What Is Absinthe, Exactly?
Absinthe is one of those spirits that's wrapped in as many myths as it is mysteries. It's been both cherished and scorned, feared and misunderstood. In movies and TV shows absinthe often gets painted with a big, bold brush of emerald green, usually shown as the bad guy behind tales of chaos and crazy visions.
Despite getting a bad rap and being banned for nearly a hundred years in many places, absinthe is making a major comeback. Today it's all the rage at craft distilleries and the hot ingredient in trendy cocktails.
But what's the true scoop on absinthe? How is it made? What kicked off its notorious bans, and how are folks enjoying it these days? What keeps people so fascinated by it? Stick with us as we answer these questions and find out how absinthe has reemerged into the limelight, now more enchanting and popular than ever before.

มุมมอง 451วันที่ผ่านมา
Think about the last time you walked into a movie theater. That warm, buttery smell that hits you isn't just there to make your mouth water. It's a big part of why we love going to the movies. But how did popcorn become the star of the show? The story of popcorn starts about 8,000 years ago when people first grew maize from a wild grass called teosinte, which doesn't look much like the corn we ...
The Rise and Fall of the Easy Bake Oven
มุมมอง 71714 วันที่ผ่านมา
Way back in 1946, brothers Albert, Phillip, and Joseph Steiner set up Kenner Products, taking the name from the Cincinnati street where they started their business. One of their first hits was the Bubble-Matic Gun, a toy pistol that shot bubbles instead of bullets. This fun twist on a toy gun quickly captured the hearts of kids. The Bubble-Matic Gun's popularity sparked an entire line of bubble...
History Of The Food Pyramid Scheme
มุมมอง 47121 วันที่ผ่านมา
During the groovy 70s, the world was stuck in the middle of a giant grain shortage, and the outlook was looking pretty bleak. But the biggest loser in this global grain game were the Soviets. Hit by a one-two punch of bad weather and even wor...
Morgan Spurlock: Super Size Me Lies
มุมมอง 1.1K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
They say some lies are to be taken to the grave. Were those the sentiments of filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who recently passed due to cancer at just 53 years old? While many have him to thank for making them reconsider their choice of grub and even providing unforgettable entertainment, our friends at McDonald’s may feel a little differently. Back in 2004, director Morgan Spurlock turned heads an...

By the time the 70s and 80s rolled around, malls were at their peak. Movies like "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" capt...

The Thirst Quenching History of Dr Pepper

Pop open the soda scene, and there's one drink that always pops out…Dr Pepper… Unlike the usual cola or root beer, Dr Pepper is its own thing, a "pepper soda." Despite being the old guy on the block, it's still kicking strong. Wh...

But the origin of providing meals to students at school dates back to Europe in the late 1800s. It was Great Britain and Germany that pioneered the initiative, offering not only meals but also clothing and books to children, under close governmental supervi...

It seems Tom Naughton is doing well. Did expose of Morgan in "Fathead" which has done very well.
It’s funny while watching this mall clip, I was eating a candy bar that has Carmel and a pretzel 🥨 inside of it, when she missioned the pretzel 🥨 company and started showing various pics of pretzels, I thought that was quite funny 😅
The one with the Carmel popcorn 🍿 it was 😋😋😋😋😋
I worked at a Farrell's for 2 years in the early 1980s. It was in a mall in Murray, Utah. The mall remains but the Farrell's is long gone. I hated those stupid hats so, thanks for bringing that memory back... Not!
I miss orange julius. Grew up at the mall in the 80s/early 90s. Pizza dogs, a soft pretzel, and an apple pie julius. Good times. I'd give anything to go back.
Does Eddy's Loaf and Stein still exist?
Anyone remember Wyatt's cafeteria? Loved their Egg Plant Casserole & pecan Deight pie.....
All I gotta say is- why did you guys go with the "jizz splooge all over the entire screen" as your go to transition animation?
Miss Farrell’s it was great for bday parties 🎈 😊
Never heard of any of them except Kenny.
bro i thought this was grub lore hollow kngiht
A reasonably priced, and with good food cafeteria back in the day would have seen many regular visits from me. Too bad for me, there simply weren't any cafeterias of any kind in my area during the years when I was regularly looking for meals out on a daily basis. Certainly, would have enjoyed that much more than the fast food I remember that I usually wound up with.
Britling Cafeteria in Birmingham was a Sunday staple. The term " beat the Baptists to Britlings" was comically used by Methodists to lobby for shorter church sermons.
I remember orange julius, hot sam pretzels, Woolworth. I lived near Luvonia Mall and Westland mall, where the had Hot Sam pretzels. Lots of changes to both those malls, especially after they closed Penneys and Sears. I miss the malls like they used to be😢
Orange Julius! They would put eggshells in the blender for calcium. Then they stopped.....
I miss malls. One of my first jobs was working at the food court at the mall.
I'm so glad I had the mall experience instead of Amazon door delivery .. .
Left out Kings table restaurant
Can't say I miss any of these
There Was-A ORANGE JULIUS!@Old Oakland's-Washington&Clay St.-At Oakland, California!&I Remember IT-WELL!-Raymond 'Mike" Hong!&(Enjoy!-Everyone!-Mike!)😎👍!!!!!!!!!
I remember Carousel -- later A&W Hot Dogs and More -- being one of the last chains (not just restaurants) in a dying mall. Upper Midwest.
I'm originally from the Chicagoland area and I only remember a handful of these places.
Hey man! It doesn't seem to work. Could you resend it. Thank you!
Thanks man! I've reached out.
It is more profitable to produce grains than it is to produce meat.

Kenny Rogers Roasters is still big in Asia.
Most of these are extremely obscure names that I - and others who've commented here - have never heard of, much less eaten at.
Harvest Houses were not all cafeterias, despite what this video says. The ones I went to were regular sit-down restaurants with waitresses.
AI generated rubbish.
Follow the money!
Always! Thanks for watching.
I miss Morrison's. they always had a long line at lunch time.
The only one I recognized here on the east coast was Woolworth's.
never knew this
Hmm. I commented on this & my comment is gone now. I think it had more likes and views too.
I still miss Britling's in Memphis 😢. They didn't close until 1992 or 1993 in Memphis.
Loved Farrells!
It wasn’t covered. Photo was used and I watched to the end, but nothing was said about Farrell’s.
@@garytheosophilus I saw the picture and I was just remembering the Farrells we had in our Mall when I was a child. It was such a fun place to eat. A lot of people may not remember them.
Farrell's was fun for kids but really obnoxious for adults, at least in the '70s - constant loud music and annoying loudspeaker announcements, along with the usual kiddie screams and other vocalizations.
Yes, it was the best!! I loved their candy store. And their Nickelodeon’s that they had in the entrance that you could watch while you were waiting in line.
I loved this one and my brother had a grill I can't remember it's name
Woolworth's and Brigham's had the best hot dogs on toasted buns.
Lum's was good too, their dogs were steamed in beer.
Anyone remember Furrs cafeteria?
I don't know a lot of these places. I'm American.
Growing up in the 80's in California, I always loved Hof's Brau. My wife and I still reminisce about the roast beef that they'd carve off the bone for you. Hofbraus in general are almost nowhere to be found these days.
Now that we know eating McDonald's all day every day wouldn't hurt us, we can't afford it 😥
So true... How times have changed. Thanks for watching!
I remember Kmart had a food court with icees and ither things. And Target had popcorn and soda
Ditto 💯💕
1933’s Jurassic Park?
Thanks for catching that! We've added the correction. 😁
😂 No you didn't
Check the description 😉. Thanks for watching!
