I have a 65 mustang and the previous owner had shelby stripes put on it. Unknown to me when I purchased it, his buddy had used billboard vinyl for the stripes. When I pulled off the stripes it took the paint with it. Required a total repaint. Learned almost 20 years ago…don’t use vinyl on anything you care about.
For a beginner diy would this be good to paint cabinet doors ?
I think thats the first time ive seen u use extension poles.
80 grit first then 100 lot less work
@@howardfierke8381 probably a good idea but the 80 seemed to work pretty good
Belt sander ? It will knock that down . Won't work well with fresher wrap .
@@howardfierke8381 it just smears it. Then makes it even harder to remove. Plus you end up with all the glue. Best way is the razor blade. The steamer for the thick stuff and if it's a better quality wrap, the steamer should remove it pretty easily, but you'll still have all that glue to contend with
What size is this ladder? Thanks
I'm no professional builder... but my cousin is... he's a developer/general contractor. I've worked with him on several builds when deadlines were impossible and he needed general laborers. Mike the painter seems like a good guy... a thinker, a problem solver. But I'm going to respectfully disagree. That roof sheathing is OSB. It's glue-pressed and porous. It will seriously delaminate and wick condensation with anything in contact with the surface between the rafters. It's designed to work with a vented roof. Air must move from the eves to the roof peak over the surfaces of it. The material Mike chose is good stuff. Reasonably affordable, built in vapor barrier, and a decent R-value for it's weight. A better option would be to fasten the foam boards to the garage-floor-facing surface of the rafters. This would preserve the air-space/air-movement and not sweat your roof sheathing to mold/warp oblivion.
Looks good. Wraps are great but should never be left on until they fail like the one you had. A good quality wrap will remove easily without damage. Painting lettering is great for “old school” artistic look. Good luck.
@@allendempsey9551 yeah after this I don't think I'd ever wrap anything. Even a good quality wrap. You're going to have to do it several times over 10-year . And every time you have to remove it
You won't have a single chance to build your TH-cam channel because you talk too much for the little bit of relevant information that people need to know. Get to the point in short your videos.
Que the Tubes song!! She’s a beauty.
What a transformation! I used to work as a heavy diesel mechanic at a dealership, and had to redo a lot of decals on equipment that had been traded in. I always used a heat gun to help remove them, I never even thought about a steamer! Good job and thanks for the info on the steamer, wish I had known 5 years ago lol!
G'day Mike, First time on this channel. I never knew you had more channels. Anyway, that trailer looks the business. Q. How many litres did you go through. So thanks for sharing the knowledge man ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
2 gallons of water base DTM alkyd paint. Pretty neat stuff.
The seals suck it leaks
There’s a product called Morflex that’s a chaulking with sand in it that does a great job of filling hairline cracks . The sand it helps hide the chaulking and help it blend in to its stucco surroundings .
Watch his short video version.
drop cloths would be nice on roof or dose the rain take care of it just kidding he he he he
Talks too fucking much
thanks for the advice, really good vid. I bought this unit to do my house so much appreciate you sharing your experience in this area.
Trumper
Look's like a decent unit for DYI at a good price point. I looking at using stain to my cottage which is pine / board & batten
I bought one but when i went to fill using it the fuel is guzzlig. Out of the nozzle connection. Gonna try to make a custom rubber fitting today in the hopes that they just have a crappy seal. Feels well made otherwise i really hope its not a leaky weld
Try a heat gun.
Lots of work to take off that wrap, nice your so patient to be able to do it. Nice tip on the air freshener to remove the glue.
Good review. I need one. Where to buy them and how much. Do they have different sizes? Do they fall to your ankles after a few hours? Do the back of knee hurts with the strap?
The factory is in Huntington beach....they have them at Vista paint. They do not fall off.....they are the best ones I have ever used. I dont remember how much they cost. but it was worth every penny
You should re-new the wrap b4 it gets that bad right?
You should remove it and replace it every few years it ends up costing quite a bit of money to have a wrap cheaper to paint it with the old sign paint
Well, you’re not supposed to leave them on for 10+ years… the new ones you can, but not the old ones… your better off with a sander at that point
scrape it off then remove the glue. sand and paint the whole trailer. Cost more than a new one.
