Everything you are saying is great advice from a PR point of view, but the reality of the matter is that these business will not act in an ethical way. They will make it appear as if they are making advancements to act more ethically, but they really won't. Take it from someone that has worked in ethical fashion and spoken to heavy hitters in the industry, and owns her own ethical fashion brand. The majority of their manufacturing is outsourced, this washes their hands of any responsibility. The same can be said for the majority of major retailers. For decades The Gap, Levi's and countless others have said they have implemented "steps" that help them be more accountable and ensure their goods are being manufactured in an ethical way. But there is no one governing them or holding them accountable. Non of them really change! Maybe they will be better at hiding the truth and greenwashing for consumers, but the reality is they won't change.
