Went and stood at the top in the pissing rain. Getting to the big roll was slippery enough just walking. Watched a guy get fully bucked on the weird compression 3/4 the way down. We called it and rode the rest of monz and hey Daryl. Waiting for a bit drier!

Looks like classic Hartland compressions at bottom of all the rolls. Hahah

Did the guy try the big rock roll from the way I entered or the straight/higher option? It may not have been there at the time but theres a straight line in now. Thats fair- in the dry that roll will be so much safer.

He went same way as you. Did the gross run in, track stand for a second to gather himself then did top part of the roll fine but hit the hump at the bottom and just about otb. Saved it in the end but was opt confidence inspiring!hahah

Thanks man! And thats a tough one, the closest I can think of right now would be the Loam line drop on Tzouhalem maybe. But its probably still double the size of that 🤷🏼‍♂️. Apparently we need more big drops around.

You dont need much speed, ive never come up short on this. Overshooting is the bigger risk. This drop is actually better than most at its size because it has a downsloping takeoff so you can spot the landing fairly early. I actually built this drop originally in 2019 😊

Ok! Now just gotta build the courage!

Actually the rock drop higher up the same trail (Daisy Dukes) is probably a pretty good preparation for the final drop. But yes, at some point the technical skill is the same for a bigger drop and its just building up the courage to actually do it.

Ya I cant remember why he was riding chainless; if it was for practice or if he had mechanical issue and decided screw it. I actually have another buddy Leland who doesnt use a chain at Prevost because his bike feels better without it and prevost is so steep it really doesn’t hold him back 🤷🏼‍♂️
