You may need to reset the console to its factory settings. While the console is booting up and the “X32” logo appears on the screen, press and hold the “Scenes / UNDO” button, keeping it depressed until the console is fully operational and the Home screen is displayed. The console will now be in the exact same state as it was when first shipped from the factory. However, you can immediately revert back to the status the console was in before being switched off by pressing the Scenes/UNDO button.

Yes, on the X32 Rack, by tabbing over to the XLR Out tab on the Routing screen, and selecting AES50 A1-4 and A5-8, we are telling the 8 XLR ports on the Rack to send what's coming down AES50A...in this case the outputs from the X32 Compact. So our Main outputs 7-8 from the X32 Compact are actually being sent out of ports 7-8 on the Rack.

Hey Paul, no that will not work. The X32 is 48k and the Pro1 is 96k. What we have successfully done is use an X32 with a Pro2 (or Pro1) via a Midas DL231 stage box, which is a dual headamp stage box, so you can run one head amp at 96k and the other at 48k.

Hi Halid. The screen on the X32 is not going to follow what you are doing on the tablet/laptop.

By default, 13-16 are setup as FX sends, but they are not dedicated. You can set them up to be whatever you need them to be.

Thanks! We will look into it One question on tablets and the x32. Is it possible for one person to run the main / house mix, while another person controls a bus mix with a tablet? We're looking to use a bus mix for our live stream audio and have that person control it w/ a tablet.

@@worm75 Yes, you can connect multiple tablets to the X32. One can run house mix, one can run monitors or live stream mix, and musicians on stage can control their individual mixes...al at the same time. The limiting factor will be the wireless router/access point everyone is connecting their devices to.

Ok, so for the inputs, on the routing Home tab, set Inputs 1-8 to AES50 A1-8, and Inputs 9-16 to AES50 A9-16...this is assuming you've connected the Rack and S16 via the AES A ports. This will give you the first 16 channels on the rack as coming from the S16. For column "Inputs 17-24", set to "Local 1-8". This will give you channels 17-24 that are plugged into the first 8 preamps on the X32 Rack. For outputs, navigate to the routing aes50-a tab, and set the AES50 A Outputs 9-16 column to Out 9-16. This will sent outputs 9-16 to the S16, BUT, you have to change the setting on the S16 to the second configuration option. If set correctly, you will see the "OUT+8" LED lit up telling you that it is set to outputs 9-16. Please let us know if you have any further questions or problems.

Yes, you can still control the Compact or the Rack with a tablet with this setup. The console would need to be connected to the network, and you would need to set or know the IP address of the console. There have been situations where we used a Compact at FOH and the Rack as a monitor console.

You are welcome. If you have a problem, then keep asking questions. It sounds like you need to go to the Routing page, the "out 1-16" tab, and then set Output 1 = "Main M/C". By default, it is probably on MixBus 1, which is why you're only seeing it on Bus 1. If you make this change, as well as follow the steps I outlined the other day (i.e. select channel 2 and activate the "Mono" button, etc.), then what you are trying to do will work.

Great question. It's not completely clear what you are trying to do, but I would route to either a Matrix or to the M/C channel, but I wouldn't do both for the subs. For example, you could send the full LR mix to two or more matrices, and then apply Linkwitz-Riley Crossovers to separate the sub matrix from the LR matrices. Alternatively, if you want to select specific channels to be sent to the sub, select that channel (say kick drum), press the Home button, navigate to the "main" tab, and engage the "Mono" button. You will also need to turn up the volume for that channel in the mono mix. You could also disengage the "LR" button on that screen if you want that particular channel to go only to the mono channel (subs) and not to the main PA. Additionally, if you go to Setup, on the "config" tab, there is an option for "M/C depends on Main L/R". If engaged, pulling down the main LR fader will also turn down the M/C channel....it won't physically pull down the M/C fader, but will reduce the signal coming out of it. This will help keep your sub and main mixes in balance. Lastly, you will want to go to the Routing screen, and make sure you have an output assigned to the "Main M/C". Let us know if this makes sense and if you need further assistance.

Yes, on the X32 Compact, go to the routing screen, and go to the "aes50-a" tab. Set Outputs 9-16 to "Out 9-16". This will send those outputs down the AES50 line to the X32 Rack. On the X32 Rack routing screen, go to the XLR Out tab and set Ouputs 1-4 to "AES50 A9-12" and Outputs 5-8 to "AES50 A13-16" The video talks about a little at 2:45, but it references outputs 1-8 instead of 9-16.

I'm glad you got it working! Yes, this video is 3 years old, and they have made firmware changes, so certain things might be in a different location now than they were when the video was made.

