Love it! I would find an old gas stove that looks ugly, but functions great, and pop it in the garage, so you can still cook and bake.
@r-bu4sn yes! I'd really love to have an old wood cook stove!!
@@poorvalleyprincess that's a great idea! Sounds like a Facebook marketplace, or estate sale/auction find.
My dog hates snow even tho she has never seen snow
My dogs can smell the toys thru several inches of snow 💕😊
I'm in South Carolina and we're on snow number one. And it sucks. I'm ready for summer.
I bet you don't see snow like this often!!
@poorvalleyprincess no we don't. And that's what scares me. I don't know how to drive in this stuff.
I’m in Florida and I would love to get snow. My son wants it to snow so bad. It’s beautiful
@@Arginne it is beautiful!!
@@Arginne I wish I could trade with y'all.
Beautiful.
I saw the seed sale bin last night! Cool!😁😁😁
Great video! We visited Blackwater during Covid and saw where the Presbyterian mission was.
That is a lovely spot!
Craig wanted to go sneak up on the cows and see if they were talking at midnight, but it was too cold for me!
I love this story! What a Super traditional event!😊😊😊
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
COUNT ME!!! GREAT TRADITION! 😊
We do this too!
Enjoyed this one!! Brought back a lot of memories. Happy New Year to you and yours!!
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you too!
Loved this
I’d like to know where you live as we have a poor valley at the foot of our mountain in Bland County. And a rich valley as well. The story is poor valley was named first and was some of the best fertile soil in the area. Rich valley was named so because it was such rocky poor earth the folks in poor valley didn’t want to brag and felt sorry for those in the other valley, no clue if it’s true or not.
Thanks for sharing! Poor Valley actually runs from way down in a Tennessee all the way up through VA. I love hearing all the stories of how each section of Poor Valley regales how it got is name. 😊
@@poorvalleyprincess sorry you’re embarrassed by your location. Must be in northern or central Virginia rather than near Tennessee or in western Virginia where the mountain stories originated. I guess you consider the valley of state route 42 poor valley. In western Virginia, we call it The Bluegrass Trail. It runs, with breaks all the way up the Appalachian range a mountain over from US 11 (I81). I’m just an old man interested in my local history. I’m sorry but I don’t think of center Al or northern Virginia as having the “Poor Valley Princess” attitude or history or knowledge of the hardships of poor valley residents. Sorry I bothered you.
Thank you for telling me about Old Christmas. I became a country man when I moved here at 5 years old. I’m 84 now so I think it stuck. I live near Wytheville at Big Walker Lookout.
It’s a beautiful part of the world.
Here!
Her is the "HEN PARTY"!!!!😅😂😂😅😅😂
I thought you were having a "hen party" doing this!!!😅😅😊
This is so cool! I can't wait to see what you pick over time!
I'm excited to see what it looks like too.

Yummy 😋 My mother-in-law makes this dish every new year day. I look forward to it, every NEW YEARS DAY🥰
That is a tradition worth keeping!
The love from a mamma right here. God bless for the love you give your baby’s even if they grown. 🙏🏽💛💐✝️💌
They call that the "hungry man" at Denney's, but it don't come with a heart and fou fou coffee 😅😅
@@duhoho2474 I like my fancy coffee
@poorvalleyprincess as you should!
It won't die, but it'll still taste like kale when you pick it.
@JonFrumTheFirst lol, you sound like my husband. He's not a fan either.

I make a similar recipe but I leave off the poppy seeds. This is our favorite casserole. I think the blocks of cheese that you grate yourself is so much better. But I get lazy sometimes and use the packaged kind! :)
Lol, I often find I'm out of Poppy Seed. It's good anyway!
This is the national dish of Romania .We ate it there few years ago.@poorvalleyprincess
Merry Christmas!!
Thank you! 🎄
🎄Thank you!
It is CHRISTmas here in MO. as well.

You're not wrong about pre-shredded cheese being different. It is tossed in a coating to stop it from clumping together in the package. It may affect taste, but it will definitely affect how it melts. That's why one shouldn't use it in a sauce, like for mac and cheese. It does not melt the same.
I didn't know that. Makes sense!
I have only ever had this made with chocolate pudding. Seeing it made with vanilla is blowing my mind. (Though one time I did make it with vanilla. But we also used vanilla cookies because we were trying to make a beach themed dessert. That's a sand cake, not a dirt cake.)
How fun! I've never seen it made with chocolate. I'll have to try it!
You look so pretty! I like that earrings/sweater combo.
That's sweet of you to say! Thank you.
Yum!! That looks delicious!!
@@hopedavidson3697 it is!
How do you squeeze o!to enough to get milk out of them? 😅😂😅😂😅😂😅

Leftovers are awesome. That's a meal that I don't have to cook! With leftover Thanksgiving turkey, I used to shred it and made enchiladas. Last year I diced it and made fried rice. This year I shredded it and made turkey and wild rice soup. (Though as my boys get bigger, I seem to have fewer leftovers to deal with.)
That soup sounds delicious!
Me! We didn't plant anything last year because we were planning to travel a lot in the summer and knew it would all die. But I missed our garden. I am excited for spring!
Are you from Poor Valley VA? My late Grandmother was from there.
We will take a box and a half, please. BTW, they are needed😂😅😂😅😂❤ so we can practice eating them while the bride makes.some.
She can whip you up a batch in the morning!
@poorvalleyprincess she might do that after I get back from the store
I have a snowman that matches your Santa! My neighbor gave it to us when I was little. We used to hang it on our front door. Now I hang out on my boys' door. A sweet reminder of an old friend.
@MariaSchieltz-c5h I love this! I think there is a Reindeer out there too.
@@poorvalleyprincess I honestly thought that she made it. LOL She was creative/crafty. I didn't know that they were a thing that other people had.
Maybe they were sold in a set of 3 originally, idk...
@@MariaSchieltz-c5h lol!! Maybe she did!
