Could you use a Glock 23 slide on this lower if you change to a 23 ejector?

Shouldn't be any design differences in a clone using expired patents. At least for the mags.

I disagree with your opinion that this isn't Ruger's problem to fix. If they said it was designed to work with the provided GL9 mags only, sure, and then anything else that works is a bonus. They didn't. Instead they say, "the RXM is designed to use 9mm magazines compatible with compact or larger double-stack Glock pistols, including Magpul GL9 magazines." Make a claim like that, you need to follow through. Fantastic information in your video. I appreciate your detailed analysis and the offered solution.

The p mags weren’t originally made to work in a ruger they were made to work in a Glock. Then ruger made a Glock and put magpuls Glock mags in it

You are a smart dude you figured out both my ruger rxm issues. With mag pull mags occasionally after last round my slide would not stay open. Not a huge deal but not right. Bigger problem with gen 3 glock mags i was getting slide lock holding open slide after firing a few rounds occasionaly. That made me not feel gun is reliable . I don't want gun to stop shooting and lock open !!!!!!!!!!!!! So i saw video but glock 3 mags needing some modification. Now i agree that a gen 3 spring would work better to make slide stay open after last round. Question if i take stock ruger spring and bend it to fit flush will that help or just change spring to glock gen 3 spring ? Where do you buy the gen 3 spring ???

So the RXM still maintains the same exact trigger/striker safeties that exist within Glocks?

People want this gun to be so better than glock, but dont trust the factory magazines that come with the firearm.. I have a question??? Does everyone realize that glock magazines are the aftermarket magazines for this pistol?? If it was the other way around, would everyone trust magpul magazines in there glock 19????

I see your point about aftermarket slides potentially affecting sear engagement, as I’ve had to modify cruciforms in the past to make my P80 builds drop-safe. However, I don’t see how aftermarket/out-of-spec grip modules would affect sear engagement, since any slop in the slide would is limited to the amount of slop in the rails. Considering the rails are part of the FCI, I would think sear engagement wouldn’t be affected even if an out-of-spec grip module were installed. What is your take on this?

Fast forward to 7:00 and if you own an RXM just buy the Magpul mags and mark them after buying in bulk..

I recommend when using a non recessed screw down card holder that first you put your card in a penny sleeve first then put the card that is in the penny sleeve into the non recessed card holder while it is in the penny sleeve so card is not touching the case as the penny sleeve is touching the case and not the card itself touching case👍

Magpul P mags were not made for the RXM, they were made for Glocks. RXM was made to use P mags. This is an issue with tolerance stacking, and variations between manufacturers. At least now I have a use for my P mags.

Does anyone know if you can swap out the ejector for a Glock 23 ejector? The reason I ask is because of the modular aspect of the fire control group.

I installed a OEM Glock slide stop and spring and still don’t get the same sorta snap you are getting. I did notice that the spring doesn’t really have anything to sit against on the bottom so it kinda sticks down. IIRC on a stock glock the initial curve of the spring sits against the frame so it probably has more tension.

Was there no way they could have made the FCI narrower?

Are you planning to add an optic and if you do which one will be your option?

Seems to me that a narrower slide catch (the portion that actually interfaces with the magazine follower) would solve the issue. How large is the stock RXM one compared to an oem Glock?

Maybe the Magpul mags will get better because of the RXM. I have a few of them but use them just in training.

Nice video, you really put a lot of thought into this. I curious about your rear sight. At the 23 minute mark you show the rear of the gun and there is a strip on the rear sight. Is that paint or did you change out the sights. I've always liked the Von Stavenhagen or bar/dot sights.

I swapped out mine for a gen 4 extended slide release I had from years ago and swapped out the safety plunger and put a overwatch precision trigger from my gen 4 glocks I had laying around

I believe this design is the beginning of Ruger competing against companies like Shadow Systems and Zev. I can see them working with Magpul and their custom shop on making their own line of Gucci Glocks.

I run glock mags thru mine. Had no problems.

Can't find just the spring by itself anywhere but I can get a extended release off fleabay for dirt cheap. Just bend it some to follow the piece? Or do you think Ruger might put out a fix?

Use the slide to pry up the rails. Super easy and you won’t damage anything. Hard to beat OEM Glock parts but 1200+ rounds through mine with zero failures of any kind. 5 different brands of mags, 3 different ammo weights and six different brands. RXM functions flawlessly.

Just get a real Glock 19 and don’t worry about it. Ruger handguns are and always have been trash

Great video, I've been using Gen 5 g19 mags , so far been working well. I've used a lot of different mags and only had one issue with a Cheapo $7, 32 rd ETS. FYI, I've used Pmag 15 & 17s , Oem Gen 5 19s, ets 32rd , utg 32rd , annd an extar ep9 18rd mag All good except the ETS which I have 2 one was fine , other felt a bit loose, rattled more. For $7, I can't complain. lol they run good in Extar !!
