what is the nut that holds the tip in place called? I appreciate the advice on using flat tips over reversa tips but more explanation of what the parts are called would be helpful. I found the flat tips, the flat tip housing and the filters but need the nut that holds the tip in place

Since this is lacquer base, will there be any compatibility issues with Clear coat and base coat system? Do we need epoxy primer over it before base coat is applied? How does this compare to a urethane 2k primer? I have a lip kit for my car I am looking to get re-done, but concerned that the primer will not hold up and there will be compatibility issue to my urethane top coats.

On the Lamb's wool or even a 50/50 synthetic natural blend sleeve charge it up in water first then spin it out if you even have a roller spinner if not you know get creative with a wall or something it expands the fibers in the nap and holds more pain than delivers a better job.

As a homeowner learning how to paint, my main mistake when rolling used to be leaving too much on the wall and it would sag and look like ice cream. Eventually I realized if I backroll such that the roller made a hissing sound, it would take excess paint off the wall and give me a very light coat. Painting my own house, I'm OK if it takes 2-3 coats. I'd rather do another coat then have to sand down an overly thick coat. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to roll just the right amount of paint without hissing, but I'm not there yet and maybe never will figure that out.

Obviously paint is gonna come off eventually. That's just part of life. The wood will rot eventually, too. How long would you give soffit and eaves painted with basic cheap Zinser primer and then with the Behr opaque "stain." I have at least 50, if not 80% peeling paint on the shed I'm painting, and those are the products I chose. Do I need to go all the way back to wood, or just peel the junk off and plan on another fun summer day with the Ole paint roller in 5 years? Will I get more years out of stripping it down with the heat gun?

I have a Graco X5. The same pump as this Vevor. I cannot believe how long it has lasted me. I kid you not I've done atleast 20 full exteriors. Stained an insane amount of fences for a bunch of duplexes back to back. Painted several boat docks, I've even sprayed several sets of cabinets, the entire exterior and interior of my personal house. It is still working like a charm. I truly can't believe it. I also run 75 ft of hose on it which the guy at Sherwin who sold it to me said was too much hose lol.

It's marketing thing, distinguishing a dedicated cutting product, it's a top seller in home Depot here and Amazon too, so they were successful marketing to the DIYer, not some one in the trade. Is it better, you can hold a regular brush the same way, the next lowest common denominator is the bristles themselves, which is down to manufacture. My curiosity got ticking and thinking about myself, the target audience, I spent most of my life using cheaper brushes, therefore be impressed. Some team out there sat down and thought the entire timeline through 🫡

Those two red cans are Chinese garbage. The welded seams are not recessed and protected and the spot welds on the handles will not hold up.

i just used Benjamin Moore here in the Phoenix area and the customer service was A1 and the paint covered and went on with ease and looks better than any other paint I’ve ever used and looks stunning ! i really love your videos !

Is there any recommendation for filling in holes on fascia boards prior to priming and paint? Is there such a thing as exterior filler or spackle?

I recently cut about 800 square ft of walls with a corona 3 inch straight wall brush in a reno situation. In theory the bigger wall brush holds more paint, so you can move quicker, but you also need a quality bristle to get into the inside corner.

The best cans are Wavian/Valpro from Latvia or Gelg from Poland the have a "V" or a "G" stamped on the side. A quality can will last for a lifetime. I have a original Wehrmacht can stamped 1940 for my Volkswagen Beetle. The rubber seals should be changed if they get hard.

Have you seen a demo of the Graco XT series machines? Graco claims that with the new pressure control on the XT combined with the Quick Shot gun it eliminates over spray.

Id be alot more impressed if he could do that with 200 hours on it and the corresponding paint rainbow attached. Still, some good ideas there.
