I pulled him out and squeezed his belly to push out all that stuck poop. hopefully I didn't hurt him in the process he wasn't happy taking him out the tank that's for sure

My Red Oscar is a very voracious eater like most Oscars. but I have noticed his butt hole gets a big bulge after eating like his poop is stuck. I actually saw him push into some wood in the tank and knock some of it out. Any ideas and or suggestions are welcome. he is very active and healthy except for this budging.

I didn't invent this I did this after watching Ben Ochart's Channel. So I am just demonstrating what I did following his video. I did this probably a year ago and it has greatly reduced the sand getting into my FX6 filter

really nice filter, im happy for you and hope you do very well with this project. Only concerns i see it a lil windy might that filter get knocked into the tub? Also it is very shallow so make sure to keep an eye on the temp.

Yes, all loaches (Clown loaches/ Botia Macracantha, Yoyo loaches) all eat snails and neocaradina shrimps
@@IskandarPramono yes I'm finally seeing some results. At first I wasn't but now it is very sparatic seeing snails they seem to be disappearing slowly

@@mastercraft5798 I have glass covers but have them open to keep the tank cooler with the cover down in the summer water get 85 plus in that tank due to the pumps and filters and lighting
@@razinfishes1918 Not sure what type you have, but you can get (or make) covers with slots and holes that let all the heat escape. Good luck for the future.👍
I restore a 120gal With a aquaponics plant system on back, but I had a glass lid made for mine with a 2 inch hole in the center to feed and to lift up to take off thehe take
Its all part of the hobby. Now you go out & $ another handful of babies and start all over.
this happened to my old jaguar .. i was told to put him in a hospital tank with epsom salt for an hour.. cant remember the ratio.. it acts as a laxative .. and it wworked.. my .02
So what I have started is soaking his pellet food with Kent Garlic Extreme so he eats the treated food and i think that my help. But I will for sure keep everyone's ideas close to see what finally works Thanks for your info much appreciated

Try not to feed him for a couple of days. To give him a chance clean himself out.
Eating and active is always good, i think. but it does look like something is going on there.

why do you have milk crate at bottom of tank?
@@GCaquatics So when I first set this up I was using real rock big ones. And knowing my stock and there digging habits it a way to protect the bottom glass from a rock falling and hitting the bottom glass

Pre filters are great for all filters, great diy trick.
@@pattys_aquatics wasn't my trick actually I saw it on Ben Ocharts channel. I made it so I could share it with another TH-camr that had sand stop his FX6 but I couldn't find Ben's video so I made one so I could share with him

I have yo yo fish too. They are adult size and they do eat the bigger pest snails I had in my tank. I see the empty shells. But now I have some trumpet snails which I don't like. They haven't seemed to have eaten them yet and I have vacuumed the gravel and plucked out over 300 of these trumpet snails. in a week so far I do see my yo yo fish swim right on them but I don't see them eating them. When I did pluck some, II notice they were empty inside I think. The trumpet snails so far with my effort haven't exploded or even on the glass so maybe at night my yo yo fish get them. Mine stay mostly in the rock caves I have and they love chasing each other around. I have cut back on feeding my fish so I can also starve the trumpet snails. No food on gravel to eat they die. Nice tank you have. Ay other questions let me know. Good luck. BYW, my yo yo fish are about 4in right now.
@@tktropicals4997 thanks for the advice and encouragement. I was thinking because they are still young that's why they are not eating them. So time will tell. Thank you for your comment I guess there is light at the end of the tunnel.

@@tktropicals4997 yes val shoots out runners. I have some right now in my 75 gallon that have sent runners under my rock bridge. They always seem to find a way to grow
that's a whole lotta guppy grass in that 75, the video quality is really good. Let me know if the yoyos end up fixing the snail problem. The 125 lookin really nice. all your tanks are lookin good brother.

does the sponge work on rocks too?
@@tylerphillipeck8017 so if they are smooth river rock it should do fine. But any rough rocks it will just tear up the sponge.
