Hiking off track in Australia can be brutal.. This mountain was no exception.
Very few people have hiked up this mountain and even less have loaded up with overnight gear and camped up here. 10 hours, with 25kg on the back, pushing through very dense scrub, in the harsh Northern Australian sun.. This was no easy accomplishmeant and definitely not for the faint of heart.
We hadn't seen any photos from up here before so there were many times we questioned if it would even be worth it. We kept pushing on and the hard yards definitely paid off. The views were EPIC and the serenity was as pure as it gets. I might even do it again next year 🤷♂️

I reckon this has to be one of the most unique mountain top views in all of Australia. The way all the creek systems and mountain ranges align and create such a picture perfect frame for a photo.. This is by far one of the most inaccessible waterfalls we've made it to so far! Which is why it made it one of the most rewarding ones too.. Definitely one of the more wilder missions we done and this waterfall was so sick!! Out of all the 'secret' waterfalls I've been to this one definitely makes the top 3! Ripper video mate, one of the better ones I've seen for a campervan trip. Really well put together. We're doing a similar trip in a few weeks. Did you guys mostly do free camping sites? Unsure how often you need to plug into a powered site with these vans. Thanks mate
Your photography and videography is amazing but I cringe (I hate that I have to use that word) every time you say that you are by yourself. It comes off a bit pretentiousness we are all tourist wanting to enjoy the land.

If it is, would you mind sharing your workflow for taking such a shot? Would love to know what’s the most efficient way to do it,Thank you so much!

Sincerely appreciate that! haha yeah that is our van in all them shots and there was no easy way of capturing it, it was a lot of work 😂 Basically just had to find little spots to pull over then re-drive that section while I filmed it. The hardest part was finding turn around spots in the tighter sections

What time of year did you travel mate? You mentioned the cold a fair bit - planning a trip myself at the moment so would be great to know the better times to travel :)
This was in June. I'd definitely recommend the winter time! Weather was absolutely mint this time of year, barely seen a cloud for the entire 10 days!

Funny how vloggers would say they are living in the moment when in fact they are so caught up on creating a content. 😂 If you are living in the moment you won't have a content to show because you won't have time to capture everything on camera, you are just caught up in the "moment", right? 😂😂😂

Well done. I really enjoyed watching that. If you ever do go back, and especially to Mt Cook, there's a hike I think you'd really enjoy. You have to book it in advance, but it's cheap & that's up to the Mueller Hut.
Definitely will be going back to NZ!! That hike is definitely on the list along with manyyyyy others!

Amazing video 👌 we're planning a very similar trip ourselves. Would you recommend the van? We were wondering where you used the toilet and shower? Is it easy enough to find places along the road? Thanks!
Thank you! Yeah the Apollo van was good. Plenty of campgrounds along the way and public toilets. We stayed in powered sites every couple of nights to recharge everything. You will have to book the popular caravan parks in advance though, we didn't and almost all of them were fully booked out in the popular places like exmouth and coral bay.
