I really was interested in the yoyo loach until I found out through many yt vids when they mature, a long with their close relatives they can become EYEBALL eaters. No thanks.
@@unleashthekraken7548 hum so haven't seen that behavior I guess something to watch out for. I got them for snail control and they seem to do that pretty good
Live and learn . . . I guess🙂 You make a fantastic point, Scott! Thank for the share. And the tank looks freakin' awesome in spite of the challange. ~Ron
I think we all have made impulse buys before without doing research. Great point to make Scotty 😁
Love them and hate them all at once... That's why I moved them on too
Nice tank :)
@@DiscusNT lol it was nicer before I had to rip everything out to catch those Rosie Barbs
Beautiful tank sir!!👍🏾
@@4everaquatics152 thank you
My issue was with the Buenos aires tetra. Initially got a school of 17. They did a number on the plants. Took them back to petco. Re bought them some point down the line. Still had to have them. Bought them again and tried a variety of anubias. Nothing safe except kryps. Had to fake plants on their tank. We don’t win them all. Thanks. I summary, got to do your research
I learn my lesson as well. With a Chinese algae eater. This thang was eating my fish. Ughhhh so frustrating. Please do your research it will save so much headaches for you. Thanks for sharing
Lol. Don't feel bad I've done the same thing I just got to have them.
For a single filter setup in a small betta tank would you recommend this sicce over a sponge filters? Which is best in preventing bio film with surface agitation?
@@carlossalinas6234 yea for a Betta I probably would go with a sponge filter. Bettas don't care for much flow. Although I can say this filter you can adjust the flow all the way down so it may do ok with a Betta
That tub keeps looking better and better!
@@MerbeastsFishRoom-s7e thank you sir
Those rice fish are looking awesome in the tub. Truly in their element
I need to try some rice fish
@@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants if you were near by I could help you out
You won’t regret it Ben!
Man that tub looks freaking awesome. I’m so jealous and wish I could have mine out right now.
@@pattys_aquatics it's not outside yet but soon
Very nice. Thanks for sharing
Summer tubing 🎶🎶 we need a song lol Those rice fish are going to be in heaven
@@stubbsaquatics6080 lol I still got a bunch in the house in that Walmart tub I need to move. My wife doesn't like it right in front of my window. So that's the next move to get all them moved out
I'm putting together my first-ever aquarium (60+ years old). I've always wondered why natural environment aquariums are never promoted by most aquarium/fish suppliers. Well, I've figured it out: They want to not only sell you what makes you happy and let you run with it but to make sure that they continue to profit from unnecessary manufactured supplies. While I am all for making money, I figure that it should be done in a way that doesn't force the customer to spend more money on useless and/or unnecessary stuff. All that being said, before the initial setup of my 10-gallon tank, I decided to learn how to make it as close to a natural environment as possible. I'm grateful that TH-cam placed a Father Fish video in my feed, which ultimately led me to this video. While I had already made up my mind on how I am doing it, having folks like you put out a video that supports my ideas is fantastic! Thank you for the encouragement.
@@tmber01 so glad I could help. I definitely was nervous about doing a dirted tank for sure. It goes against all I had learned or taught. But now that I did it I now have 2 tanks/ 2 tubs that are dirted and eventually I want to move all my tanks to dirted now that I see how self sustaing they are and plant growth is incredible
Very nice ! Thanks for sharing
@@allauricia1985 thank you
Nice
does your father fish tank have his mix of suppliment added?
@@hemkeshyeole4630 So you have 2 options you can buy his ready made soil that has the supplement in it already. Which 2 of my tanks are that way. And option 2 just buy the supplements and mix it up with your own soil mixture. Which I did in 2 of my systems as well
@razinfishes1918 you are lucky I live in india , I don't think I can get it here , I need make it for my own , that's why I was asking, is it needed
@@hemkeshyeole4630 so I can't say it's needed but I can say that it will allow you to have a sustainable substrate until you get a food web going which will keep your substrate full of nutrients for your plants and all those tiny organisms that keep your tank going strong
So very cool, thanks for sharing
@@MerbeastsFishRoom-s7e yep I'm excited to grow these guys out
Lookin' good!
Looks great. You need to keep us updated, those plants should take off in the sun.
Very beautiful aquarium Scotty. Keep up the great work my friend.

Looks really good, what is water temp during winter?
@@GCaquatics So we're generally pretty mild. But I brought in my blue tube awhile back cuz the water was getting in the low 60s. But I ended up putting a heater in the tube to to bring it in the low 70s
@@razinfishes1918 my outside tubs got too cold and killed everything, got me all discouraged :/
@@GCaquatics well don't get discouraged. You have to get back on the horse and ride again. This past summer all my guppies died outside the water got to hot I think as it was in the 90s. Also that is why I built my new stock tank on wheels I can move it inside during the winter and outside during summer. Lol a mobile fish pond
@@razinfishes1918 i will do some measurements to see if any way i can bring the totes in the garage.
I absolutely love this tank I love anubias. They are probably one of my favorite plants and my crypts. .. Rosies and plants are never good lol. I have never kept those types of rainbow fish... Nano only Great tour

Looks awesome, I'm excited to see that guppy grass go absolutely insane
@@FlowstateAquatics yea I have way toooo much guppy grass I just clean a bunch out of one of my rice fish grow out tanks this morning
Maybe I need one of these for my guppies
@@Sarahthegreatt I know I will have rice fish in it for sure. But I have to decide what other outdoor fish I want in there
@ love me some rice fish!
@@Sarahthegreatt well if you were near by I would give you many. I probably have 150 juveniles I'm growing out from this past summers breeding time

@@markfranklin8831 thank you
Love me some little babies 🥰
Never tried yolk before. Does fresh raw seem to be best?
@@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants never tried a raw egg. This was a hard boiled egg yoke. It's a really fine food for their tiny mouths and it's full of protein. After a few days I will move to a super fine flake food
👍👍👍
Wow that's so cool. They're getting big

Love the filter and smart move on the metal barbs . This tub is going to be awesome.. so stoked about this new hot tub 😂 The plants are going to grow wild .. you will probably have to thin out some guppy grass. . Awesome... Vid Scott. You have really thought this out .
@@stubbsaquatics6080 thank you lol thought this out hmmm let's think about that for minute....nah it was all on the fly
Great job. Looks great. I have to say cause i mentioned on another video that you should of rinsed your blasting sand cause of the dust.
