      How can I configure my Prusa MK4S with the GPIO board to trigger a camera and take a picture right after each layer change? The camera uses a 2.5 mm AUX input, and I currently use a microswitch on another printer to trigger it. I’d like to switch to using the GPIO functionality on the MK4S instead. What G-code or methods would you recommend for this? I reached out to Prusa support, but they informed me that they don’t provide support for questions like this.

      @@Zemistr3D Thank you so much! Currently, I’m using a microswitch with a 2.5 mm AUX, but it would be much easier to control everything with G-code. I’m just a bit unsure about which G-code triggers and which doesn’t. Does your video explain this and how to ensure the camera won’t get damaged? When do you think the video will be uploaded?

    • @Zemistr3D
      @Zemistr3D 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @NotDoingThisToday The new video will take longer because it’s so many cameras and so many things to think of. If you use one wire on GND and one wire on pin 0 you should be fine. If it doesn’t work correctly, you can try to swap the wires between GND and pin 0. In all my videos, I am using G code where I am using the pin 0. So if you follow my videos, everything should be fine. 😊

    • @NotDoingThisToday
      @NotDoingThisToday 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Zemistr3D The cable used to take a picture is a standard 2.5mm AUX cable. From what you’re saying, I simply need to plug one end into the AUX port on the GPIO board and the other end into the camera’s 2.5mm AUX input. After that, I should call M262 P0 B0 to set pin 0 as an output pin. This shouldn’t send any electrical current through the cable to the camera that could damage it, correct? Or do I need to connect it in a different way? I don’t want to risk damaging my $1600 camera. :)

    I've been able to put an updated Armbian for SKIPR. They work both bookworm and noble versions from the nice project from Maxim Medvedev. Lost screen functionality with the upgrade, so I reverted to CYD screen project. I received also an update THR v1.2 board from TwoTrees and it has been tricky to flash, it needed before a flash_nuke.uf2 file that I took from Adafruit RP2040 board's site. After nuke completely the flash and the Klipper firmware has been flashed. For me both THR v1.0 and v1.2 works good with updated Klipper and with updated Armbian also THR disconnections resolved definitely. Now I've a new printer.

    I just got my camera today and I'm quite disappointed. I understand that some features may come later and that's okay with me. However, the camera doesn't follow the Wi-Fi specifications so it can't connect to Wi-Fi networks if the SSID name is long or if certain normally allowable characters are included in the password. Basic compatibility should be in place before release.

    So you just read the manual and then give criticism to the price setting. One, yes, it's chinees like every other thing in the world these days because they work for peanuts. And second, it works fine . Prusa always deliver what they promise. And yes, it takes time because they want to do it right.notmlike the chinees dump a product, and then you need to solve yourself the problems and buy parts to get it running. Prusa costumer service is very good and somebody needs to pay this so yes they ask money but it's not just the camera you buy. You buy the cost of developing the software,he customer service, and the security of their products. And if you look at things, do it properly. For the moment, the key of your wifi internet network needs to be numbers and letters. Otherwise, it will not work.And yes, they now it and are working on it. I have before a esp 32 camera, and I can say this is much nicer to look at.if you buy it you will not be disappointed.

      I will not change my WiFi credentials for some unfinished product… I will need to change Wi-Fi credentials on all my devices I am already using in my home and this is big no no. For the price, you can get much better and let’s say finished product then this one.

    • @Sembazuru
      @Sembazuru 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Easy to get confused. A quick google search and I see that there are at least two variants of the WROOM, the -32 (the datasheet I just looked at states "not for new designs", but I didn't bother to look up the proposed replacement from Espressif) has the ESP-32 processor, but the -2DU used on this MK4S WiFi module is the exact same ESP8266EX that can be read on the chip on the MK4 WiFi module. The only improvement that I can see is better RF shielding because of the can over the ESP module and the passthrough for the accelerometer cable if one got the accelerometer add-on (I did).

    Really bad tutorial. You let the user do a bunch of stuff and run a lot of ssh commands (of which a few might not work based on other variables on the user's machine), then only after that, (and at that point my machine was already bricked), you say: "Ok, now your printer is f..d unless you take the head apart, do some soldering and update it fabricating a dedicated usb wire". All stuff i can do, but wasn't ready to. Re flashed the EMMC, avoided Klipper and moonraker updates, and all good and working, but very misleading content.

      @@Zemistr3D There're some minor errors in you # Prepare new files structure it moves only stock files. But if someone has created scripts and subfolders will loose them. I don't have problem because I don't follow your scripting, but try to understand what commands are doing and adapt to my configuration. I think better use rsync command to reproduce the whole structure rsync -av /home/mks/klipper_config/ /home/mks/printer_data/config/ Anyway it's good to buy a new eMMC and use for experimenting. Sorry to bother.

    Hello, thanks for this video, I finally managed to do correct updates, however, I can't do the calibrations from the screen, it systematically restarts

      If it restarts, then you don't have default mesh bed leveling saved.

    I could ask that you go through all the parts past the screen upgrade VERY SLOWLY. You're talking about copying and deleting folders for quite a while and very quickly. I have an AK1 and I was going to try this but it's a great deal of information given very fast.