Thanks for the question. Yes, you are close. On the X32 Compact routing screen, go to the "Home" tab. Inputs 1-8 and 9-16 should be "Local 1-8" and "Local 9-16"...meaning that your first 16 channels will be coming from things plugged directly into the first 16 channels on the X32 Compact. On that same "Home" tab, set Inputs 17-24 and 25-32 to "AES50 A1-8" and "AES50 A9-16"...meaning that your next 16 channels will be coming from things plugged into the X32 Rack. This is of course assuming that you followed the steps in the video and connected both consoles via AES50 A.

Additional note: You will still want to go to the X32 Rack routing screen, and on the aes50-a tab, make sure that Outputs 1-8 and 9-16 are set to "Local 1-8" and "Local 9-16". This means that whatever you plug into the X32 Rack will be sent down the AES50 line to the X32 Compact where it will now show up as inputs 17-32.

Could I save a scene on the rack like I do on the compact for future routes Incase I use this rack as a main instead of a stage box?

Yes, you can save scene's based on different routing situations so that it will be quick an easy to go from using the Rack as a FOH console to using it as a stage box.

Honestly, I like the Android version better, but both work great. I would buy whichever one is most practical to your needs outside of the X32. It really is a matter of personal preference.

This is for the X32 only what android tablets would you suggest?

What kind of droid tablet would you suggest?

I have been using the Google Nexus 10 for several years now without any problems. I have not tried any other tablets, so I can't really recommend one over the other. I have also used several android phones to adjust monitor mixes without any problems, such as the LG G4, LG G3, Galaxy S4, etc.

Hi Paul, thanks for the question. Since both the Producer and the Rack only have 8 physical outputs, you will need to assign one console to be outputs 1-8 and the other to be outputs 9-16. If you are using 7/8 on the Producer as L/R, then I would send output 9 to the Rack as your 7th monitor mix. For example, if you are connecting both via AES50 A, then on the Producer, go to the AES50 A tab under Routing, and set “Outputs 9-16” to “Out 9-16”. You can then go to your “out 1-16” tab under routing, and set Output 9 to be MixBus 7. Then on the Rack, go to your XLR Out tab under Routing, and set “Outputs 1-4” to “AES50 A1-4”. This is saying that your physical outputs on the Rack are what you are receiving from the Producer via AES50 A (Outputs 9-16). This will make your first physical output on the Rack to be monitor mix 7. Does this makes sense? Let us know if you need any further clarification. Thanks!

Thanks for the helpful tip. I got it working. It seems that by default my Producer no. 9 out was sourcing to the X32 Rack at Channel 25, which I sent to Mix Bus 1 in the X32 Rack and turned the Bus 1 Fader up of course in the Rack menu screen. With Rack Ch. 25 sending to Rack Bus 1 at unity I have full monitor control from Bus 7 on the Producer as it is assigned to output 9. Cheers.

Hello, we did not create the app, but I highly doubt there will be a version of Mixing Station for the iPad since MUSIC Group already has their X32-Mix app available in iTunes.

Hello, you do not need to run a second Cat5e cable from the FOH console to the S16. Here is what you would do: 1) On FOH console routing screen, navigate to aes50-a, and for AES50A Outputs 1-8 select "Out 1-8" and for AES50A Outputs 9-16 select "Outs 9-16". This sends all 16 outputs to the X32 Rack. 2) On the X32 Rack routing screen, navigate to the aes50-b tab (remember the S16 is connected to port B of the X32 Rack), then under AES50B Outputs 1-8 select "AES50 A9-16". On the Rack, this is taking outputs 9-16 coming from the FOH console on port A, and sending them to the S16 connected to port B. Let us know if you have additional questions.

Hey there! We have used the setup you are talking about, so it's totally possible. This video has it setup to run the monitors from FOH, so what you will need to change is this: 1. On the "XLR Out" tab on the Rack Routing page, change your XLR "Outputs 1-4" to "Out 1-4" and "Outputs 5-8" to "Out 5-8"...this will change the first 8 outputs to come from the Rack's local outputs. 2. Again, on the Rack, navigate to the aes50-b page (since you're connecting to the S16 via port B). Change "Outputs 1-8" to "Out 9-16". This is what you're sending to the S16 and will change the 8 physical outputs on the S16 to be outputs 9-16 from the Rack. 3. You may or may not have to change the settings on the S16, but you shouldn't have to change anything on the Compact FOH console. +Samos12 Absolutely, once you've connected the X32 to a wireless router, you can connect many devices to that router. For example, it very common for us to have an iPad, an Android tablet, a phone, and a PC (running the X32-Edit app) all connected at the same time. If you want your musicians and singers to be able to control their own mixes, they can all connect too and use the X32-Q app. Hope this helps!
