And that is not going to change." - Tiger Woods In this week's video, JJ and Navisk8r break down a training plan. Anymore videos coming??
Stage 1,2 by now! I enjoy a lot your lessons, thank you so much, and hope to see more! Cheers!
Super nice video! I just listened that, and the tempo videos. It is exactly the content that I was looking for!
Don't you have to qualify for the rcq? You can't just sign up right?
@acemartinez7406 RCQs are open tournaments! You can check locator.wizards.com for your local area RCQ schedule. Regional Championships (RC's) are invite-only, but winning a RCQ will get you there!
Great video! Thank you!
Dude for sure!!

What is your favorite Stage in a game of magic? Let Us Know!👇
Tempo to me feel like control of the situation, if you have more resources and time then your opp. I.e countering an opponent game winning spell etc...
That's basically what you get with tempo. You stay ahead of your opponent, control the board state...
That is the "feeling" but what I think this video really does is quantify and measure the abstract concept- that way it's more than a feeling and you can make game decisions based on a calculated metric!
What do you think about the ACVMTG formula for tempo? 🤔 Comment with the next MTG Theory you'd like us to cover next! What's a concept or theory in magic that you're struggling with? Let us know!👇
hey man thank you so much for taking time and coming up with this video. I cant believe with all the busy preparations you've been doing you still find time to answer/address inquiries in the comment section. Hats off to you and this channel bruh. Been looking forward to this video, excited as well on snippets of your coaching sessions and RC. More power to you and goodluck on upcoming tourneys!
Dude, for sure!! We really appreciate your comments! We're here to get better at the game together, if our viewers are facing a problem- we likely are too! The goal of ACVMTG is to demistify the process of improving, because we are where you are
How do you train for tournaments? Tell us your favorite regimen! If you don't, tell us something that you learned from JJ's program that you can apply THIS WEEK! #alwaysimproving 👇👇
I usually do a lot of MTG Arena or Magic Online, then if im comfortable with the deck I would buy it on paper. If yer doing Tournament on paper it is a MUST to get the reps in... Like seriously, all the board triggers and permanent counters are a pain and missing one can be life or death... I really find a hard time doing reps with paper magic.. BUT... Guess what, from your vid before, I learned that we can "Proxy" cards print them and playtest... OMG OMG these helped a Ton and save so much $$$ . Again, thanks for the vids including this latest one! 👍
🙌🙌 glad some of the info is actionable!! @@kibspoker
Please do one for Tempo based decks - Mono Blue or Izzet-like, Present a threat - bounce opp creatures or protect w counter. Thank you, what an awesome channel
OMG yeah!!! im actually curious to know what TEMPO really is.. im kinda confused mid-way whether its card advantage, or board advantage, or just being like Mono Blue jerk always LOL. anyway, another well thought video - you are heaven sent 🙏
Thank you so much!!! Love the comment, and excitement. I'll definitely throw "Tempo" on the Docket
Definitely. Awesome suggestion! How'd the style of this video work for the deck explanation? If you like it, I'll do it the same way for a tempo talk!
@@alwayschooseviolencemtg Thank you so much! any video on tempo is much much much appreciated. May be some concept on presenting + protecting a threat, diff advantages (card, board, turn), i certainly dunno what im talking about LOL. but hey, excitted for your future vids. Thanks so much for all the hardwork!!
You need more subs really good content
🙏🙏🙏Thank you so much for the support! We appreciate you!
We want to hear from YOU! 👀 What's a MTG Theory or Strategy topic that you'd like to learn more about? Leave a comment, and let's grow together

Subscribed! Ey man.. this is such a Gold mine of a Channel.. Gawd thank you for sharing all these. imma go watch all yer vids, hope you continue making more vids. Thanks.
🙏🙏🙏Thank you so much!! Such an insanely nice comment, definitely motivation for more. We're just happy to add value, no one has to be on a MTG journey alone! Let us know if you have a painpoint in your gameplay- happy to learn, together!
Just found this channel. I’m here for it. Let’s go.
Heck Yeah! Appreciate the support! 🙌 Let is know if there's a MTG theory or Strategy that we can cover to help you improve!
You're making me a better person.
You're making YOU a better person
This was really helpful to learn about tiebreakers etc, thanks. Onwards to your next RCQ top 8!
Thanks so much for the comment! Yeah, we found it weird that such a seminal topic to understanding where you "stand" in the Swiss isn't really talked about.. and it's something that I found out about in the middle of the tournament 🤣 thankfully google and chat gpt helped me figure it out... hopefully this video will be useful for others to avoid that!!! Have you ever experienced some confusion around 'breakers' in a tournament?
Damn....they had it.
🤣🤣
By the way you have such a fascinating way of presenting information that regardless of not knowing what the heck was going on I stayed around and listened to the whole video
I really appreciate that!! Such a huge compliment.
What the heck are you talking about
Haha! Totally get it, the full video on my channel gives the whole story, but this is a snippet of information on decision making in a game called Magic the Gathering. My channel is all about documenting my journey in the game and helping people get better at it!
Nobody knows what u are talking about bro
I can get that. Our channel is all about the game "Magic, the Gathering"! This video is an example of a decision some players face in that game
Bro do the best
✊️
What game are you telling about? And please, be more grateful on the road!!
Talking about Magic, the Gathering!! I'm super grateful both on and off the road!
bro this short is terrible it doesnt say anything and why is the intro like half the video
Totally appreciate the feedback!! Definitely could be cut better. I think what I was going for here was to at least display the core content topic of the long form, and encourage people to check it out! But, looking at the short now- It definitely doesn't add a ton of value up front!
His audio sounds like he’s talking on a cell phone driving through a tunnel.
We'll get better! Thanks for the feedback 🫡
Good video, only suggestion is that the last section's AI model's voice and performance is cringe and uncanny.
Thanks so much for the feedback! Looking back at it now, I totally agree. I think I made a sacrifice to try and push this video out before the RCQ. After rewatching the video, I agree- it stands out in an awkward way
You are the greatest.
YOU are #strategistsforstrategy

Great podcast again. Can't wait for the next episode

We're talking about a new card that is AWESOME in the pioneer format!
Therein lies the rub: Successful =/= quality content. Good quality visuals or audio =/= good content. Some of my favorite podcasts sound like they were recorded on some toasters before they actually managed to get some money from it to upgrade. And we all know the impressive "influencers" have the best audio and visuals, but the most trash content.
So true!! This clip is from our episode where we started using a real mic over airpods. This is definitely a passion project, so we're just highlighting some fun we had while recording recognizing that it's a long road to producing good AND quality content!!! Appreciate the comment :)
Looking back on the Neon Dynasty set, they had some bangers. Fable being no exception🔥
