Yours is very special.
@@AlexSack I will see if I can figure out how to fix the link! Thanks. And thank you for your kind words!
@@ournewneighborhood581 Thank YOU for the wonderful rsource; an obvious labor of love. I've had a file on this dream for about 2 years, and am close to pulling the trigger. I can't imagine after all the due diligence you & your husband put into this, that you were ready to & did pull the trigger in the spring of 2020! Sad, but kinda of funny. Will go back and red more on how you handled it, later. I'm a lifelong drummer, music major and thinker, who will be hoping to get in with a traveling gypsy community - for safety, education & inspiration. As I plan the back room to be a small studio where i could teach, in addition to odd jobs, busking, gigs and a Java certification - security will be a big conconsideration - when out biking for groceries, etc. You may have addressed that, and I have yet to get to those tips/considerations. But, in case not, please post some tips on securing your GMC, and viz towing, ticketing, late nigt police inspections/rights, etc. I was a cab driver in SF for 9 years, and was pretty privy to whereour homeless & drug addled communities parked (mainly on the indistrial outskirts of town; and their experience with police & neighbor complaints. (Which I think have been dialed back during CoV; complete with sanctioned & serviced encampments, visible on public lands. Though, that is sure to ened sooner than later. Many, many thanks for the gold you and your husband have provided on your blog. Cheers, @
I love the look outside on the Eleganzas, but the inside looks really cramped.
If you look @ at other GMC MHs, they don't seem so cramped. (Though, relative/in eye of beholder, etc.) The GMCs are considered roomier feeling, & actually, as no drive train/a lower floor -hence, center of gravity. And roomier rep also much to do with airplane fuselage shape & large/lotsa windows -bringing in light, etc. (Not sure this video quite captured those aspects. Was great on upgrades/customizations orientation, though IMO.)
So enjoyed that transformation. I just cannot for the life of me imagine putting my backside on those puce seats. No, never. You did such a good job of rebuilding your Coach. I love the new look.
Man these Motorhomes are so nice. One of the Best Rvs ive ever seen.Just way Awesome. You guys did a great Job..😃
Why can't you just run the urine through a filter and use the filtered urine water for the toilet ?
Looks beautiful really ,really nice ,hope you have some good vacations in it
Nice work. What side mirrors did you use?
The mirrors are Velvac, we found them on Ebay. And... thank you! We write in a little more detail on our blog ournewneighborhood.blog/2019/04/17/mirror-mirror-on-the-door/
hey thats me!!
This is one of the best thought out RVs ever built. You two did a fantastic job on it. Another guy on You tube replaced the big Olds engine with a Diesel out of a Hum Vee and expects to get around 20 MPG on the Highway. That would be nice. Defiantly big enough for 2 people. Especially if you get a nice awning and have it set up to spend a lot of time outside on the good days. I wish I was that lucky. God bless you on your journeys.
I'd love to find a GMC MH if I could get a decent one for a good price & not an overly inflated "Vintage" tag. Great job on your rebuild.
Thanks for the walk through. Very nice. I have a 1978 GMC 26 Foot almost just like yours. I've put a lot into it, but need to sell. If you know someone that would like to have one please leave me a comment. I will comment back giving details. Thank you again for the walk through.
Look for Bill Massey on GMC sites on Facebook. He keeps a master list of all gmc vin#'s and may have resources for you.
@@ournewneighborhood581 Thank you. Your reply is appreciated.
Great video. Nice restoration. Fun build I am sure. Some great ideas as I look for a GMC motorhome to buy and restore
Very nice. The TV elevator at the end ... sweet!
What did you use for your headliner?
Cool!
What airbags and bracket system was used here? Cheers
Thanks for watching the video. Here is a link to the blog post I wrote about the process wordpress.com/post/ournewneighborhood.blog/988 and there is a lot of information and links to ordering parts here: www.gmcmotorhomemarketplace.com/sully/
Thanks, looking into the sully brackets :)
You’ve done a heack of a job remodeing that rv ! & making it your own ! It looks very cozy on the inside ! I’m impressed !

Beautiful, y'all have done a great job!
Great channel! Keep up the good work. If you have a second go have a browse of my page 😎 ✌️
Looks great. I am updating a 2003 Winnebago, not as much work as you have done. subbed for updates.
My husband and I, just got a gmc motorhome gave to us! We are so excited to strip it down an get started on the rebuild. You gave me such great insight. You've done a beautiful job. I hope we can do half as good as you have done!
i like =)
btw - Great JOB. and U can fix just about Anything with Duct Tape. But don't forget the mechanics wire !
Have U tried to use Ur kitchen faucet out the window for an outdoor shower, for rinsing off or just cooling down?
The kitchen and door windows don't open. However we did install a hose with shower head outside for that very reason.
Great job ! Thank you for sharing !
How is the RV? Still drving it.
Can you tell me where you get the parts please
Various places - depending on what was needed. Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist, auto parts stores..... what parts in particular are you asking about?
Our New Neighborhood the front, right side wheel hub and barring Thanks for responding
@@elijahsaenz9699 Check out our blog - we tried to be pretty thorough on everything we did. wordpress.com/post/ournewneighborhood.blog/1266
Saw at you at Embracing Detours . Love you GMC. I do abandoned RV videos and I did one like this. The quality in this is the best. Does it have air ride? Love the rounded features in it. We have some videos you would like check us out
Great work!
Amazing old design from outside, it has strange sort of attraction towards eyes not in modern design ... Keep up