I once saw here in San Diego CA a crew of 5 painters spraying a 3 story house. They spray the stucco first, then they mask the whole wall the 3 story wall just to do the pop-outs and eaves. That was the stupidest thing I ever seen 😂😂
If you cant do it with 12 inch paper.....your not a painter.....Ha ha. LOL. that is funny.
If you have a couple guys that's the best way 🙌 Nice work 💪
Can you use it fok 2k Prime
I will be joining the IUPAT DC 46 Union in Toronto as a commercial painter apprentice once they open up for 2025. Can anyone tell me if it’s really that physical? I’m thinking of also opening my own business and doing small jobs on the side until I get better.
It is pretty physical but not nearly as bad as most other trades. you should be fine. Find bedrooms that need some paint. Pretty competitive in To ON. Color your world has some good paint.....They may have changed to dulux. I dont recally havnt been there in a few years.
I'm a Tritech Dealer and service center. Awesome machines but this video is wrong in suggesting you only have to hand tighten the inlet valve and upper packing nut. They both must be fully tightened with a wrench as per the manual. I have also sold and serviced Graco and Titan for 30+ years. Tritech, in my opinion, is the best built machine out there currently. No gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors, just solid construction that is easy to service.
Im a diesel mechanic in bush ak. The stuff i work on is big and heavy ive hired apprentaces the best one i had was a young lady who really wanted to learn she made some lifestyle changes and got killed in a car accedent but since i have hired some other boys to work as tool chasers and help out theyv seem content to run back and forth getting tools but never want to learn how to use them they just want to get back to their video games at the end of the day
100 % I found the more richer the people the more cheap asses they are. and some are picky. at least with normal customers most pay straight away
I just sling my caulk gun above me on an extension leg and grab it and use it whenever i need
Yup i work for a company we get so many services calls and it end up being sticky paint😂
Dont listen to clowns
You are telling me you make $5000 a day painting by yourself? Thats $100,000 a month if you work 5 days a week 4 weeks a month. Forgive me if that seems a little cray cray.
Thanks brother, you saved my marriage
i love my OLD gas cans look just like (except cleaner) that one all the way to the right in your video. never had a leakier.i even redid a cap to use air pressure to push all the fuel into my tank. not a problem as i would be doing something else (like have a trail lunch) while it did its job.
top video. its made me decide to go for 2 stage!, thank you
hi mike, i noticed my stucco also has these cracks around windows. you see a lot of horror stories about this being a foundation issue. at what point would i be able to do this versus having to get a structural engineer out to check out the situation?
Cheap Airless spray rig that works LINK NO LONGER WORKING WHAT WAS IT EXACTLY ?
Is there a working wood stripper that you can recommend that isn’t regulated to the extreme? I’m working on refinishing an old executive desk finished with polyurethane. The desktop is covered with veneer so I’d rather not sand it.
Leaky. Really not well made
Does this atomize better then the Graco battery hand held gun? Spray a smoother finish? Graco handheld gun makes the finish uneven, heavy, and always leaks air, to make you stop to squeeze the liner, to continue spraying! It sucks!
im not sure on that....I plan on buying one of these as soon as things get busier.
Friendly Tip! I never primed a garage door. Remove chalk with T>S>P>. Rinse well. A sanding sponge 220 grit. 6'' fabric whiz roller and a 2 1/2 Gooseneck paint brush. SATIN paint. Always keep a wet edge. I would not mentioned the word OIL. The Gooseneck Guy! Cheers!
I really wanted to see how to pour this can without leaking!
Same !
Thank you so much for this video.
Cement is better than paint. And it's cheaper. A fog coat is just color mixed with a little Portland cement. It binds to the existing cementitious substrate. It's superior to paint because it will never flake off of get "old". It's used for two primary purposes on a stucco exterior. 1) It's used a couple of weeks after a new color coat is applied to even out any blotchiness from the color mixing process and 2) it's used to restore or freshen up an older stucco surface which can have staining from dirt or mud over the years. Especially the lower portion of the house which gets a lot of splashup from rain and such.
Ive run T7 for 2 years absolute amazing. Used to use Graco and Airlessco. Loved them both but nothing is like a Tritech. Wont but anything else its that good. T3 on delivery in a few days. 30 lbs are you kidding 😮
