Finnegan's Wake with Possibly Irish
มุมมอง 1Kปีที่แล้ว
Finnegan's Wake is an traditional Irish-American comic ballad, first published in New York in 1864. Raucous and irreverent, this is the story of hod carrier Tim Finnegan . This performance was filmed during Possibly Irish's performance for the DNACA concert series at the Tolowa event center in California. We just put our camera on a tripod and left it running during the performance. We had so m...

Rattlin' Bog with Possibly Irish
มุมมอง 2.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Devin Desmond sings lead on the traditional Irish folk song Rattlin' Bog. This is Possibly Irish's first venture into green screen recording. Orlando Sanchez (Romulo), our videographer, had to teach himself from the ground up how to do this. When looking for art, the band's fiddle player and featured singer on this video said, "My sister could do it." We are in love with the results and hope yo...

We Wish You A Merry Christmas with Possibly Irish
มุมมอง 1.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
"We Wish You A Merry Christmas" is an English folk song and came from a time when poor carolers would hit up wealthy listeners for handouts. The carol was likely sung by "mummers" - i.e. children who would go about singing from door to door to request gifts. We actually prepared our versions of We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Deck The Halls for an HGTV holiday show to be filming in Salem with...
Deck The Halls with Possibly Irish

Here is our version of Deck the Halls for you to listen to while decorating for the holidays. We actually prepared this and another song for an HGTV holiday show to be filming in Salem with us as carolers. The filming got cancelled but the up side was that we had a couple of carols ready to share with you. "Deck the Halls" (originally titled "Deck the Hall") is a traditional Christmas carol. Th...

Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for letting me jam with you today at the park. I think your music is wonderful! Keep up the great work. Here's a link to my TH-cam channel. I live in St George, Utah. Most of my videos are either gospel or bluegrass/old western genres but there are some show tunes and some Celtic music mixed in there too. I wish you all the best! th-cam.com/play/PLW8pcqgSdbV8UaDrbTkhTvefcvI_BPZyd.html&si=Fc6u9mJPAE-5x0Bx
I see a hammer dulcimer! Wow! After a the end of a Loreena McKennitt concert back around 2007; several of her band members let my wife and I have a close-up look at several of the instruments on stage. One, being the hammer dulcimer. Besides that, I have never heard a rendition quite like this one; with several songs being sang at once. I am glad that you guys sang "What Child is This" instead of that stupid other version called "Greensleeves." I am glad that you guys honored "Christ" and "Our Lady, Queen of Peace" with this song. Thankyou!
It is strange to hear this sung with a very American(U.S.) accent. I'm from the states and don't think I can sing it without turning on my Irish accent. Nope, just tried I can't. My father is from Ireland and we learned this song with real Irish recordings.
Dang i was a couple months late. Arrived there in late may for vacation and to see my grandma.
We're not locked into the 19th century and we don't all wear a flat cap. Its not my favourite version of this song but its not bad, a little too upbeat for me. Maith sibh.
My Irish De La Salle teachers introduced me to Irish music and ballads. I will appreciate these melodies all my life.
