if you change the turbo, then you must repeat the job
man you made that look way too easy, and do they hold up a long time
Music is pointlessly loud
Yeah mate there's some people and businesses that I wouldn't send a enemy too, Good stuff on teaching yourself .
hey mate, looking at getting one welded up any chance u can do it if so how can i get in contact
Hey mate sorry for late reply. We don't do them. It was basically a one off for a good friend.
Any slower and we go back in time spitting it out ffs
what are you using for dye Rinder? I have never seen an electric that small.
Hey mate it is just a cheap Dremel I bought from mitre10 for like $50. Came in a huge kit with a heap of attachments and the flexshaft driven pencil attachment. I think I payed more for a decent burr for it.
Hey mate just guessing you're not making the series anymore?
Make me one for xr6t🫣
We don't do them. Not really setup to do them easily atm. It was a one off for a good friend
Great video bud!
Thanks mate
is it twin turbo? that thing is fucking sick!
Na man single turbo, can't remember what ci, maybe a 416ci with a powerglide. It's a bloody animal. Makes mine feel like a camry haha
Thought I'd revisit the comments. This motor is currently making 670ish rwhp. Has about 5000kms on it so far. I'm suspecting that I made the wastegate outlet too much of a priority for the flow and I think it's blowing the gate open early. Makes 670hp at 4500rpm or so from memory and just holds it all the way to rev limit. The boost drops from 14psi back to 8 or 9 at the end of the run. This wouldn't be an issue for a boost controller but just running a boost tee for now until I wire the nexus up. Might make a video on this all soon. Cheers guys😎
cheers bro, good vid.
cheers bro, not many videos of full tear downs. just what i needed!
Glad I can help mate, I'm no expert, I've just read how to's in books etc. Ill post the ones I used in a new vid. My last build is turbocharged and currently making 670ish hp at the Hubs. Over 5000kms on it with no issues yet. Ill turn it up some more once my daily patrol is finished and reliable, so I can afford to break the racecar 😆
@@buildnboost4561 would you be able to put a vid together about everything that you done to your turbo ls? I want to do it eventually but im not sure what's good and what's not. Thanks.
What would you like to see mate? I could do one when I find a bit of spare time.
so when you say you'll number the conrods, is that so they go back to the same slot on the crank shaft? thanks. would you re-balance the crank if you were going to run a bit of boost or something? thanks.
Yer thats correct mate. Just because it is already balanced from factory. And I'm not changing anything just cleaning and checking and then reassembling. I didn't on my last ls build. All factory rotating assembly, just new rings and gapped them a bit more. And opened up the bearing clearances a bit.
would heli-coils be a good option for stripped threads?
Yes I would use a helicoil if I had a stripped thread. Havnt had one stripped before luckily. You would have to check some of the holes as some intersect with each other when putting a helicoil in.
Are you that famous guy from 6boost, do you like turtles?
🤦♂️
Is that Tom hanks?
WILSON!
Yeah mad
Mad. Im getting this done to my 3582. Hope it doesn’t crack. What’s the chances ?
Urdo
Im in the video in the blue shit .
Good job, la soudure a tenue, pas de fente ?
Thanks mate. I apologise but I don't know how to translate the rest of your comment.
@@buildnboost4561 no problem, weld has not undergone any risk of cracking with the cast iron after some test?
What about that internal butterfly flap.. can you basically weld normal mild steel filler rod to just weld it all up?
Id imagine so. I used stainless and had a bit of trouble with cracking. Had to preheat it pretty hot before I could get it to stop cracking.
If you're QLD based, got a turbo you can give it a crack at!
Great video brother thanks for posting it 💪
No problem man. Was a good event. 😎
Casually has engine block on stand in the living room
That’s awesome would never trust myself to do that to my housing lol
It was a cheap housing of a mates, dont be scared to give something a go. :)
That's not an L98 That's an LS
Definitely is an L98 😎
Its l98 just upsidown !
Its upsidown mate
hiya where do i contact to get one made cheeers!!!
Sorry mate not currently taking on any work. Happy to talk you through it if you have access to a tig welder though.
What material should be used?
For which bit mate?
Nice video! Doing a modern engine swap into a classic right now and in the stage of designing the AC system. I was about to buy a crimping tool ($$$$) but those would serve perfect at a fraction of the cost of ferrule and crimping system.
Im not sure exactly where they are from. I got them through a mate that does AC stuff. The brand of them is Highgate air. Thier phone number on the packet is 1800 15 15 15 Part no# for a -6 45° is HFE-85746 That may help steer you to the correct range of fittings. This is in AUS too.
Why did you put it in the lime?
Holds the heat into to housing and takes hours to cool down.
👌🏽✔
Sorry for the massive delay guys! Life got in the way and making some big changes in my life. Hopefully be back into working on the ute and producing some more content shortly!
Where do you buy the engine parts?
Few different places man, where about are you located?
@@buildnboost4561 I’m in Los Angeles California, but I’m not from here.
@@zenvibesonly7728 we're in AUS, any decent performance shop should be able to supply the parts. Its just hard to know where to get them. As I've had substandard parts delivered even from the so called best in the business workshops.
might be an idea to go back and update thumbnails and titles and add descriptions to all your videos
Just seen this haha. Yer starting to get back into it. Ill try address this soon
Built for boost
Can’t wait for this to be done and make some jam!

Hopefully some comments help the TH-cam algorithm !!! Keep up the good work man !!!!
Cheers bro
Build'n'Boost no worries man keep the comments flowing it’s very important for the yt algorithm
Ready for all the boosts now
He plans on wasting a heap! Haha bloody falcon owners hehe
Fukn kane.... what a head!
Don't take life too seriously m8.. You are doing fine and it's a pleasure to subscribe to your channel! Look forward to seeing what you are up to!! ~Ed
Thanks man, prob came off as a bit of a downer in this vid, but I can assure you I enjoy what I'm doing. All the set backs that I've had are what drive me to learn new skills and what have got me to where I am today! Glad your enjoying the channel, cheers Dan
I hate wiring too!! Haha
I really didn't think I'd have issues. It's got Damn fire sleeve around it haha. Might need to do a better job of insulating the whole terminal next time.
Apologies for the crap lighting, something to be mindful of next time.
